First and second years:
Well done Sparrow! 10 points to Gryffindor! Indeed, their voices are extremely shrill and they can only communicate with other pixies. I’m not completely sure if they are annoyed by screaming and loud noises, as none of that is mentioned in any of the books I have read about then and I have never heard of it. But it is quite possible of course. 5 points to Slytherin for participating to the lesson, Dorian and I’ll search about that and will award you the points if I find that information. And that’s right, Liviana. They do sound like arguing birds. 10 points to Ravenclaw! Pixies are classified as XXX creatures. Can anyone tell me what that means?

Well said, Harmony! 10 points to Slytherin! They are, in fact, small, 3-4 feet tall dwarf-like creatures with red eyes that live underground and are found in places where they can find blood, like battle fields. They are also usually found in Northern Europe. As you said, they attack muggles when they are alone. They are classified as XXX creatures. Can one of you tell what that means?

Ravenclaw, 2nd Year

Nam's face dropped with disbelief when Dorian received half points. "I swear she has something against Slytherin..." he mumbled below her hearing, suspicious of his own outrage. He nodded at Heart's answer, keeping in mind her previous thank you and hoping she wouldn't take offense as Sparrow had when he went on. "The danger scale ranges from one 'x' to five 'x's, one being 'boring' and five being deadly." He was joining in more to distract himself than anything (his mind was any where but on pixies right now), but it was futile. With his pallid indignation came a bout of fool-hardiness. He leaned close to Dorian once more, whispering, "Wanna come to the library with me?"

First and second years:
Correct, Heart! 10 points to Ravenclaw! The Xs are used to classify creatures based on their danger level and a creature classified as XXX, like the pixie, is one that competent wizards should cope with handling that species. And, as Nam said, the scale ranges from X to XXXXX. X creatures being classified as boring and XXXXX being deadly, known wizard killers and impossible to train or domesticate. 10 point to Ravenclaw, Nam!

Oh and Dorian, I have found another book about pixies and I have found that these flying creatures are indeed annoyed by loud noises and screams. So, as promised, I shall award you the other 5 points to Slytherin!

Pixies are usually found in Cornwall in England.

Now, I have brought a pixie for you to see what they look like. *I walk over to my desk and, with a wave of my wand, a tarp is lifted to reveal a bright blue pixie in a small bird cage. *This one is an adult and as you can see it’s around nine inches tall. The average height of an adult pixie is around eight inches.

Now, how would you get away from a pixie? Does anyone want to share what they would do if they had to face one?

Alright. Red caps are classified as XXX creatures. That category contains the creatures that competent wizards should cope with.

Ok, if you look over there *I say, pointing to a wall where there was a projection of a red cap* you can see an image of a red cap. If you look closely, you can see it has long and sharp nails. You can see as well that red caps wear iron boots, but don’t be fooled, it can run with incredible speed. Some even say it is impossible to outrun one. You can also see that it’s hat is red, blood stained, which is the reason why they are called red caps. Can anyone tell me why their hats are stained with blood?

Alright fifth, sixth and seventh years, you will now change the way you practice the spell a bit. You will again practice this spell with a partner but this time, one of you will try to block the spell using protego. Afterwards, you can try to block it using another spell. For example, perhaps immobilising the pillow. Alright, you may continue practising the spells!
