PixelMuse Mrs. Smith was beginning to have second thoughts on whether or not taking her doctor this time and ask them to do a check up on her was the right thing to do. She looked to Gidget with a face that wanted to ask her something before she goes. Gidget sees the look in Mrs. Smith's eyes and says into her bud, "I'm sorry Lily, but I'll have to call you back." She presses a button on the phone and places the ear-bud into her pocket. She looks up at Mrs. Smith inquisitively, "Did you have something you wanted to ask me Mrs. Smith?"

Annie nodded following Shane into the hallway, "What happened with Mr. Reynolds didn't really surprise me, but your promotion did... and him wanting to assign me as your personal assistant."
She looked away from him and said as she blushed, "About me being your assistant, are you willing to take me in? Or do you have someone else in mind?" She turned around and faced him, "I'll do anything in my power to help you, though, that I can promise you."

Shane keeps looking at the ceiling for just a moment long before finally getting his head out of the clouds. "Huh...oh right, Reynolds. No actually I can't believe that you...I mean, it's just..." Shane buries his face into his hands as he turns red.
Once he reveals his face again he says nervously and quickly, "I'm 27 years old and I have never been kissed by a girl"

"A kiss on a cheek does not count as a real kiss," Annie laughed. "It is really hard to imagine that you wouldn't have had at least kissed a girl sometime in your lifetime... Especially considering how good you were at rolling with the story that I was your girlfriend."
She bowed her head, "I'm sorry I embarrassed you. I never thought that you would get so embarrassed about a kiss on the cheek... I- I just acted on my own. I'm sorry." She winced, "I tend to be a bit impulsive."

Lily growled as she was hung up on. She didn't even get the chance to ask her where ako was so she could retrieve her little pets. "Oh well." she said to herself as she stood up from the chair and walked outside, it was cold and wet. Not the kind of weather you would want to be in, but Lily didn't want to stick around this place a moment longer. Gidget would call her back, then she could explain to her what is going on.
She looked left, then to the right. Sighing as she shook her head, then Lily walked right pass her bike, not even bothering to start it up. She wasn't taking it this time, no, she was walking. She needed time to clear her head. So, slowly she began her pace, going over her dream again and again in her mind. Feeling the tears burn at her cheeks the more of it she remembered.
Lily was doing something very dangerous, she wasn't paying attention to where she was walking, just walking where ever she felt her feet take her. Moving around people when it came, stopping when it came, turning when it came. And before long, she had no idea where she was at. She popped her head up, looking around the neighborhood she had never been in before. Her eyes widen as she turned around. Having no idea where it was she came from to begin with. She shook her head and sighed. Taking a few more steps in front of her.
"God dammit! First I see some freak blow everything up, now I'm lost. What could happen next? " she growled to herself as she took a seat upon the curb, surveying the area. The side of town she was on was obviously poor, the houses being small and closely knitted together. The street was broken in places, holes that had been there for years. Yards unkempt, some even having little to no grass. Houses having little to no paint, it was almost sad to look at.

She presses a button on the phone and places the ear-bud into her pocket. She looks up at Mrs. Smith inquisitively, "Did you have something you wanted to ask me Mrs. Smith?" "I'm sorry to be a bother but, do you know where I should take Trinity should take to to get a "check up" on her powers? I'm afraid the doctor would not be as helpful in that department. If you know what I mean."

Gidget has been waiting for this opportunity. Still, she knows she needs to tread carefully because no one is supposed to be taken to Valhalla unless they want to. "Actually, there is a place that specializes in people like Trinity and I. It's where I...ahem...acquired my special suit. The only thing is that I don't want to take Trinity there if she doesn't want to go, but there is someone there with powers much like hers that would be able to assist her in getting them under control."

"Well, I mean, I've been hugged before. It's just that it's usually followed by `you're such a good friend` or `I think of you like an older brother` or my personal favorite `I thought you were gay.`"
Shane may not be able to pick up on flirts or signals of affection, but he does recall what Lily said earlier. At the time he had just dismissed it, but now he isn't so sure.
"Anyway don't worry about it. I guess I just have to expect the unexpected from you. How else are we supposed to be able to work together? Oh, and I almost forgot." Shane lifts himself off of the wall and slowly wraps his arms around Annie tight. He says in a hushed tone, "Thank you, there was no way I would have been able to pull that off without you."

Annie leaned her head onto his chest as he hugged her. She knew she was blushing but she said quickly, "It was no problem. Like I said I'll do anything in my power to help you. Just a warning though, I'm not necessarily the smartest, and as you can tell I'm bull headed, and I have a temper... and I have a dozen other major faults you'll have to put up with if I'm your assistant."
She looked up at him and said quite bluntly, "Oh, and you'll have to put up with the fact that I sort of like you more than just a good friend, or an older brother... And I sure do hope your not gay.
Pulling away from him she said smiling (and beat red by this point, though she was trying to play it cool), "You suffer from the 'nice guy' syndrome. Most people tend to think your too nice and they don't want to date the nice guy."

Shane can't believe it. Lily was right about Annie crushing on him. He laughs, "Oh man, I have to say that this is a first. I may just be clueless, but I'm pretty sure that this is the first time I've been crushed on by a woman ten years younger than I am. I guess I should be happy. It means I'm still good looking in my old age."
He sighs and takes off his glasses to rub his eyes. He replaces them and yawns. "We can talk more about this tomorrow. It's late and we've got a lot of work ahead of us to fix the mess that fat b*****d made of my department. Not to mention locating Leviathan Cortez, Gidget, and the rest of your friends."

"Hmm... that reminds me I am only seventeen," Annie laughed, rubbing her head. Muttering to herself, "But then again I'll be eighteen in a few weeks."
She smiled, "Before you get too big of a head about your looks, though you aren't hard on the eyes, that isn't what attracts me to you. You have a good vibes. Your a good person."
"You're right, though, it is late," Annie added. "Um... do you know a place where I can crash for the night? And a change of clothes and a shower would be nice, too. I can manage without the change of clothes and shower though."

Shane nods, "This facility can accommodate both of those requests. Sometime we find meta-humans who have no place to go, and not a penny to their name. So we allow them to stay here, feed them, and cloth them until they feel they are ready to rejoin society. I was actually planning on staying in one of the rooms because I don't feel like going all the way back up to my apartment. You're welcome to do the same if you'd like."

A few moments later Shane is opening the door into what looks like a motel room. It is furnished with a king sized bed, couch, television, desk, and chest-drawers. To the rear is a sink area leading into a bathroom. The floor is lined with an off white carpet, the walls with a fairly plain white paint.
Shane turns the light on and walks into the room toward the sink area. Adjacent to it is what looks like a walk in closet. He turns to Annie and says, "This is where you can get some new clothes. They wont be the latest fashion designs or anything, but you can get a variety of garments. Denim, khaki, flannel, sweats, and cotton are just a few of the materials you can nab. All you have to do is walk inside and vocalize what you'd like. The rack spins and presents you with what you requested, or if that isn't available something close to it. Go ahead, try it out."

"Blitz, come here." Leviathan held up his hand, gesturing to over his shoulder. A man shorter then Lev but much wider and muscular stepped away from a building's shadow, Rod still crouched. A mutant hideout, a large abandoned factory, lay in the distance across an enormous grass field, the stalks of once veranda foliage now golden and aged. Lev had been recruiting. Rod stood now, hair jagged and unkempt. His own rough features were rugged, handsome for such a beat up fellow. His fist seemed even more steel-like now, silver up to his elbows, the edges of them growing almost razor edged. Rod had been evolving almost.. Lev looked onward, past the barbwire fencing. The backpack beeped once, and Blitz tapped it for Lev, looking at it himself. "Recruits or..?" Blitz questioned vaguely, holding up a massive hand. "Dog meat boys." Lev cackled, whistling to Rod. "Rod, fence." Rod took a stance in front of the fence, immediately blowing a hole in the wire large enough for one man, his fist steaming from how fast he had fired the punch. Lev patted Rod on the back, approval glistening in his eyes. One by one the fellows stepped through the fence, Lev now leading them to the middle of the field, halfway across the dead plains. Lev began to light up a cigarette, offering one to Rod. "Blitz..Do what you do." Blitz grinned, cracked his neck, then slowly began rubbing his palms together. The earth jittered and trembled beneath them, though Lev and Rod stood firm, staring onward toward the facility. Suddenly, a ripping crash tore through the air, and the building began to collapse, shaking at it's foundation. One by one tiny slivers of shadow came out of the building's front, running for their lives, running because they sensed him. Leviathan cracked his face open with an ivory smirk, lifting his own hands high to the sky, cigarette in mouth. Lev could smell the perspiration, the adrenaline coursing through the veins of those running, now a small flock, across the open plains away from the building, sprinting for safety, for the city's edge. "Nay, not this day." Lightning began to ran down from the sky upon the helpless mutants, and none were spared. The sound of Leviathan laughing echoed across the cleared ground for miles, reverberating across the city. Leviathan had begun the first part of his plans. Selected extermination.
