Cady obediently locked her fingers around the boil's neck. This wasn't so bad. She swung her hips a little to the beat, shuffling her feet. It was a good thing it was a slow song- she felt pretty sure she had about as much rhythm as a very...uncoordinated thing. It didn't take long before the silence felt awkward, and Cady wasn't very good at awkward silences. Or really, any silences at all. "So, you get in, um, trouble for having a tongue? Does that mean you don't usually have one? I don't suppose you have to eat then, or at least, eating would be very boring. I will have to tell Claire I was right. That's really terrible, you know. Food is very tasty. I know that ghoul Riley is very, er, fondle...fondue...FOND? Of sugar!" She paused for a moment, and thought of another line of inquiry. "Can you taste things with it, or just talk? If you can taste you really should try some of the spookies they made, they are very good!"Mmmm. Spookies.

Nyxtsuki Moon Amphi smiled as she laced her arm through her Dates, that of the taller and handsome Sheriden, Celestial dragon. They had been a little...a lot late because of Amphi's hesitant to come out of her room with her dress on. In fact even now she was getting that nervous sickness feeling as she walked with him to the prom's room. Her eyes feel on the sheer amount of students around, there was a ton! "Wow." She tugged on Sheriden's arm, smiling up at him. "Thank you again for taking me Sheriden, and for the flowers as well!" She held out her wrist with the flower corsage that had been a gift from Sheriden. It matched her dress perfectly. "Do you want to dance first?" She smiled up at him and then looked around again, Maybe she would see Ys, or Sparrow, or even those she knew less of but still knew of, Like Mac or Sarias.Sheridan was glad Amphi had come with him, even if they were a bit late, and despite that silver tint he could already feel growing. Wow, there were a lot of students here! More than he had expected, though now that he thought about he wasn't sure why he was surprised. He turned to smile at Amphi, adjusting his collar with his free hand. "You're welcome, I'm glad you liked them." He hadn't been sure if she'd like the flowers or if it was the right thing to bring them, but he had been relieved and happy to see that she had liked them. Wow, she really was pretty with those flowers, she was beautiful in that dress. "Okay." A smile, a flick of his tail as he led her to the dance floor. He'd really never danced much before, he hoped he was too bad at it.

Skario cart wasn't romantic at all! Thank jack! Claire's sense of relief was just getting stronger. " I didn't go to open house but this bear girl who attended it kept mailing me about a good time or something." Claire despised Owl. But that was another story. Moure had asked Claire about her intentions. WAT DO? WAT DOOOOO? " I, um." Song change, and Claire paused for just a moment to think " I like you." with a smile. And that was all she had to say.

The music had picked up, but Christof was feeling a bit more relaxed. At least the urge to bolt and hide again had lessened a bit. He shifted from side to side, "Er... I hawe tried thpookieth before but er... it maketh me feel thick." His mouth twitched into what was almost a bashful smile. "Ewerything thort of tathteth like um. Winnegar, though. It'th um. A p-pickled tongue. What I could find on um. Thort notithe. I um. Hawe a tongue. But um. Itth um. Not here. Hard to replathe."

Lizzies little jig got a huge grin from Charlie. It was something he wish he thought of doing. Before he could join in though the demoness had taken his hands and began slow dancing with him. Lizzy lead of course and Charlie didn't mind following her lead. That was til the song changed to feel good inc. The demon let go of Lizzy and began dancing his own little dance. "COME ON LIZZY~" Though by this time he was wandering if Amrita was still at the black jack tables. He'd forgotten to drag her along with him when he left.

Shun's gaze shifted to her hand briefly as she had given it a squeeze. He took her words and considered them. It wasn't all too often that he would be told that he was 'the best', not with the heavy amount of disappointment his father always laid onto him. There was something about that, as well as her other comment that felt rather good. "I'm glad to have made it happen," he said quietly in return. The reaper wasn't too sure what else to say. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy things too because he actually didn't mind this all that much. He just had a hard time pinpointing what it was here. It was all really kind of weird to him, but in a good way. When the song ended, his movements came to a stop. He slowly released the girl before stepping back and bowing down to her once more. "Thank you for the dance." --- Being nicely refreshed now, Jericho made his way back to the table where he noticed Mot was relaxing. Grinning to the cowboy, he took a seat before glancing out to the dance floor. "Taking a break from putting on the moves?"

"... ... ..."
She stared at Charlie's 'dance', her mouth hanging slightly open as she simply stood there on the dance floor; the change in music was obvious, yes, but she was too busy staring at the boil with a semi-horrified, semi-amused expression to react accordingly. In fact, the more she stared at Charlie, the more she was unsure of how to react, her expression shifting between amusement and embarrassment for him. When she was asked to join in, however, she stiffened, looking away as she blushed.
"Uh, that dance is too special for me to follow! In fact, I think I should go back to the table!" She grinned, gave Charlie a thumbs-up, and then made her way back to the- Oh look, refreshments table! Grabbing a plate, she begun pilling it up with all sorts of desserts - tiny cakes with whipped cream on top, brownies, all sorts of cookies, jellies, etc - and then grabbed a handful of lollies just for Charlie, as well as utensils.
Perhaps Riley could have some sugar tonight as well. Just for prom. That and Lizzy was still feeling bad about her date leaving her blind on the dance floor after that awesome dance... This would be an apology, yes.
Setting the plate of desserts, lollies and utensils down on the table away from the sausages, she took a seat next to Mot before grabbing a fork. Tilting her head at him, she grinned, holding up the fork, "Do you like sweets, by any chance?"

As he led Tomoko around the floor, Jove started to think dancing wasn't so bad after all. It was actually kinda fun the way Tomoko just moved along with him, how he could get her to go where he wanted with just the slightest bit of pressure on her hip, or by moving her arm. He made a muttered noise to get her attention, and then glanced briefly up at the ceiling as though saying "Hey. Heeey. Look up." It was always easier to dance when you weren't looking at your feet, the posture was more correct with your chin up and your back straight. One of the taller students moved into their path, and Jove broke the hold to give Tomoko a little twirl so they could stay out of the way. On the surface he seemed unconcerned, but inwardly he was puffing up as much as ever. Just because he was small didn't mean it was okay to run over the ghoul he was dancing with! The pup almost took it as a personal affront. But it wasn't long before the music changed into something more upbeat again, and his shy, blushing expression returned. So, they had danced. Now what?

Malodore ran one hand down the back of Riley's head and the tentacles there - though, of course, it avoided touching one tentacle in particular. That wouldn't do at all, and would in fact be counter to Nurse Cricket's sage advice. After seeing that poor minipet at the exams... It chased the thought away. That was then, this was now. Now was light and sound and color and music, and Riley cuddled up against it. If anyone had told it that it would be cuddling anything, when it first arrived here, it would have laughed in their faces. And yet... Hm. The music shifted, then, to something a bit bouncier, shaking Malodore out of its reverie. It nodded to Riley, opening its beak in a smile. "Oh dear. I've no idea what one does with this music. Except I don't think I'm suited for, ah, that... that thrusting motion."

She was looking up, really! Though there was a moment where she actually did look up at the ceiling, as though she was wondering if Jove had noticed something up there that she hadn't. It seemed that it wasn't the case, however, and she soon just straightened up.
She just couldn't help but be paranoid that she was going to misstep and then disaster would strike (and then someone would be in her room bowling with her ball of stars.). Tomoko took a deep breath and just kept her eyes on the boil, assuming and hoping that he'd keep from leading her astray.
Which he did. That much was sure.
She had to keep from breaking out into giggles when the ghost twirled her to keep her out from underneath another student's feet. Any other boil probably would have been thinking just how smooth of a move it had been. The kitsune was beaming when she was finished being twirled, possibly more than she had been the entire evening.
But then the music changed and the dance was over. Tomoko took a moment to brush some hair back behind one of her enormously fluffy ears.
She looked at the other students still dancing, then grabbed Jove's hand to head off of the dance floor. Tomoko leaned the side of her head so it touched the side of his; "Thank you for the dance, Jove-kun~" she preened, content.

"You didn't even invite me to join you." Invictus said in a matter of fact manner. "Instead you went and had a good time and left me to watch. Not to say I would have joined in with the...festivities. I'm sure everybody who was participating would have enjoyed remaining...standing." he added with a long pause, seeming to have noticed somebody he knew across the room from them, brows lifting ever so slightly.
"It seems Eris decided to come as well." he said, sharing his observation, before his eyes shifted back to Calder.
"You truly shouldn't be offended that you haven't made me smile. Remaining neutral requires less effort than any extreme show of facial muscle." The horseman leaned into the table as well, resting one cheek against the back of his hand as though he was going to tell the Kelpie a secret... ....
which he did;
"If I were to... 'let loose', nobody in the room would be on their feet and your headmistress would have some words with me." It was quite obvious that Invictus was implying that formal events, while necessary, weren't his idea of 'fun'.
"Don't think that just because I am new here, I haven't learned things about you since you spoke to me in the library. That I haven't made any attempts to figure out what ulterior motives you could possibly have. Everybody has an ulterior motive to what they do."
A slight smirk formed on the horseman's face. Pursuing information may have been one of those things he enjoyed but hadn't flat out said. He was like an army General, learning about the enemy.
"And everybody has one."

...Did they have a good chat.
Did they have a good chat. Suddenly, Mac felt a little guilty because yes - part of it was a really good chat. The beginning was terrible, the ending was disappointing, but the middle part? That was better than good. It was something he didn't expect to happen, especially in light of the circumstances, and so he did feel somewhat guilty over it, for Tess' sake; he did not regret it, though.
"...Yeah." He murmured, waving his hand in dismissal. Instead of lingering on this particular train of conversation, the Reaper glanced down at her and noticed, perhaps for the first time, that the marks across her skin looked pretty fresh. He thought they were always there due to her usually modest dress, but...apparently not?
"What happened?" He inquired pretty quickly, pointing at the marks on her chest before leaning over to get them both punch. Punch was had, a glance back at the dance floor and he caught Lizzy and Charlie's dance, which caused a laugh, and soon enough he was leading her back to the table for now.

OH!! How terrible of him. He left Invictus to sit and watch, and while he didn't think the boil would mind, he had only gave the impression he was snubbing him and made him feel left out. "I'm sorry. I ..I didn't think you'd mind. I mean, I didn't really think you'd be interested at all. I didn't mean to start dancing. I was going to take Riley off the dance floor to keep her from .." He had to pause here to think of exactly what she had been doing, but went with what she had intended to be doing. " ..dancing and making a fool of herself. She pulled me in and then...all that happened." He gestured out to the dance floor where moments ago, a gang of boils had been his thrusting and every manner of crude dance gesture. "I'm sorry. I got caught up in it. I never meant to make you feel left out. It's just, well, your lack of expression came off as you not really enjoying dancing at all." For the most part, all of Invictus' decisions had been given with half interest. A 'do what you want' tone that just meant he'd go along but wasn't exactly skipping at the though of it.
If he didn't feel bad about how poorly he was keeping to his promise of being the best date ever for Prom, he was feeling even worse when Invictus leaned in and instead of telling him some deep secret that would have bounded them together for all eternity, only just made Calder a tad more wary about the many warnings he heard and had been told about the horseman. Dangerous being the most common. Still, Calder liked to think every bad boil was misunderstood, and like the eyelash-batting ghoul in the story, he wanted to be the one to get closer. He just hoped he wasn't a smoldering heap after.
No. He HAD to redeem himself.
Of course, to throw him further off, Invictus admitted he might know a lot more about Calder than what the kelpie might choose to reveal to him. JACK! Did he know about that detention now? Ugh. He was sure if the horseman asked around about him, he was sure to find out about that insane gossip that continued from that mark. That he was some mad killer out for blood and drowning little ghouls in fountains. His lips pressed tight at the thought of his image ruined further, but - well, now they were being honest. That's what made relationships stronger, right? Right.
He took a breather and smiled back. "My motive is to make you crack a smile that doesn't involve blowing up the school, and to keep true to my promise to you." He would be the best date here. Rising, he held out his hand to Invictus. "Come with me."

Shapely hips swayed to and fro, moving with the beats that played with impressive accuracy. Her hands were high above her head, waving seductively as she twirled and continued to dance all the way down the corridor and into the loud, spacious Prom room. Her eyes were sparkling in the light, or however much light swung around the room in different colors and patterns...and were masked in just enough eye-shadow to accentuate their brilliant, orange hue.
She did not look lost in her approach, although her head did swivel over her shoulder once...and then twice in obvious search of something. Or someone, as it was. A long, bi-colored tail was curled off of the ground and tied with a black ribbon near its end, which went well with the rest of her ensemble: A long, skin-tight, pin-stripe dress which slit all the way up her left leg, booties with medium heels blending perfectly with black thigh-high stocks, and pearls draping across her neck and through her side-bun. The monster's gloved arms clutched a single, tiny purse which could not hold much more than the black lipstick across her mouth and maybe the perfume she wore for freshening up...but it was beautiful in its own right, mysterious almost as it could be seen one minute and simply gone the next.
And as she walked through the doors and toward the dance floor, Natalia scanned the faces that partied all around her. This was her kind of scene, a room filled with people packed so close together that a brief moment of bumping and grinding on a complete stranger was inevitable...and perhaps welcomed? Furry white ears twitched at the sides of her head, listening carefully to the voices which belted across the room, trying to find those that were familiar to her.
And there were several in her vicinity.
But the tall, white student would wait for her date to stop being so shy and enter through the doors. They were, after all, together for the night.

Why had Claire left him? "Hell if I know," Roch said as the music changed, changing the style slightly. It was surprisingly easy to dance with Danny, so easy that he didn't even feel like a derp. "One moment we're dancin, you know, goofin' off, then she sees her brother kiss some chick and wanders away, and sure I like Claire, she feels like a little sister in a way, but I ain't gettin' involved in family affairs. So I went and played the games for a bit, then came back and saw you three." He was liking the new song, he thought. He could really get into it. Glancing over to where Claire and Moure were dancing, he shrugged. "And it looks like we've traded dates," he said. He guessed hanging out with Danny (other than the Stupid Roch thing and probably less eating) was about the same as hanging out with Claire, so who cared?

Jove's blush felt bright enough to light up the room when Tomoko thanked him for the dance. Why was she thanking him? He might have even danced more if he wasn't feeling so self-conscious all of a sudden. Why did this prom thing have to be so complicated? He let Tomoko lean against him as they left the floor, and somehow worked up enough courage to give her a glance. The blush lent it a shy impression, as though saying "What do we do now that we've danced?"
