All good is hard, and all evil is easy. Dying, losing... Jessie was, of course, the first to reach the scene. He stood beside the two onlookers, only one of which he recognised - Odin - as she was one of his students. He'd already had time to take in the wrecked boat - he could see a couple of bodies on deck. It was incredibly lucky that Lorika had sought to come and find the missing acolytes. She would be sorely needed here.
He addressed his question to her, tone hard. "What happened here? Who's on board? How long have you been here? Did you see the crash?"
Behind him, he could hear Lorika approaching far more rapidly. She'd obviously abandoned her silly women's shoes. ...Cheating and mediocrity are easy. Stay away from easy.

"It's not enough to know your limits.. Odin cursed under her breath when she caught sight of what lay at the beach. She had barely absorbed what had happened when two newcomers arrived on the scene.
She was startled by being addressed by one of them and she squinted a bit to see who they were. The one carrying the light was the High Priestess. And the other one, the person who was talking to her..
"Sir!" she stood at attention when she saw that it was the Captain fast approaching.
"I'm not sure, sir. I barely just got here myself. But if there's any way I can help, sir.." she trailed off adjusting her footing on the loose sand.
((yes, Odin is clumsy on sand.. >__< ))..but to know what you must do to go beyond them."

Be good...
Having spared a few seconds to hear Odin's explanation, Lorika ran towards the boat. She was almost sorry she'd thrown her shoes off as she attempted to scramble aboard the wrecked boat, lantern still in hand. She cried out as some splinters entered her foot while she felt for a foot hold.. but her pain could wait. She gave a squeak as she suddenly felt two hands under her behind, and cried out again as she was suddenly, powerfully boosted up and onto the decking in one fluid movement before her mind had a chance to realise what was happening. She limped into a standing position and turned round to the Jessie vaulting athletically up onto the deck behind her. He obviously hadn't wanted to spend too much time talking to the two girls when he could be helping...
Holding her light source aloft, she saw a young redheaded woman sitting vacantly on the deck, as if she were shellshocked. She didn't seem to be injured or in pain, and so the priestess turned her tatention to the open cabin door.
She would have tripped over Evelyn, collapsed on the stairs, if her injured foot weren't forcing her to slow down. "Evelyn! ....Harata!" Harata was against the opposite wall.. she appeared fine, just as the redhead atop did, if rather blank... the shock and cold mustve been getting to them. But why hadn't one of them come to find help...?
Then she noticed two figures over by the controls. A familiar, white-haired figure slumped over the panel... and Kyo? Kissing him?!
She sucked in her breath and trotted past Evelyn as quickly as she could manage. She heard Jessie call something out on the deck, but couldn't make out what it was. He could handle it by himself, anyway. She was needed down here.
"Out of the way!" she commanded, shoving Kyo away from the unconscious form he'd been violating. Sweeping back the Overseer's fringe with her hand, she saw blood coating his forehead. Now, she could also see the red, vital liquid pooling on the controls...
Examining the rest of his body quickly, she could find no evidence of swellings or breaks... it was only his head. Sucking in her breath, she performed a quick search for glass in the wound and worryingly found many small pieces dotted through his hair. She could waste time trying to pick them all out, or... she could use enough power to dissolve any foreign bodies beneath the skin.
Placing her hands on both of the Overseer's cheeks, she concentrated hard, closing her eyes and searching for the sense of inner peace necessary for this level of magic. The waves lapped slowly against the shore... she could feel nothing but her own breathing, and warm devotion to the man who lay injured before her. The air in the cabin seemed to ripple - her robes swayed faintly in a non-existent breeze.

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. The red-haired woman stared off beyond him as he tried to rouse her. His attempts had devolved from asking her questions to simply snapping his fingers in front of her face. It had been less than a minute, but as her wide eyes remained unfocused, he knew he wasn't going to get any response.
He turned his attention to the rest of the boat, straightening up. What an old clunker...! Still, old or not, it was difficult for a ship to simply... run aground, especially on this gentle part of the Island's coast. The captain must've been at fault. Lorika would be finding out, he imagined - he'd seen her disappear beneath deck a few moments after he began attempting to get the woman's attention.
He moved to the side railings and inspected the water below. is heart lurhced when he saw an incredibly unwelcome sight... a body in the water. Afloat, but constantly being lapped over by water... there was no way the person could still be alive. Was there?
"Man overboard!" he shouted, as was customary. Nimbly, shucking off his three layers of robes, he also undid the leather weapon holders which made their home out of sight beneath them. They fell to the decking with a clunk, and he dove into the water...
It was cold, of course, and he hadn't swum in the ocean for several months. But with his strength and nautical experience, not to mention being so close to shore, he knew he was in absolutely no danger. This was almost like swimming in a paddling pool for him. He remained under water to swim, coming up beneath the prone form of the drowning person in order to carry them effectively. Things were suddenly complicated, as he realised with a shock that the person had wings. However, he adjusted his grip, head above water, and once things seemed more sound he began kicking towards the shore.

Harata looked at the Overseer. "He is safe?" Then she turned to Evelyn. "And you, are you safe?" She turned to Lorika. "Kyo was helping by kissing him. That is how he heals. The Sentinel, the Feline girl? Where are they? Are they fine?" (((Harata is ever so concerned sounding. -gigglesnort- There was blood pulsating out of the overseer's head, and all she can think to say is, is he okay? Really?))

"It's not enough to know your limits.. ((yay for Lorika's fixin' powers ))
As soon as the last word fled her lips the pair swiftly moved passed her and boarded the boat. Moving as quickly as her botched up coordination would let her, Odin scrambled to get to the wreckage.
Huffing audibly she looked up at the broken facade of the ship. She proceeded to scale the side of the boat happy to get her feet off the sand.
Halfway there, she heard the Captain shout something. She hurried herself and as she peered at the edge of the railing onto the deck Odin saw the Captain dive off the side.
Pulling herself up she was surprised to see someone else. She walked over to the other red head and saw that her eyes seemed clouded over, like she was looking at something not quite there.
Odin tapped the woman's shoulder and squatted in front of her.
"Miss, are you hurt? Is something wrong?"
Getting no response, she sighed and looked around the deck. Suddenly she remembered the Captain jumping off the other side.
Odin got up and ran to the railing peering down at the sea...but to know what you must do to go beyond them."

Be good...
The wave of energy died down. Lorika felt around the Overseer's head - the wound had healed perfectly, though the blood was still there.
"Don't touch him!" she directed at Kyo, while moving quickly to tend to Evelyn. "Evelyn...?"
She seemed to be half-awake, but not conscious enough to speak, which Harata, whose voice sounded like buzzing in Lorika's ear, didn't seem to realise. Examining her head, Lorika could find no injuries. She appeared fine, in fact, until the priestess reached down and pulled up her robes. There, she saw a clearly broken ankle, swollen and angry, but hardly life-threatening.
Closing her eyes, she put her hands together. A small sigh escaped her lips - and the two unconscious bodies slowly raised themselves off the ground.
[Levitation]
She manoeuvred them slowly through the open door at the top of the steps - Evelyn first, as she was nearest. She didn't say another word to Harata or Kyo - simply shot them a glare that said follow, if you wish: we have a lot to talk about.
Then, the priestess limped back up the stairs, still ignoring her own wound even though it had begun to bleed. There would be time for it later. The two bodies floated over the railings and down, gently, onto the sand. She joined them shortly, pouring out more of her strength into lifting herself up and down beside them in a graceful arc. She wasn't feeling very graceful, though. In fact, she was feeling worse by the second. But there was still more to be done...
...and you will be lonesome.

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. Having changed his position halfway through the swim - the woman's wings really did make things awkward - Jessie found the hold of sand under his bare feet, and rose from the water with the winged creature on his back. The Priestess was up ahead, near to the other onlooker, and tending to two casualties. He jogged up to her and carefully placed his rescued catch on the sand, parallel to the others. Three bodies all in a line - it was a somewhat surreal, if macabre, sight.
"She's in a bad way," he said to the Priestess, who shifted over from the prone, blonde-haired acolyte to take a look at the strange creature. He shivered, and remembered his robes were left on the boat.
Turning to go and get them, he saw Odin watching proceedings from up on the deck. So, he called to her. "Odin! Throw down my things, if you please! ...And try and bring the lady down here, too!" Those who watch their backs meet death from the front. ~~ Drow proverb

Harata followed, sighing. "I told him I would drive it. But he wanted to try." This she murmured to herself, an after thought. She nodded at the Captain, a realized that once again, this would, with all probability, be blamed on her. Then she noticed the Feline in Jessie's arms. "Is she..." She shook her head. No doubt. This time, you are rightly being blamed.

Y'know, I buy all the presents I give out in aquariums..
[Heal]
Having poured a small amount of energy into treating Evelyn's ankle, Lorika was pleased with how the swelling receded. Her ankle slowly began to take on its normal shape, colour and size. As she watched, she heard something that sounded like it was dripping wet coming up behind them.
Looking round from her kneeling position, she saw the Captain - more bare flesh than she'd ever seen on him showing, with Feline on his back! Where had she come from? What had Lorika missed?
He placed her down on the ground, and gave his grave prognosis on her condition. She shifted over, bringing the lantern with her, and looked first at the woman's face...
She couldn't help but gasp. The woman's thin covering of fur only made the paleness beneath more prominent. Her wings, which the Captain had taken care to set down gently beneath her, were bedraggled and sopping wet, but that was not all. One of them was streaming with blood, and obviously broken from the angle it was sitting at. She reached to the woman's neck to feel for a pusle, and... oh, god. She felt again, searching for anything. But there was nothing...
Brushing back her own hair, she leaned forwards and began to pump on Feline's chest. After five compressions, she parted her hands and leaned down further, opening the woman's mouth and tweaking her tongue to move it from the airway. She then took a deep breath and, pinching the woman's cat-like nose as closed as possible, pushed the air into her mouth. Her chest rose slightly - but there was no other response.
She repeated this gesture another eight times, with no success. Things were looking grim. There was nothing that could be done to save the woman now, if she didn't respond...
Not under normal circumstances, anyway. Feline had no idea how lucky she was. She was being treated by a High Priestess.
...I have the receipts to prove it. ((Lmao, Harata has absolutely no feeling for how serious this all is >3>))

"It's not enough to know your limits.. There were two that Lorika tended to, and the one the Captain just pulled out of the water made that three. Three bodies, either unconscious or.. No, she did not want to go there. This was starting to get serious and Odin did not like it.
Hearing the Captain's instructions she looked around her on the deck and found his robes. he slung them over her left shoulder and found leather holsters beneath them. She placed those on as well, grunting at the unexpected weight of them.
Odin then turned her attention to the lady sitting on deck. She walked up to the other red head and grabbed her wrist. The woman barely moved and continued to watch nonexistent clouds. The shorter red head then grabbed the taller's other arm and heaved her up with a grunt.
"Man, you're a stubborn one, aren't you?" she mumbled as she pulled her up.
Steadying herself and the other woman she readied herself for what she was going to do next. With another audible grunt Odin piled the unresponsive woman onto her other shoulder and gripped her tightly.
She motioned to the side of the railings with much effort and positioned her legs under her shifting the weight of herself, the dazed woman and the Captains things.
"I really hate the sand," she said quietly as she jumped off the side of the boat.
She expected to land face first onto the beach but when she opened her eyes she saw that their combined weight kept her upright.
Straightening herself up, she adjusted her hold on the lady and moved towards where the Captain and the High Priestess were.

All good is hard, and all evil is easy. Dying, losing... Unsurprisingly, Jessie greeted the green-haired teenager who peeked over the railings with a scowl. Folding his arms across his bare chest, he glared up at her.
"I might have known you'd have something to do with this. Perhaps YOU could tell us what happened here?"
EDIT: As Odin approached him, he unfolded his arms and motioned for the girl to allow him to take part of her burden - the woman, not the clothes. "Well done - very well done. You handled that excellently," he praised. Well, if her actions so far weren't praiseworthy, he didn't know what was. ...Cheating and mediocrity are easy. Stay away from easy.

"It's not enough to know your limits.. "Ah! Thank you, sir," she said shakily as she helped the woman into his arms. The relief flooded her as the weight of another person was removed from her.
She handed him her things and stood aside.
"Is there anything else I can do for you, sir?"
She glimpsed up at the deck, she didn't notice Harata was up there as well...but to know what you must do to go beyond them."
