A previous post you had made in this thread, was inappropriate even for the general thread, I removed it from the thread and well... that was that. Dryfolius, I should have some pics of my Tau up later in the day. The stuff i was working on lastnight wont be in the pic but the rest of the army or at least examples will be. The prospect of going to the beach today haulted my previous plans of waging war. Beach weather rocks cool Good luck on your battle today. 3nodding k srry, well i didnt get to test my new ordance friday, made me mad, but then i when to the mall and saw my ppls and i was still mad i just wanted to blow things to peices

Kewl, Gundam wing is a really great anime, but no, Tau arent based off of them. Woo hoo!!! Here is my victory score with this Tau army
Grey Knights, 1 win 0 lose IG, 0 wins, 2 lose Black templar, 0 win 1 lose(Only becuase of recon, or i would have won!) Tau, 1 win 0 lose
And that is pretty much all i have fought so far. This army was just not adequetly built to handle IG yet.... qoute the big word, Yet. People at my game store do 1 of 2 types of armys. MEchanized, or infantry, i cannot fight eather. I think i could fight of Catachans, after i get some kroot. My Tau army was pretty much built by one of the ARmy builders, and it was ment to fight against Space marines, and Necrons.
And, me and a grey knight player did something terribly Psycotic, Straight Cleanse, you know how the tables are 4x8 right? well, we played on the 4 side, and that gave me the greated advantage a Tau player could wish for, becuase this mesa, i parked a hammer head right there on it, and then, i had the intire table covered, the guy gave up on the 4 round.
1st round, i beat the hell out of his command squad and a Dread naught. Kill the dread nuaght first turn. Then the command squad kinda bit the dust on the,
second turn, i then killed 4 of his infiltraited scouts.
3rd turn, i killed his Assasin with a burst cannon shot to his spleen, and made him fall over and die with about 18 other burst cannon shots if he didn't fall over.... And then i began with my 2 ordance blasts onto his 5 space marine squads at the back.
4th turn, he gave up. I took no casualties in that fight, and i stole about 1000 something of his points, becuase on the 3rd turn, he had deep struck his terminators and 5 assualt marines, now here is a question for you all, Do you seriously think that 5 assualt marines are going to live through more then 80 shots of pulse riffle for very long? But yea, then his terminators had deep struck a little to close to my Firewarriors, and he had moved 5 inched up, and then landed into my squad of firewariors, which in turn led to that intire squad being killed. That right there was like 300 points i think he said. His command squad was like 400 or 500 i forget which, and then his dread naught waslike 160 points, and then assasin and scout team made it total up to 1000 something points. I felt glad that i won that fight, but i was wanting to fight my friends eldar army, becuase i knew he would straight out kick my a**, i just wanted to see what can be done...... but we didnt becuase he had to go. and i was there till like 11:11 talking to some one about painting, and stuff, which is really cool, becuase the guy i was talking to has been playing i think since 2nd edition and painting and collecting, and this guy does some great paint jobs for trade. Like you buy him a pack of space marines that costs 35 dollars, he will assemble and paint another 35 dollar squad of yours for you. I just find it cool how help full he was to me. After i get my O'shovah, im getting kroot, im so sad to say, but i belive 20 kroot out will help my ranks greatly against IG.
Funy thing is, every one was telling me why would any one field Grey knights inless its really against a Khorne army or Zeneetch cuz of the Deamons, but other then that, every one up there said screw the Grey knights, and they didnt know why any one would wanna field them. Course, Red, your gonna prove me wrong one of these days right?

demon -eyes- kyo Isis47470 Gundams eh ? I own the endier gundam wing dvd set.... I haven't seen anything that looks a tau. big flying robots w/ ppl in them... stare Big ? I should say not. Tau are only about 4 1/2 feet tall, the pic of o' shova standing next to his crisis suit from the older codex shows the suit to be about double his height... that puts it about 8/9 feet tall. Keep in mind Most marines are that tall normally. Gundams stand about 70-80 ft tall. Basically take a mac truck with the trailer and stand it on end... thats how tall a gundam is.

Wow, there was a lot going on this week end.
Glad to see everyone posting and it's time for me to get to the answering of questions and the proving of people wrong.
As for the whole grey knights suck concept let me tell you something, let me tell you all something there is nothing! NOTHING! Scarier then having 20 Grey Knight Terminators deep strike in one turn! That is something no matter who you are you should run in fear.
The Grey knights are a perfectly capable army in the right hands and the only army I have ever lost to. Redd is an admirable player of his legendary warriors and often in the game I take his Grey knights as allies.
When you have a Marine army that can chew you a new butt from range with lascannons and tanks, then get hit by grey knights deepstriking there is little you can do. I have seen Grey knights wipe out entire squads of tau or guardsmen with just one shooting phase. There storm bolter is nothing to laugh at. Plus a 6 strength in close combat will hurt you very very badly. They are wounding Crisis suits on a 2 or 3+.
Try to show a little respect, don't blame and army because someone fields it wrong. I would bet a lot of you would be hard pressed fighting Redd.
Dry another word of advice, you can't make a anti-Marine army! If you are going to make an army that is only meant to fight one other type of army then you are going to lose a lot of your games. An one who knows and is a vetern will make an army that suits every and all situations, something that can pack a punch and run and gun the small guys with 5+ armor saves.
Just a word of advice, like I said but you would do good to create your own army.
Oh yeah, one time I had an 800 point command squad that consisted of a Chaplin, Chapter Master, Librarian, and command squad! You don't want to fight that! It is almost impossible to kill, and even the larges enemy will fall to it's power. (21+ Power weapon attacks in a charge that I get to reroll misses due to litanies of hate! Then comes the normal attacks and power fist/thunderhammer attacks, I can take out Nightbringers like they are nothing with this and they beat around a tau commander after 8+ crisis suits joined the fray. Oh and they didn't lose one casualty)
I played orks over the weekend with my Marines, and Redds Grey Knights we kicked their butt and I lost one Terminator in the hole game! We destroyed the orks without any of them left.

Being creative with any army is key with 40k, the tactics you'll face will mostly be of the 'out side of the box' variety, it's hard but not impossible to set your army up to handle most situations. I mostly play Assault/ melee base if I give all of my guys melta bombs there sort of a deep striking tank hunting army. How ever just because i love my assault marines doesn't mean I cant whip around and field my army as a heavy or elite based. Two ten strong termy command squads each led by a librarian or chaplain is very scary. I'll almost never field my termys as elite. because that leaves room for my dreadys or my Tech marine if im running tanks that game. Technically my army has no specific way it should be run, because it's set up to run any way it needs to. mrgreen
