"Rei. Have you any idea of how much I was freaking out when I realized the flute's effects? If you noticed, you wouldn't be suggesting I would keep the flute!" Nils reached for the flute, but due to a height difference and Rei's will to keep the flute, he was unable to get the instrument back. The bard glared at Rei.

"And how many times do I have to say that I'm not going to destroy the flute?! I'm going to bury the stupid thing so no one can use it again!" He was nearly yelling now, irritated at Rei and his insane ideas.

He was distracted, if only momentarily, by the entrance of Shiva. "Uhm, yeah. Right over there." Nils pointed to the fireplace, his voice calmer than it was moments ago when arguing with the shaman-- druid.

Walking through the door, Fiora loudly says "Hello everybody" happily until she saw the looks everybody was making. "What's wrong she asked quietly.. Did I do something wrong?" She asked

"Nils. I know what you went through, roughly. Apocalypse was a lot worse than that, you know, with the whole consuming mass soldiers in a dark vortex, their screams haunting my nightmares and stuff. But after a while, it stops, and you get used to it. You said that you wanted to be able to do things, right? And that Dragonstone won't last forever. So, why not make the best of what you have?" Rei paced around a bit, giving Shiva a surprisingly in-character wave.
"And besides. You know as well as I do that when something gets buried, it magically gets aboveground for some hapless sap to come across, making a two-bit villain that we'd get rid of in about 5 minutes."

Nils shook his head at Fiora. "You didn't do anything wrong, don't worry. It's something else."

He then focused his attention back at Rei. "Rei. I was not a fighter until a few days ago. My music is only to help, not to hurt others."

He flinched slightly as Rei said his second part. The sham-- druid had hit his worst fear about the plan. Moments later, the glare returned. "Well then, Rei, what do you suggest we do, then? There's the possibility of recovery if it is buried, and I'm sure as hell not keeping it around me. I can barely stand to look at the thing right now. Every time I do, I'm overwhelmed with guilt and hatred at both Siegell and myself."
His tone was icy; he was obviously tired of the argument. The bard just wanted the flute out of his sight and out of anyone's hands so he could relax and get something to eat. Somehow, his hunger had kicked back in, only fueling his irritation.

Rei let out an angry sigh, glancing at the flute in his hand, and at the partially terrified Nils, not even registering Fiora's presence in his mind. "Look, the flute is like a sword. All fighters, or at least the sane ones, obviously are a bit terrified after their first battle, what with the excessive bloodshed and having taken lives." Rei returned the glare Nils gave him, but made his even fiercer, showing that he wasn't just being randomly crazy.
"Well, I dunno. Give it to Alihi or something! She isn't musically capable as far as we know, so she'd be able to keep it safe, right? If you do decide to keep it, when you get the guts to use it, tell me. I'll be holding onto it until you make up your mind."

Nils crossed his arms across his chest, not showing any evidence of backing down.
"I understand, Rei. But music has never harmed anyone before until today!" He sighed, grabbing a bunch of his own hair and yanking in frustration. He didn't like arguing with Rei, didn't like arguing with his friends at all, but this was something he had to stick to.

"No. It's my flute, and therefore my responsibility. Now hand it over." He held his hand out to Rei, a fierce determination in his eyes that said he wasn't going to move until either someone forced him to move or Rei gave in.

"Oh ok then. Um let me know if I can help ok.. hope everything works out ok" she quietly as she left the room and went upstairs, it had been a long day. But before leaving, she said again "Hello Rei" and that was all.

Rei groaned as he threw his hands into the air in frustration. "You know what? Take it. If you mess up bigtime," he said, a furious tone in his voice, "I'll be laughing while I pick up the pieces." He shoved the flute into Nils's hand and walked off in a huff to the other side of the room, sitting in a desk and pulling out a new book 'Dark Elder Magic and Society.'

Nils' eyes narrowed as his hand closed around the flute. "Thank you, you... you... Argh!" He stormed off to the room he had been staying in, resisting the stream of profanity that was on the tip of his tongue.
He closed the door with a loud "slam" and immediately plopped face-down on the bed, letting the cursed flute roll a bit on the mattress.

Before, he felt terrible. Now, he felt even worse.

Aran was brainwashed too when he herad Nil's song, and then came back to normal after. He forgot about it though as Shiva burst through the door, looked like he had just killed something. He gave him a Nod and then listened to Rei and Nil's arguement. If Siegell had really hoped that we'd all become brainwashed again, he was going to pay.

(( ... I was tired of having Nils have boring black text. >:
But if this is too bright, yell at me please. ))

Nils ended up getting little sleep, trying to think of what the heck to do with the flute. He laid in bed on his back, staring up at the ceiling.
"... The more I think about it, the more Rei seems to have the right idea. But still," He glanced at the instrument, currently wrapped up tightly in his yellow scarf. "... The more I look at it, the more I'm tempted to play it." The instrument still captivated him, even now, and he didn't know if he would be able to resist playing the flute again. The power it had was too tempting. He shook his head, making those thoughts disappear.

His mind drifted to the argument last night with Rei. The druid's last words echoed through his mind endlessly, bugging him to no end.

"If you mess up bigtime, I'll be laughing while I pick up the pieces."

"That doesn't sound like the Rei I know..." The bard murmured to himself. "He seemed... different then. Even during Halloween, when he was the Resistance leader, he never was that way... He seemed close, yes, but..." He gripped at his hair in frustration.

"... That isn't Rei. I think I made Rei the way he is now." Nils sat up. "I'm going to have to slap some sense into him, get him back to the way he was! Even if it takes physically slapping him." Picking up the wrapped-up flute, he attached it to his belt ("For now." he mentally noted) and opened the door, heading to the main area, to where Rei (hopefully) was.

[[I don't think it's too bright, Nils.]]

Ninian watched as Nils and Rei argued, wanting to stop them but not wanting to make things worse, only saying Nils's name when he stormed off. She jumped when she heard a door slam. Looking at Rei, she watched the Druid read for a long moment before leaving the room.

Rei did not have to yell at Nils like that! Nils only wanted to put the flute some place where it would not cause harm, that's all! Why did Rei have to get so mad at him? It doesn't make any sense. . . .

After a bit of wandering, Nils found who he was looking for. He frowned slightly.
"Well, here goes nothing... Don't be nervous. He's your friend. He'll listen to you, and forgive you eventually!" He approached the druid.

"H-hi, Rei..."

Oh man, he wanted to slap himself. HARD.
"... Stuttering. Wow. Hard to recover from that idiotic entrance..." He sighed softly to himself, waiting for Rei's response.

Rei turned his head, and let out a small laugh as he glanced at the bard, actually laughing when he looked at the bard's waist.
"So, is that the flute, or are you just happy to see me, Nils?" Rei pointed his finger at the bard's pocket, making it obvious that the flute somehow slid in there.
"Yeah, but in all seriousness, little guy, what do you need me for? Keep it quick, I'm reading..." He dismissed Nils as he went back to his book.

Nils blinked, confused, wondering why Rei was laughing at him. "... Was the stuttering really that funny...?"
Then, he looked down, and it became quite clear to him.

"Oh."

"T-t-that's the flute! N-no, I don't l-like you like that..." He stuttered and muttered while readjusting the flute so it wouldn't look so suggestive, obviously embarrassed. "Sorry..."

And suddenly, he felt his anger start to grow. "I'm not little...! Don't you talk down to me!!" He stared at the druid, the angry words on the tip of his tongue. The bard shook the feelings off, and smiled sadly at Rei.

"I wanted to apologize."
