just played the demo, seems really good! the tau seem even more elite than the space marines now, seeing as how they will be out numbered in many situations (due to the high point costs)
I can't complain much, the army seems pretty balanced but just requires a little more finess to defeat (like assulting with tactical squads insdead of shooting) whirwinds are gonna be the bane of fire warriors but those battlesuites look awsome!
The demo confirmed my supicions, I think GW based the tau off "Big Robot" Anime cause all the tau sound like they have sort of asian accent and the battle suites look even bigger in the PC game.

I just played through the demo, and I'm quite happy with the tau. The only thing I don't like is picking between the Mont'ka and the Kauyon buildings, but I guess that keeps them from being too overpowered. I definitely want to know more about the commander custimization.

Yeah, I hope I will be happy with them too, Ive been a Tau supporter even though most everyone else is gushing over the necrons...psh. But whats the Mont'ka buildings and the Kauyon buildings? And why do you have to choose one? And If you mean you want to know more, as in someone telling you, here it is: In campaign mode, you will have a consistance commander dedicated to your faction. As you battle, gain territories, and progress through the campaign, your commander with gain experience in which he can use to buy upgrades. These consist of new abilities, armor, weapons, and wargear. I beleive there is also the possibility of increasing his health and damage (besides for equiping him with better armor). As a guess, i would say in skirmish mode it goes back to the old way, with select heros, or you will just be able to have a fully upgraded hero.

When you get up to Tier 2, you can build two buildings: Mont'ka and Kauyon. You can only have one or the other. Mont'ka allows the building of Crisis suits and Hammerheads. Kauyon allows the building of Kroot Hounds and Krootoxs. You have to choose whether you want Tau or Kroot for your Tier 3, basically.

yo_momma117 wouldnt that be obvious? I would want the frickin flying suits of armor over some pesky dogs and monkeys.... The 'pesky dogs' have close combat power of 250. Each. That's better than Ogryns, better than Assualt marines, better than Berzerkers, and better than most heroes.

not being a big tau player myself, i found the weapon upgrades a little condusing for some things. Like for the battle suits, the missile pods upgrade and replace the burst cannon right? I wish it specified which guns were replaced when you upgraded and what the guns they start with can do well against.
also, for a late game unit, the battle suits seem almost a little under powered at times, but mabey i'm not using them right.

Well, there is no set spot, like for Dreadnoughts, so just pay attention. I think the anti-tank and anti-infantry stay on the same arms. Since they start with a Burst Cannon and Fusion Blaster, the Flamer replaces the Burst Cannon as the anti-infantry, the Missile Pod replaces the fusion Blaster as anti-tank/vehicle.

A new patch is out, which seems to have produced an Eldar glitch: Prism Cannons fire two shots at a time, in whichever direction they please.

A week? October is still a long time away. Unless you are referring to something else completely.
