Quicksilver the Archangel

Beloved Seraph

Pasiphae heard the dissenters. The cold voice, as cold and ancient as space itself, that told her her light couldn't outshine it. The howls from the agents of Chaos

But the Senshi of Shame still had her arm interlocked with Nyx's, and though the shy girl normally hated contact she would not break this one. She had touched so many, been touched by so many. The civilian who she had sworn to protect before she vanished. Ganymede, Europa, and Valhalla... who had all reassured her in the darkest parts of the fight. Naica, a practical stranger. Even Sessrumnir, who had caught her as she fell when the Great Youma originally crumbled.

For them, for everyone, she forced herself to ignore thouse cries and continued to hope, to pray that the energy that always called forth a shield when she asked... could do something just a bit more now.

If Ganymede prayed for anything, he prayed to live. He didn't care how it happened. At this point, he didn't even care who did it. He was exhausted. This had been going on so long already. He didn't think he had anything more to give. He just wanted to go home. He wanted to go home and sleep for a long, long time, and then he wanted to wake up and see his friends and his father, and he wanted to dance and dance and dance.

He stumbled over to Valhalla, took his hand, leaned close, and closed his eyes and tried to match his breathing.

He didn't know what to say, or what to think. The only thing that crossed his mind was "Please... please... please..."

If Cancer knew that people thought she was dead she would have started shaking her a** at them.

It was probably a good thing she didn't know, and rather just kept praying.

"PRAYING FOR THE UNIVERSE TO SAVE YOUR PATHETIC ASSES AGAIN!" Hematite slammed a fist hard against the barrier. "TOO WEAK TO FIGHT YOUR OWN BATTLES!"

Ares called, and Deneb Kaitos answered. He remembered her, his savior, the woman who had, somehow, raised him back to life.

His queen.

"I am here." He said, softly. "Awaiting orders, your highness."

He wasn't sure where the convulsion to call her such came from, but it was fitting. Ares all but radiated power and demanded respect, to the newborn parallel.

She would take him, mold him into something more fitting, and lead him to glory... if he only survived.

Annnd she was hand holding in a ring with Girl-Gandalf. Ohhh it hurt the brain. Holi, trying to keep at bay the urge to look and see what the heckling rage filled crowd outside the barrier was doing, scowled slightly, and reached deeper inside, searching for more reserves. She didn't believe in faeries, she barely believed in magic, she believed in the people she was trying to protect though. She believed in the power of comfort food, the simple blessing of good chocolate as a salve for the soul. She believed that her family loved her, that her father did, bringing home presents that deliberately didn't go under the tree, to show that her birthday and Christmas were different, she believed that her mother loved her, even if she didn't show it in a way that was easy to appreciate.

She wasn't sure if digging deeper did anything other than help her refrain from venting her frustration on people that were trying to help. Even if it did nothing else, it was something to cling to in the face of that terrifying voice, that powerful force of chaos.

An eye suddenly cracked open, and she glanced up with a small amount of dismay as she finally noticed Castor. She had been preoccupied with uh... ********, Requiem, just Requiem. Nemesis wasn't going to admit aloud that she was trying this praying crap for real. She was surprised, though, when some amount of sincerity came from Castor's mouth. Had praying worked in the completely wrong way? This was not the help she had asked for Universe.

"I suppose I can make an exception on holding grudges this one time." Maybe he had buttered her up by saying she fought well. Maybe she really was just ready to accept the house. "Your brother is cooler, but you're... stronger." He was stronger than her, and that wasn't something she'd say either. "All right, Castor, I'll count on you too. I'm pretty sure we can ******** s**t up together. Big time." It was a truce, one she may not remember if they survived this battle. But, for now, they were friends.

The senshi were up to something, gathering hands and doing what...having some camp fire friendship pact? Shaking his head the blond stood slowly and grabbed his weapon as it appeared from wherever weapons went to. Looked like the barrier needed to come down, and now before the senshi did...something.

Hearing some members on the side of Chaos raise their voices and then that voice again the captain shuddered. When and how would this end? He hoped soon and in there favor but it seemed up in the air, while it hadn't seemed so up in the air in the past - in the beginning. Gripping his large brush he swung it at the barrier, he didn't have the strength he had earlier, but it was worth it to try, right? Any and every strike countered toward bringing the barrier down faster, or so he hoped.

Requiem shook her head at Nemesis.

"I had thought you were smarter than this," she started. "You will be sorry, Nemesis. I warned you. I offered you. The offer still stands, but from here on out, things will not be pretty."

Requiem then turned and leapt to stand beside Princess Ares as she and the other Dark Mirrors had been called to do.

"Nemesis is as unwilling and stubborn as ever," Requiem explained. "I don't know what I expected from her, she never was any good at seeing things in a different light, at taking suggestions, at accepting offers for help. Its disappointing, but unsurprising. We will have to show the truth, Ares."

"We can do this," Virgo's voice rang out clearly over the battlefield. It passed the barrier, and she meant it to. Let the Negaverse see what they could never have! Let them hate it, let Hematite scream. He wouldn't understand why this worked--why it would always work. "The stars, your stars, they'll answer you! You are more deeply bound to them than you know."

Always. She felt each member of the Court in which she served there like a field of lights in the darkness, every light growing brighter, and she had no doubts. There was simply no reason to worry. Praying to the universe to save them had worked once. It'd worked more than once, over and over and over, each time the Guard was sworn in. "Hold strong! Don't listen to them--they're wrong."

Virgo had a gift, and that was unwavering belief. She just had to pass it on to all the others.

Remarque heard Ares’ call and was quick to heed it; he was only a little sore from the tussle with Celsus, but whatever was going on now put him at far more unease. He moved—pausing only when he passed the female dark mirror senshi he’d bumped into before. He didn’t speak or try to get her attention, just hooked his arm with hers and pulled her closer to the Ares.

He knew that he didn’t want to die—not yet, and so he figured that Ares’ words were the most logical. Stay in a pack; they could watch out for each other, there. Stay where there were numbers—where there was strength.

Remarque bowed his head just slightly to the queen as he moved to stand a bit behind her with the others who followed her, only then releasing the arm of the blonde he’d dragged over with him.

Hematite's screaming filtered into his ears but instead of distracting him from his thoughts it just brought another conviction to his mind.

"No ... we -are- the universe. Every star, asteroid, constellation ... it is all of us." His eyes slid open and he picked out the dreadlocked General out of the group banging on the barrier. "The universe isn't helping us but the universe is going to get rid of all of you."

It might not be that day but they would force Chaos out of the surrounding. They would.

It had been a while since he'd actually prayed for anything. He didn't think it was fair to expect a God or some other force to take care of the s**t caused by themselves.

So he didn't pray. It wasn't fair when they had been the ones to cause this crap. To cause all this destruction, all this misunderstanding all this hate. It wasn't fair to expect an unworldy force to come in and clean up their s**t.

Sessrumnir did pause, though. He took the time to look around him and see how everyone else was praying, hoping for something to happen. Maybe something would, maybe something wouldn't.

If something did... it was cheating, in his book. They should be the ones to fix their own problems, make up for their own failures.

He believed they had free will for a reason... and it didn't include expecting s**t to be magically cleaned up when they'd destroyed everything on their own.

When Leto heard Ares' voice, she kicked dirt and rubble at the barrier and made her way over to her Queen. She bowed her head and folded her arms in front of her chest, taking a deep breath to calm herself. She waited in silence now, refusing to allow her temper to flair in front of Ares; she figured it was probably a little on the disrespectful side, after-all. She watched as the other Dark Mirror Senshi fell in line behind her, and couldn't help but steal a glance at the screaming General Hematite.

She smiled a little, at least comforted by the fact that she wasn't the only one ready to throw punches at the golden, glittering barrier that stood between them and the Senshi and Knights.

A voice, the voice sounded once again in the darkness, and Navi turned her head up as she listened, a grin gliding slow and cold along pale lips. So powerful, so fearsome, how could you not follow something like that? You would have to be a fool to stand against the mother of all chaos. Fools like those cowering behind their barrier.

Ares' voice caught across the quiet that followed, and the senshi of Tumbleweeds came at her calling, falling into place behind her new queen with dainty fists ready at her sides. They were her only weapons, and yet that had so far served her well, knuckles still stained with the blood of the squire.

She did spare a glance for Hematite again as he screamed and hammered against the barrier, straightening as she she'd call to him, but once again she held her tongue. He didn't seem the sort to appreciate someone worrying over him ,specially not someone so new as her. It wasn't her place, she wouldn't interfere.
