[Moggie : Traverse Town : Second District Rooftops]

Moggie let out a small gasp as the crazy guy was attacked by one of the girls that was with them before and that crazy little guy, Kuropo, she believed his name was. But how'd they get here so fast?

'Never mind that,' The moogle thought, then with a shot of horror as Suzuran was thrown like a rage doll. Luckily, she was caught by Soryuju.

The Moogle slowly walked over to them, looking at the girl, "You okay?" she said, "Next time I see him, I'll be sure to fry him, Kupo." Moggie was only half joking before she glanced at Soryuju when he apologized. She raised her eyebrow, "I don't see what the problem is, I am sure if we didn't show up that guy would of fried you. And here you thought my trying to cook that little midget was mean...."

With that the moogle looked away, turning her back to him, appearing to be fidgeting.

Solaris

Sorry...
...I'll be taking my leave now.

{Traverse Town : Third District: Merlin's House}

So it had only ever been on Disney. And even in all of Merlin's travels he hadn't seen one. That would suggest that either that Cornerstone was the only one in existence, or they were hidden in the far reaches of the universe. That information filed itself away in his brain subconsciously while Solaris tightened the grip on his staff. He had heard the sudden stop, seen Merlin grip his wand tighter than before. He'd even felt the magic that had made Merlin stop. Even through all of the magical power that was currently surrounding him. And that was certainly saying something. A scary level of power was present.

Still...he wanted to know what it was. So he got up and moved closer to the entrance. It was clear that he had no intention of leaving the safety of the house, so Aerith wouldn't need to worry about that, but he just wanted to be able to hear what was happening.

Listening in, he heard a rather loud greeting in response to Merlin's questions. A rather familiar greeting. Not so much the greeting itself, but the voice. And then the same voice proceeded to identify itself. Why did the name Nalo sound familiar? Ah. Of course. That was the odd looking man with Enyb. Satisfied, he went and sat back down in his seat. He still wasn't sure how he felt about Nalo. He certainly hadn't had enough time to get used to him. Still, he hadn't seemed like a bad person. So he at least deserved a greeting. Whenever Sol caught sight of Nalo, he would raise a hand in greeting, stopping as soon as he saw Window and Artemis and would sheepishly put down his hand.

[Third District : Merlin's House]

The moment Vain's name was mentioned, Merlin seemed to release a bit more of the built up tension, going so far as to sigh while adjusting his glasses somewhat. So it had just been him...

Before he could respond, Merlin was interrupted by the young man (identified as Window) falling backward into the water, which was deep enough to swim in. Flicking his wand somewhat, he used magic to quickly lift Window out of the water and safely drop him on his feet once again, as dry as if nothing had happened.

"Now now, can't be too careful," Merlin said, smiling at Window reassuringly. "And yes, I am Merlin. How may I help you?"

Take a deep breath-

Suzu attempted to summon the wind around her, and beckoned on the water to come too. But being thrown made things a little harder, for one, she falling faster.

Ah, Kami-sama... this is not going to work. She could feel the wind only beginning to form underneath her fingertips and the descent to the rooftops was happening much quicker. She anticipated the landing, roofing everywhere, maybe some dust, oh- can't forget whatever magic the man just casted. Suzu closed her eyes praying that she wouldn't get too mutilated.

"Ommpfh!" No tiles flying, the heiress let go her pent up breath of relief. As Sory set her down on the ground, she smoothed out her kimono with a mocking look on her face. "Had to do that? Yes, Soryuju... it was such a chore," the geomancer jested, a wry smile making its way up her face. "Lighten up, you would do the same for us.

~Window~

[Traverse Town::Merlin's House]

Today was full of odd sensations, it seemed. Adding one more onto the list was Window's rather sudden halt in descent into the lake that had just begun to cover his abdomen with its frigid fingers of water. Falling is so quick of an act, that to stop and upright his body made Window's head spin even more. It took more than a few seconds for the world to settle down, and by the time it did, Window was surprised to find that he had not a speck of water on him. It gave him goosebumps, and not just from the sudden temperature change; it was from the feel of magic, the way it caught him and...almost seemed to interact with his body, giving him a tingle all over. It was much different than when he had received the shock from Nalo's green shield earlier, more controlled and gentle and...alive, if that was the word for it.

Still, he was able to shake off the effects after ten seconds, leaving a noticeable gap between Merlin's query and Window's reaction. He nodded his head gratefully toward the man in blue--Merlin--and said, "Thank you very much for your kindness and generosity, Merlin. I am sure my visit would not have been as pleasant if I were to remain wet." Window looked over to Nalo, and he felt a little bit of warmth inside as he registered the return of the Nalo he liked--cheery, friendly, and outgoing, if a little bit too much so, and always overly inquisitive. Looking back toward Merlin, he raised his hand and turned it so the back of it was facing the older man, using in the same gesture of greeting he had given Nalo when he first arrived. "Yes. I am called Window." Merlin seemed friendly enough, and there was something comforting about his little abode. Window felt the adrenaline exit his system as he dropped the tension he had held ever since first walking out of the cafe. He had never been this stressed and physically tested in his entire life. His mind was in pieces and his emotions scattered, leaving everything about him drained. The man's limbs began to slightly tremble from exhaustion. Window glanced down at his hands, unused to the feeling, and almost audibly sucked in his breath--his hands weren't trembling...they were wavering, their outlines blurred, as if his body was having trouble keeping itself together in one piece! He blinked his eyes rapidly several times, trying to clear them. When he looked again, everything seemed back to normal. Either this world was messing with his eyesight, or it was messing with his body, he decided. Window wondered whether he should ask about it, or if anyone would even have a clue.

The man didn't know how one went about conducting conversations with people in power in the world of Traverse Town, but it was polite back on his homeworld to avoid direct and blunt questioning and answering; one would get to the subject eventually, but in the meantime, smaller matters would be addressed first as the two parties became comfortable with one another. Before Nalo could get out another hasty response, Window replied, "Merlin, sir, if it is not too much of a burden, my most immediate concern is a sip of water. I am afraid that we underwent a number of trials on our journey here, leaving all of us very tired. I would be in your debt if we could ask such a boon of you."

The girl barely had time to duck down onto the roof as the dragon spread the fire. She didn't seem him disappear, but pulled herself up and walked over to the group. She shook her head, chuckling.

"Really, Soryuju, I'm used to this. From where I'm from, we Dragon Knights do double duty: we ride dragons, and kill the enemies dragons when we have to. And I couldn't let them have all the fun," she said to him. She rolled her shoulders (an action she was doing a lot of lately) and gave the group a smile.

"And she's right. You'd do the same if she got kidnapped, or if I did." They were a team, as ragtag as they were. And just because she was a loner most of time, didn't mean she didn't play her part in groups.

Alex just didn't function as well in them.

ÅΓ╦ΣMφ§

"Someone with no destiny is like a blank page with no utensil to write with."

Waving casually, he bowed for a moment, and returned to his original position. His eyes were wide with the sight of the magic, as Window levitated, suddenly dry as if nothing had happened. He grinned, interested in the magic, but he remained quiet, so the more important conversations could continue.

"Yeah. That would be great!" nodding in agreement with Window. Scratching his arm, he looked down, realizing that where a wound should be, was a blood stain. That 'Cure' skill that that Nalo had defiantly worked wonders. Everything that had happened to them had gone so quickly, yet not; so complex, that he had trouble bending his mind through the maze of what was now reality. Knowing that there must be something at the end of the maze, his friends along side him, gave him hope. Although there was always that darkness that lingered, even at the end.

[Nαlσ]

Nalo stood up. He stared at Window inquisitively, wondering why he always deflected questions like that. Nalo stayed silent and cradled his arms. His heart had finally stopped beating so heavily; he took in a deep breath and sighed. The grass beneath his feet felt plush. It has been a while since he felt grass on the pads of his feet. He almost didn't want to go inside. Since early morning, he'd been running around town.

He'd been poisoned. His ear drums had overloaded from that woman screaming. He and Enyb ran between the districts avoiding Orpheus the zombie and heartless swarms. Then came the onslaught of heartless in the second district. Then the third district. Then the smoke ninja and more heartless. Nalo needed a nap.

Just as he stood up, he sat back down in the grass and leaned his head back against Merlin's house. "I.." He stared before yawning. "don' wanna be rude, but...Please, continue without me. I need to..." Another yawn. "Take a nap." He gently closed his eyes. At first it hurt, like stretching after a long workout, but slowly the pain left him and he felt fine. His hands wandered through the thick, yet still very finely manicured grass until they found a suitable spot. His legs spread and stretched, probing the earth beneath him. Sleep overtook him.

((Alright, so I really don't like he way Nalo's been talking. It's too proper, so from here on, I'm going to change it to what it was at the beginning.))

[Third District : Merlin's House]

Merlin's eyes had caught the strange 'fading' that had happened to Window, his eyes widening somewhat at the sight before turning his eyes back to Window, a curious expression on his face. He listened to the rest of his words, followed by Artemis' agreement and Nalo's... nap.

"Of course. Right this way, then- don't worry about him now, he's safer in this cave than anywhere else on this world," Merlin said, motioning with his wand for the duo to follow him around the left side of the cottage. As the rounded the small building, they found a curtain covering a large hole in the wall; Merlin lifted the drape and entered, assuming the others would follow him in.

"It seems we'll be having more guests!" Merlin said, flicking his wand lightly; suddenly, the table they were sitting at was a bit longer, with an additional chair on either side (one by Solaris and one by Aerith). Merlin then began to peddle around with some small glasses, filling them with water for the two men coming in. "One of them decided to take a nap outside- his name is Nalo, so don't be shocked if you see him. The other two young lads call themselves Window and Artemis- come on in, boys!"

[[Benk : Traverse Town : Second District Rooftops]]

Benk laughed as Soryuju apologized, speaking as plainly and bluntly as he could, "Well, maybe if you learned to defend yourself more people wouldn't have to. You're just lucky I was nearby or you'd be communing with the spirits right now instead of us. Sheesh, are all outsiders this reckless?"

Benk shook his head and turned away, "One way or another, that was fun. Short lived, but fun. Sure wish he'd stuck around... it would have been funny watching him trying to break through MY defenses."

~Window~

[Traverse Town::Merlin's House]

Window took the old curtain and pushed it aside after Merlin entered. He hesitated before walking in; it was almost second nature now to question the what he was going to encounter next and if there was another enemy around the conrer. Call it a gut feeling, but I don't think we're going to find any unexpected ambushes by Heartless here, or by Merlin and his guests the man reassured himself before pressing on through.

"Oh!" Window exclaimed upon seeing the other occupants of Merlin's abode. He hastily and habitually raised his hand in the traditional greeting to the woman in pink and her charge. "Again, I apologize for earlier, to both you, Miss, and you, young missus," Window said earnestly. He had forgotten the pink woman's name at this point, but he wondered if she had even told him. At any rate, out of politeness he wouldn't have called her by that even if he did remember. "And, I am indebted to you for your generosity with the tailor. As you can see, I gratefully took advantage of your offer, but I would still appreciate it if I could do you an equal service in return, if only to express my gratitude. I would be immensely saddened if there was no recourse for this." Noticing the other man inside, Window nodded his head toward him and once again faced the back of his raised hand to greet this last person. "Salutations. I am Window. To you, and to the rest of those present, I humbly apologize for our interruption, and thank you for your accomodation." He stepped back to allow Artemis in, say hello if he wished, and let him have first pick of which seat he wanted.

{Ignorance is bliss... until reality throws a Heartless siege at you.}

[Traverse Town : Second District Rooftops]

Soryuju stood and quietly latched the spear into the hook on the back of his belt. The others attempted to motivate him, sure, but the newcomer spoke (what Soryuju considered) truthfully, forcing him to resist cringing. He was right, of course. If Soryuju had been more powerful, if he'd had the strength to fight back...

"That Dragoon- he was allied with the duo that assaulted the First District earlier. And he was sent by Vereor," Soryuju finally spoke, his voice devoid of emotion, though there seemed to be an undertone of concern. "I can't travel with you guys. I'd only be putting you all at risk, painting a target on your backs. You'd be safer without me."

"I'll see you off in the morning," he finally said before turning his head around to glance at his allies... his friends. He seemed to be smiling, reassuring them. "I'm off to the hotel. Later."

He immediately jumped off the ledge, sailing down to the ground below and landing with the grace of a trained Dragoon. Without any time to recompose (he didn't need to), he was walking through the twisting alleyways- hopefully the surprise of it all had stalled them long enough for him to lose'em.

Tch... unlikely.

{You look like you fell down a tree and hit every possible branch on the way down.}

[Traverse Town :: Second District :: Rooftops]

Suzu stared, her purple eyes wide and dumbfounded as Soryuju continued to speak. Did he just say that? Yeah, he just said that. And before she could muster up the voice to even throw out her rebuttal, he skipped away... off the rooftops and into the alleyways. She blinked a couple more times before she leaned down, quietly, to pick up her fallen scythe. While crouched, she placed her palms against the roof, trying to sense the footsteps of the dragon knight. It was hard, curse industrial buildings and getting in the way of nature... but she did it, even though she hadn't fully memorized everyone's footsteps. But she gathered Sory's was rather light and graceful, just like how he jumped from the rooftops.

She rose, with her scythe in hand quietly thanking the gods that she didn't use up all her mana in trying to reach solid footing earlier. In fact, the heiress almost laughed. Because by catching her, the Dragoon himself was now going to be cornered... hopefully. Suzu called on the moisture in the air to aid her, normally she wouldn't but she wanted to make sure her magic would go through. Bringing her arm into a powerful swing, she brought down the point atop the roof, no doubt loosening some shingles. "Don't think you can outrun a geomancer! Mizuumi no Ryū!" Water stirred into life where her scythe struck and immediately shot outwards, avoiding the people that were still gathered down below(LIKE HER BROTHER! 8D) and twisting into the alleyways after Sory, quickly taking form into a watery dragon.

You gathered all these people onto my ship, you better darn stick around! Suzu thought heatedly, despite the fact that she extended the invitation. But no doubt, it was because Sory had caused a magnet of gatherings. Of course. No way in hell was it her fault!

[Moggie : Traverse Town : Second District Rooftops]

Moggie couldn't help but let her cheeks puff out as Soryuju seemed to dismiss himself from them. What the heck was up with that? She seriously didn't have to come looking for him if he was going to do that.

"Some guy you have there..." Moggie commented to Suzuran, before she went over to Benk, "Hey you! Don't mean to sound rude or ungrateful for your help, but who are you? And where did you come from? I know I couldn't of been the one who lead you. You weren't amongst us that were in that blasted maze. Speaking of which-" Moggie paused for a moment as if remembering something, the moogle glanced down to the ally way where Kuropo still remained, "-and you, when did you get here- Woah!"

Moggie's attention was soon turned from the strange newcommer and the little midget to Suzuran who had just cast a spell that seemed to go after Sory.

"You go get him girl." Was all the moogle said.

Alex let out a bark of a laugh, and shook her head. "He sounds like me... Go get him Suzu," she said after the girl had disappeared. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. She glanced at the newcomer (Benk).

"You're a real git, you know that? We wanted to help because he's our friend. You didn't have to do anything at all, though thank you for the help. So what if we're reckless? Maybe if you weren't so high and mighty, you'd realize that sometimes being reckless is alright," said the girl with venom dripping from her words. She growled softly and huffed, turning to the other roof tops. Her eyes fluttered shut for a moment, then opened. Listening wasn't going to get her anywhere. At least she knew in what general direction Suzuran had gone, though.

"Hey, I'm going to go make sure neither of them get into trouble, alright? And give Sory a smack upside the head," she said to Moggie, softly. She gave the moogle a smirk and tilted her head at the newcomer. "Give him hell for me, mkay?"

With that, she slid her sword in its sheath and sped off across the roof tops, following the trail of water that was Suzuran.

She was going to tell him something no one knew about her, if she had to. Something that was far scarier than having some random a** Dragoon wanting her head. The darkness in her heart lurched, and she vaulted off a roof top to another.

No Dragoon had anything on what lurked in her heart.
