the first guard opened his mouth to say something but was stopped by his comrade. "But, what are you doing here? you're not on patrol and your quarters are back there." he pointed behind Garret.

"Oh I was just....wondering....getting to know my environment and whatnot..." he said with an honest look in his eyes.

The guard smiled, "yes, but it is dark and you really should prepare for the ceremony tomorrow. Thats your next test isn't it? I wish you luck and that you will do as well as you fought against the captain." he said.

the guards frowned. "I-I don't think so, especially since Dorian assigned that as your next test. if you fail one test that means a lot. there was this one guy, he was a phenomenal fighter but he didn't go to one of the feasts in proper dress and he was put in with the day guards to watch the gate. Nothing happens in the daytime and he had to wait ten years before he could get promoted." one said.

Garret put on a fake grin out of irritation and his eye twitched. "Y-You're......You're joking right? Please tell me you are...." his eye kept twitching as he kept his fake grin on.

The guards shook their heads vigorously. "no, we are being very serious. he was pretty ticked but he had to wait."

Something in Garret's mind snapped. He took off running for his quarters to get ready for the ceremony.

Dorian stepped out of the shadows chuckling quietly to himself. "You two would tell him about Hamel." he said.
"Well, Sir, shouldn't he know?" one guard asked.
"Yes, he should, though it would've been interesting to see him struggle with being a guard for a while." Dorian replied. "Make sure that the right servants are sent to help him out or else he'll probably end up tearing the gowns." Dorian ordered.
"Hai!" the guards ran to the servants quarters.
Dorian shook his head and chuckled to himself, turning around and walking to his own quarters.

Garret entered his quarters and he set all his equipment down. "Uhhh....something to wear....dammit!" he looked around for something fancy to wear.

Garret walked over to the door and answered it. He looked at the two servants. "Can I help you?" he asked.
