it's these kind of things that get me thinking intensely, intense enough for me to get headaches... SO, my thoughts on why time is just of an illusion...
So people say that there is a vast amount of numbers in this world and so there is an infinity, which Chuck Norris counted up to twice ( talk2hand ) Anyways, heres my assumed thought: If there is a infinite number out there, then that decimal place that leads to the next second still goes on as I type, so it started off at 0 then making it's way to the first second as we speak. So, even back then, we were still in the midst of that time period, the 0-1 thread.Heck, I could still be .5 seconds old right now. So basically, not even one second has past in our lives.
Sure there will be many arguments to what i'm saying, but here are some other things I believe... Although time is an illusion, it's also our only way of staying organized in this world, instead of creating mass chaos on the uninformed. Humans can't comprehend the fact that time is unlimited, so they sorted out a standard for organized set day times.
So there is my theory, if you want to call it that, that time is but of an illusion. Opinions may be stated otherwise. =P
Yeah, these are one of teh many questions I think about. This other one i'm thinking about is "What Exactly is The Real American Dream?

You think I know? gonk I live in Canada... o.O But anyways, let's get back on topic... Well, yes. Time can be an illusion. It's true that it keeps us organized. But I think time is really important and time is not unlimited. Look, because of the polution and smog around, we might as well end up dead soon and the world will go KABOOM! Then we dead to death. ^^;; Just don't think or re-think about anything related to the speed of time. Just enjoy it. Life is short.

I've never really been interested in the theory of time being an illusion, but I have to admit, it's pretty insightful 3nodding . Now what's this about Chuck Norris counting to infinity twice?? And why him of all people? djTAKA Yeah, these are one of teh many questions I think about. This other one i'm thinking about is "What Exactly is The Real American Dream? Some interpret this as basically the enjoyment of gaining and being measured by the number of material posessions a person has. Pretty much a materialistic pursuit (getting an attractive house, owning a nice car, etc. , we've all heard that...), living the good life. Hmmm... stare Then there's the idea that the American dream is the peoples' ability to govern themselves. More or less, it kind of compliments another idea of the American dream where people believe that through hard work, courage, and determination, you can gain financial prosperity...maybe that's how we've gotten the idea of the "nice house, nice car." Still, I think there has to be more than than just this... I'll shut up now.

Don't mind the Chuck Norris comment, it's part of some online joke thing all based on him, another joke about him is that "Chuck Norris and Mr. T cannot be in the same room because there will be apocalypse within that total level of awesome." rolleyes

Time is an illusion?
Are you talking about the theoretical magnitude of irrelevance to time as a measurable unit?
Technically, 'time' is only conceptual, wrought on by the need to measure itself from one occurence to the next.
Units of 'time' do not exist, therefore.
