"No problem," West said, slumping slightly. It appeared for a moment that their not-so-well-kept secret would be uncovered, but Lizzy didn't seem to think they were doing anything more than accompanying each other to the dance. That would do.

His eyes narrowed in thoughtful curiosity when Levi labeled him her opponent. "Yeah, this's just..." Stamina. "...stamina trainin'." What?! Why had he actually said that? "Can't give yer opponents the opportunity t'get more trainin' than you. Keep yer enemies close an' all that." He nodded as if he was imparting some sort of vital fighting instructions to the spider ghoul. "Not that she's my enemy. Jus' my... opponent." The demon deliberately pressed his lips together to keep more treacherous words from tumbling out. The hole he was standing in was surely large enough already.

With his hands now free, West's arms went back to their usual spot, crossed across his chest. He might have needed the comfort they provided right about now.

Mot liked keeping things vague, simply to keep from saying more than he should. But he said what he ought not to have said anyway. He didn't expect Hel to see it as a negative. Just what could she have done to believe he would think less of her?

Mot furrowed his brows, concern washing over his face, not just at her statement but her growing collection of empty punch cups. "I make no promises." He stated carefully, slowly finishing off his punch. "And mind how much you drink." If she kept that up she'd have to make a frantic run for the ghoul's room. He couldn't imagine how difficult that was in such a dress.

Mitsu grinned, "Well, I would say its because you like me. For the same reason you let me put your hair up." She reached up to lightly brush the pony tail he had. Mitsu still thought it looked nice on him and she could see his face...though it wasn't hard to tell he wasn't enthusiastic about it.

Smiling warmly she rested her head on his shoulder again her hands interlocked lightly behind his neck. "But it makes me feel special, your sweet words. Its odd but it means more to me because you don't say things like that all the time. When you do I know you mean it and you're not just saying it to say it."

Geeze. That Mot. Making the knife twist more. The ghoul sighed, and then snorted. “Mot.” She started, swirling her cup around again. “If I need to piss like a skeletal race horse if it had a bladder later, than that is my business.” She smirked a bit at him and then made a resigned sigh.

Oh fine, papa.” She teased.

Suddenly Titus' movements slowed to a stop, looking down at the feline with a hint of confusion. It was hard to manage what to say and the thing that left his mouth was probably the most unlikely statement. "I suppose you would have been better off staying with the cowboy." It wasn't said with malice or sarcasm, just a simple statement with a hint of realization. He had asked her to Prom, he had wanted to have fun but this whole...date thing, he wasn't sure of the proper protocol. Apparently he had already failed on a couple of steps.

Step One: Pick up your date = fail
Step Two: Stick with your date = mostly fail

"I'm not sure....what I'm doing," He finally admitted. "I've never had a umm....whatever this is." Date, friendship, you name it, Titus had no ******** clue.

"Ohhh," Lizzy was actually taking all of West's words very seriously, mostly because he must be an expert - or is just very serious - in this 'training' thing, if he was even training with Levi through prom. However, a small part of her found all of this very suspicious, even if she wasn't sure why.

"Well, I shouldn't keep you two from your training then!" She beamed, tucking her hands behind her as she nodded. Turning to face Levi, she gave her a quick hug, "I'll see you later! Maybe we can dance when there's a more appropriate song playing~" She dipped her head at West, and then trotted off towards the dance floor, where she was sure she had seen Mac... Ah, there he was!

She paused, watching as he danced with a pretty ghoul she did not recognize. Part of her was going 'nooooo' in mild jealousy, but it was quickly squished by the part of her who knew that she was the one who left Mac to socialize while she went off after Levi. Besides, the bigger part of her was watching, chin in hands, as Mac actually played nice; she probably looked a little silly as she stood there, staring at the two of them, sparkling away.

Amarus grinned back as Mac asked aloud if that meant she didn't trust him at all. Naturally, she wasn't about to say one way or another how she felt-- it wasn't prudent, in her warrior-mind, to tell someone exactly how much you trusted them. They could fill that information in for themselves, especially if they were trustworthy. At this point in the dance, Amarus had become reasonably adept at tuning out whatever hideous racket was playing, no offense to the skreejays-- prom music was prom music. And, in all fairness, earlier she'd loved that one song. Wasn't the first time she'd thought back to that.

"Is it?" she asked, startled by the suggestion that spinning meant trust. She would never have known she even liked dancing, nor being spun, if Mot hadn't shown her. Did it mean that she'd had to trust a new friend, in order to spin? Confusing. She had not thought about it in that way. Mac was being... very confusing. Much like her experience staring at skellyphones, this whole prom business left her slackjawed and fumbling her way through. Only this time, instead of insulting her and then casting light on the situation, Mac was just making it more and more confusing.

But none of that mattered when there was dizziness involved. Lots of dizziness. Amarus laughed, and then spun so much that she felt like she was going to bore a hole into the floor. At that moment, she was very glad that she was both still barefoot and completely intangible from the ankles down; it would probably hurt if she was neither of those. "So... that trust, did you mean that there had to be trust that you'd eventually stop? So that I don't die a second time?" she joked, in between laughing and trying to get a grip on what was going on.

"I think sometime after the third time was really my quota!" ... for now. As soon as he stopped, she'd probably want to spin again. Wasn't that just the way things were? In the middle of trying to stop spinning, she kept catching glimpses of a very cute ghoul watching Mac spin her. Could it be Lizzy?! But she didn't have the gift yet! "If that's who I think it is... I was hoping to find her something, first! This is a surprise-- I'm not sure why it is a surprise, ah-- Mac, I am so dizzy, I can hardly see straight, she is standing there watching us, right?"

Now, if Amarus could just face the same direction for more than 5 seconds, she would surely beckon the ghoul over. If there was indeed a ghoul there.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2012 12:43 am

"Yeah! Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." Mac gave a longer-than-it-should-be pause. "Sort of." Laughter followed as it always did, giving her just enough breaks between spinning and twisting her about to let her recover. He didn't want her to get sick all over him after all, not when he had a Lizzy to do things to dance with! Besides, did ghosts even get sick? He was pretty sure some of them barfed ectoplasm at the very least.

"Hmm? Oh, well, looks like you'll get have to get it later." The Psychopomp had followed Mar's spinning gaze to the ghoul who was emoting at them, finding himself quite unable to stop smiling all of a sudden. Like a good date he paused in his dancing with the ghost ghoul, holding onto her just enough to stop her from toppling over with a dizzy spell. "I'd say less standing there watching us and more staring and sparkling like a creeper." He corrected, loud enough for the Demoness to hear. Once he was sure Amarus wouldn't topple on him, he took one hand from her, extending it out towards Lizzy in an invitation.

"My creeper, though." He corrected himself, smiling fondly at his ghoulfriend. "Who should get her pretty butt over here and meet my friend before she - I mean, he -" Couldn't resist one final jab, as he winked down at Amarus with a brief chuckle. "Barfs."

"I would," he replied, watching her lean against the wall a little further. "Although I feel a little like a jerk, asking a classy lady like you for your number."Considering things were going so well, he found it hard not to lean his forearm against the wall by her head, like the thick-skulled jock he was. Old habits died hard, he supposed. Instead, the skinwalker folded his arms across his chest again, perhaps to show off the broadness of his chest and shoulders beneath the suit jacket -- which was not much better, all things considered. At least this way, she didn't feel cornered. Funny, how easily six months could be forgotten, and yet at the same time be so completely unforgettable. For a moment, Nuk's smile faded a little at the thought, a dark look passing unnoticed over his expression behind the mask, dissipating a moment later. The Priestess had given him her name, her smile only fueling his incorrigible behavior.

Placing his fist on his chest, he gave the Death horsewoman another little bow, his eyes lingering on hers. "Wingapo, Nergui. It's a pleasure to meet you. Perhaps later," he continued, amber eyes flashing beneath the mask, "you might honor me with a dance?"

... Mac just called that ghoul his friend!

Jackpot!

"Oh, was I sparkling again?" She played innocent, the sparkles disappearing completely as she calmed herself down, taking Professor QB's advice in controlling her emotions to control the... Uh, side effect of his open class. She then smiled, taking several steps forward, taking Mac's hand in her own when she could, stopping to stand beside him, "He...? No, she's clearly a ghoul. A pretty one at that!"

She tilted her head at her boilfriend, looking a little confused before turning to the student that he had been dancing with, her smile widening as she lowered her voice, as if trying to whisper... Not that she was trying very hard at all, since Mac could probably hear her over the music, "So... Mac wasn't causing you any trouble, or bullying you was he?" She had so much faith in him sometimes, "I'm Lizzy! It's nice to meet you... Uh..."

Amarus snorted. It was all kinds of cute. Which was disgusting-- adorable, but seriously, more nauseating than the spinning had been. Amarus tended to hide her actual personality away when she met anyone new, and it wasn't a rare sight for her to be laughing one second and completely poker-faced the next. Habit, self-defense, whatever you wanted to call it; Amarus hated showing her moods to strangers, especially when her Lotus-essence would allow her to calm herself if she really needed to.

This time, though, she made a conscious effort to stay real. She actually did want to meet Lizzy, even if she was shy, and the way Mac was talking it was so obvious that she had been right, and it was Lizzy watching them. Or, in Mac's words, staring and sparkling like a creeper. "Is she normally so sparkly?" she asked. That was the only thing she could say, at first, while trying to check herself so she didn't suddenly become Lizzy's opposite, that being her unemotive self, and wander off for more punch and naps. ... and suddenly, Lizzy's sparkles were gone. Amarus rubbed her eyes, shrugged, and decided not to look a Lizzy-sparkles in the mouth.

Amarus wrinkled her nose and looked up at Mac. "He indeed," she retorted, pulling herself away as if aghast. "Well, he can stand on his own, thank you! And if I happen to be sick, it's because you two are so disgustingly cute!" Amarus accused him, pointing an accusatory finger. Sighing, she turned back to Lizzy and bowed deeply. Thankfully, she was bowing around the time Lizzy called her pretty, or she would have been entirely embarassed and shown it.

"I am Amarus, Lotus Eater, friend of Mac, and now your friend as well should you accept," she said, her hands at her sides, bound and coiled hair tumbling over one shoulder as she remained bowed. Then, straightening up, she paused, her face and eyes blank as still water. She coughed. "...sorry, habits like that are hard to break." Amarus finally found it in her to reply to Lizzy's seemingly conspiratorial whisper, trying to keep herself from becoming suddenly distant and awkward again. "Bullying me? I don't think he's ever bullied me. I'm pretty sure I have you to thank, for that," Amarus replied, in her normal volume, not sure why Lizzy was whispering if he was right there!

Okay, well, she had tried to behave like a real ghoul. Unfortunately, she still needed some training, and was rough around the edges. "...for the record, I do not think I have ever 'barfed,' nor will I ever."

Christof had gone red when the charm was shoved in his pocket, glancing to Desu with a look of terror. What... what exactly was that for? It wasn't like he and Amrita...

Oh Hell's Bells.

He gave a timid sort of grunt, happily leading Amrita out in an awkward dance as the music (thankfully) changed. This was nice, spending quiet time on the dance floor with her. PROPERLY dancing. More or less. If wobbling back and forth awkwardly in eachother's arms counted as dancing.

She looked so pretty... even with the sparkles. Her stitches were neat and tidy, her face flushed and filled with light as she did that thing she did and his head was fluttering. He completely failed to step on her feet too- probably because they were twisted the opposite direction and out of the way.

This was nice.

"Yes." Mac said a little too quickly to both ghoul's comments on sparkling; to fast, actually, to hide the brief disgust in his voice. Eugh, Sparkles! She was like, some magical ghoul now...not a badass (yet sweetheart) demoness. His fingers closed around hers to prevent her from leaving again, holding her at his side as he introduced Amarus...without introducing Amarus. "Nope, sorry, boil. 'Mar is a trap." A brief pause. "Like that kelpie, only backwards." As Amarus decided to stand on his own, Mac was free to make swapping gestures with his free hand. Yes, backwards.

"...Hey!" He grumped when she went to interrogate his friend, placing his once-flopping hand on his hip in an almost saucy gesture. Almost. The saucy look didn't come though; instead he looked incredibly smug as she pretty much made a great case in his favour.

"Hey, first time for everything, pinkie." He ruffled Amarus' hair, because he could. Damn was he ever in a good mood!

Amrita did put effort into her face today; she painstakingly stitched her face plate into place, making sure each stitch was in line and proper. Normally she didn't care and even preferred to have her skull hanging out, but this was Prom, and it was always the little things that counted. Nevermind how many times she raged at realizing six stitches ahead that one was crooked. It was worth it, in the end.

She did count that as dancing, mostly because she didn't really know otherwise. Her lexicon of dances consisted of two, and she placed her trust in the Igor so thoroughly that this just had to be right. As they danced she leaned forward enough to rest her head on his monster shoulder, grey eyes closing as she just enjoyed this dance with him.

As she opened her eyes though, that familiar figure came back into her line of sight. The old friend that had so far evaded her somehow. Suddenly she stopped dancing, standing up straight to see through the crowd and confirm that yes, this was the droid Monster she was looking for! When she turned back to her date, she was all excited smiles.

"I'm sorry, I need to go take care of something real quick, okay? I'll find you again! I want another dance with you, please~" Leaning in she pressed a kiss to the tip of his nose, hugged him briefly and then turned to disappear into the crowd, going towards the wall to hunt down the ever-elusive monster. By the time she reached him though, she was losing her resolve. He had his back to her, and she suddenly couldn't be sure. Was this really Nukpana? He was the same, and yet so different! What if she was wrong? How embarrassing would that be?! Curiousity kept her feet moving and in the end lead her to tap lightly on the back of his shoulder.

"S-sorry to interrupt, but...Nuk?" The name held all the questions she needed to convey. Hope, and perhaps a lot of hesitation, lingered in her voice.

"Disgustingly cute?" Lizzy echoed, poiting her fingers together as she blushed, not-so-secretly delighted that someone actually found them cute together; in fact, she was smiling away, resisting the urge to sparkle since she knew that not everyone could appreciate it... Especially Mac. Even she had a hard time accepting it at first, although she had slowly accepted it as part of what she could do. The ghoul's compliment was also a nice change from the 'why Mac' questions she often had to answer, which might be why it had put her in an extra good mood, "Thank you, and it's nice to meet you, Amarus!"

When the ghoul bowed at her, the demoness appeared startled, before quickly bowing as well, not quite sure if she was supposed to return the greeting in the same manner that she was greeted. The apology answered that question for her though, and she found herself nodding, "Ohhh I see... No worries, and of course I accept!" She giggled, clasping the Lotus Eater's hand in her free hand, and holding it up, "Let's get along! And I'm glad... Mac's an awesome boil, isn't he?" She wanted to gush, but decided against it, mostly since Mac was there... And she gushed about him to him enough already.

"What's barf...?" She paused momentarily, "... And Calder's not a trap...?" She looked Amarus over again, wondering if this meant that maybe, the ghoul would explode on them... Or something... Like springing a trap?

"How can you not know what barf is?" Mac stared at Lizzy like she'd grown a second head that was making faces at him. Weird! "Sure, sure. I'm the best at all the things~" He said hurriedly, scanning the crowd over the ghoul's heads.

"Oop! There she is. Well, Mar, Lizzy, you two have some ghoul-boil time and I'll...catcha later!" Mar was given a pat on the head, Lizzy a kiss to her temple, and then the psychopomp disappeared into the crowd.

It didn't matter what she was doing or who she was with, but the next time Junko turned around, there was a Mac there. A smiling Mac. "Hi." A trying very hard to be nice Mac while his mind was screaming EUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH NO NOT HER! D:
