I just made saxophone section leader. One of my altos left and is currently marching bari. That's so dumb, my director only let him do it because he wouldn't stop whining.

You still need to post some recordings, lol. None of us really have any idea how skilled you are in flute, sax, or clarinet. I don't doubt that you're good, but HOW good is my question, lol.

As soon as I get a mic, or a recording from somewhere else, you guys will be the first to get it.
The only extant recordings of me I know of are the marching band recordings from freshman year. That was back when I was still a really really really weak player. In fact, I can safely say that 50% of the squeaks are coming from me.

If you squeak, then at least that means your putting AIR in the horn, unlike half the freshman clarinets, lol. I just watched the concert pieces from my sophmore year, when I came to Loara. since I played sax for marching, he didn't know what kind of player I was as a clarinetist yet,, so he put me as last chair for the christmas concert. In January, my audition wasn't too hot because I had never memorized scales and such before (I went to Oxford 7 and 9th, and they only have concert bands) so I got placed somewhere in the middle. Then, there was this clarinet lick in Emperata Overture that niether of the firsts could play. He decided to make that be a 'challenge' piece, and would order the clarinet depending on how well they played it. Since I took lessons, I had worked on that part before that day, and managed to be the only one who could not only play the notes, but get the articulation and dynamics right. I did have the best tone and capabilities of everyone in the lower band, but whenever there was a little squeak, it was me. Every time, haha. BUt yeah, it shows that you're trying at least, and you attempt the harder notes or intervals instead of wimp out.

I actually take some of that back. I remembered a little while after posting that that my combo made some practice recordings earlier this year. I'll email my friends for that. You guys can hear me on tenor, if they still have them.
