Alti, however had noticed Peyton, but made no comment. He could deffinatelyDEFINITELY sympathise with the boy and he doubted Haar would look kindly on his "up and about" apprentice, so he followed in silence, although he smirked slightly as they passed the boy and his helper. "Where are we headed to?" he asked Haar curiously, because he had just realised that he did not know.

Under an overcast sky, Faryn had traveled quite a distance through the countryside. He could tell Whitley was beginning to tire and they both needed to find something to eat quickly. He'd tried to avoid cities and larger villages to remain unnoticed, but Faryn decided this was far enough away. He'd been traveling for a few hours now. However, he still had his doubts...
Making a turn for the village of Tullenkey, the chrome-haired teen pulled up the hood of his traveling cloak. It wasn't but half of an hour before he dismounted his horse by a watering trough and rubbed her snout in soothing strokes.
"If anyone so much as touches you, let alone mount you besides me, buck them off and I'll take care of whatever else," he told the horse. Whitley snorted in response.
Faryn strolled into the nearby tavern and picked a seat at the bar. His hood fell back, revealing to a group of rather drunk regulars, that he wasn't from around there. Silver hair like his was rather unusual. Rare to find on someone so young.
"What'll it be for ya?" a woman in her late twenties asked, chewing some variation of gum.
"What do you have to eat?" "Brisket and corn, Pedro's Surprise, Weed Rat Stew and mashed potatoes, Fish and chips. Substitute vegetable medley in for any side," she responded. Pop. She continued chewing her 'gum' boredly. "Fish and the vegetable medley," Faryn responded, running a hand through his silver locks, "And, I suppose whatever alcohol you serve here." It had to be a very uncharacteristic thing of the typical prince to order, but it was around 5pm, and it was going to be a long day. He didn't intend on stopping.
[[No worries. Things will happen to allow Jillian time to catch up. He's not going to be five hours ahead of Jillian. Maybe... an hour. I just time-skipped because nothing really happened in the afternoon and I didn't want Sayael and Dax to be an entire frickin day ahead of them.]]

Mie-tanuki Jillian shrugged. "I suppose I could see it that way... kinda like someone trying to learn how to swim, right?" His thoughts had been taken from those memories - memories which very rarely swam to the surface because they were nearly always painful, or at least had to do with pain. "Anyway, if Faryn finds out about what we're talking about, we're dead. Or, at least, I probably will be. You have a blood tie so I doubt he would be able to actually kill you..." Treza continued to sip her tea. She paused and shook her head, "Oh, I wouldn't worry about Faryn finding out. He's g--" Treza froze. She'd been so glad to see Jillian that she'd forgotten about the letter!
"Jillian... Faryn's not coming," she murmured, eyes downcast.

Jillian smiled and said, his voice soft, "I know. I saw him leave. He had too many bags with him to look like he was coming back any time soon." The green-haired teen sighed and leaned back in his sat, eyes closed for a breif moment. "I haven't the foggiest what he's doing, though," he murmured, looking more tired than anything else.

Treza was shocked. Jillian... he knew?
"Mother always told me to not let him run away from home... that he'd be too dangerous because he didn't know how to handle people, Jillian. But um.. he left something for you... I forgot. Let me go get it, okay? Will you stay?" she asked.

Jillian nodded. "Don't worry, I won't go anywhere," he said with a small smile. He knew Faryn wasn't the best at dealing with people, but, well, he would have to have faith in the young prince or be subject too premature silver hair of his own.

It wasn't long before the food was brought to Faryn. He eyed it warily. The prince wasn't used to food outside the castle. What if it was poisoned, drugged? Undercooked, no less? He bit into the roll that came with the meal. It tasted normal... pretty hard to mess up the bread.
A bottle of crude alcohol was set down beside the plate a few moments later. The prince tucked his gloves away before feeling the cool glass in his hand. He took a quick swig and nearly choked. 'That was worse than I'd pictured it tasting like... Ew. Is this what common people drink?'
5..10...30 minutes passed and the teen's plate still held 3 quarters of the fish and the medley he was reserving for his horse. The bottle was almost empty. Faryn hardly registered the alcohol and instead ordered another. He found it incredibly weak liquor. ... then again, the teen might've just been a tad bitter and critical.
Two rather drunk, rough men took a seat on either side of the teen. "Hey, purdy boy," one began cockily, "What're yuu doin 'ere? Lost in the wuuds?" "Yeah, sweets, can we heelp yuu home?" his drunken buddy hiccuped.
"Who're you two? The village idiots?" Faryn responded defensively. This was... not good.
A bout of obnoxiously drunken laughter ensued. "He's funny and cute, Verne!" the first said to his friend. "Yep.. he suure's... Hey baby--" he called an increasingly disgusted and concerned Faryn, "Come home wif us. We'll show yuu a sweet time! We can geeve you a little educashun on wut real men do when the lonliness geets to ya." One man made a grab for around the prince's waist.
Faryn was horrified. In an atmosphere where he felt more confident he would've made an easy death threat. But... out here... these people could detain him... jail him... do whatever. No one even knew where he was. These people didn't know who he was. In the books... you were supposed to be decent to strangers in other towns... wasn't that right?
Screw it.
"G-get off of me! Right now!" he ordered, "Don't even think about touching me." He slammed 3 pieces of gold-- probably double the cost of the meal (normally paid in silver) on the counter and flung the one man's arm off of his waist. Grabbing the bottle he ran to the door of the tavern and chucked it at one of the drunken mans' heads.
Crash. It missed.
"We tried to be nice, sweets. Or do you always like it rough? I can imagine that. You're a fiesty one." The two men grinned ferally at one another before making a lunge for the door.

Mie-tanuki He felt another guilty twinge at the mention of his apparent femenity. "Maybe..." was what he said, but he highly doubted he would ever tell anyone his secret. After all, it might be that which killed him - it had been known for magic to dwindle and die when it was revealed and despite his wanting to be free, he didn't want to disapear.
"That would be nice," he said, returning the other's bright smile. Muertian tugged on the other's soft hand and pulled him along a series of corridors. It wasn't but 5 minutes before they entered a much larger garden of a very different sort. It was a haven of water, with a waterfall dumping into a crystal clear pond at the far end and the water perpetually flowing in a consistent stream throughout the rectagular area. A weeping willow tree sat along the water's edge and other trees were scattered throughout the well-landscaped area; perfect to lay under and read. A variety of beautiful fish swam in the stream and two fish-shaped fountains sat on either side of the central waterway.
Muertian smiled contentedly and gave a little sigh. "This is my garden," he declared proudly, "What do you think?"

"It's wonderful," he murmured, eyes traveling across the whole of what he could see of the garden. It seemed so very... peaceful, with the sounds of burbling water in the background. If he closed his eyes, he could immagine that he was in that place... it was so much like there with the burbling stream and the shade of trees all around. Very cool and calming. Tranquil.

Treza returned from her sleeping quarters with an ivory envelope in hand. Faryn's seal marked the back of it. She handed it to Jillian with the promise, "I didn't open it." The little princess resituated herself on her seat to watch Jillian and sip her tea quietly. ((letter's contents to come.))

"Thank you," Jillian murmured, taking the envelope and neatly opening it with a long, pale finger. He unfolded the paper and began to read, eyes following each line.

Dear Jillian,
'I love you,' were the words you said to me tonight and you claimed to mean them.
I probably said I didn't believe you. If you say them again, I'll probably continue to say that I don't believe you.
So long as I don't have to say this directly to your face... there's reasons to everything about me, Jillian. I've known you for years, and just recently I met your father at the ball. Your family has always been a secret of yours kept from me. I have secrets too. Everyone does.
But there's things you'll never learn about me even if you came to the castle everyday until the new moon. Things I think you need to know before making such a crazy claim about this so-called love that I don't believe exists.
I'll be aboard the same ship that Blondie and Goth-boy are going to sail from the Nation on. I trust you also know where to find Haeri. Stay out of sight, if you can.
I'm giving you a chance, Jillian. Please don't make me regret it.
~Faryn.

Jillian looked shocked. As if he expected the words to change, he read the letter again. And again. But the words remained and he folded the note back up, slowly shaking his head in disbeleif. It was one thing for Sayael to attempt crossing the wall - again, as Jillian had noted - but Faryn? He didn't want Faryn in danger... or, for a matter of fact, near Sayael since he was known to use people when he could get away with it. His frowned deapened and he sighed. "I... I have to follow him. I'm sorry Treza, I am... but your brother has no idea of what he's getting into..." he murmured, standing up.

Quickly, opening the door, Faryn ran out of the tavern and to his horse. "We have to go, Whitley. We'll eat in the forest or something!" he excused his hurry, mounting the horse in haste.
"Come on, pretty, we'll be rough and gentle!" one of the pair snarled as he grabbed onto Faryn's boot, tugging hard. He fell back and grasped his nose in pain when Faryn kicked at him.
"NO! I said no! Leave me alone!" he insisted, but the two men were far too drunk to care.
"What is wrong with you two?! Don't you speak english??"

Treza sighed. "Yeah, I figured he was being foolish. Anyway... Muertian's horse is quite fast. Brother shouldn't mind too much. It's one of the fastest-- you can imagine Faryn and Muertian used to race quite often. I'll let him know. You should get going," she agreed, "But Jillian... when you get to wherever he is... do me one teensy favor." Treza smiled and put her teacup down.
"Smack him for me. He knows darn well I hate being made the messenger."
