He spots General TSO speeding away from the explosion. He works his down the ridge even faster than before.

With nary a second thought, Kain dashed through the complex towards an exit. Any important pieces of machinery seemed to have been removed from the facility. A steady stream of profanity issued from his panting mouth ans he ran towards what looked like over sized hangar. If he tried to escape on foot, he'd be smeared like a bug by the exploding. there was only 5 minutes remaining in the sinister countdown and the garage seemed to be devoid of vehicles... Except for one small decrepit looking Jeep tucked away in the corner. It looked like the thing would fall apart if you touched it...but there was hope that it would work. Kain hurled his briefcase and rifle into the back while climbing into the drivers seat. 4 minutes... He turned the rust key in the ignition violently and was rewarded with a small splutter from the machine. "Damn it! Work!" he yelled and twisted the key again and again. After a few panic tries, the old engine finally roared to life. 3 minutes... Gunning the engine, he sped away from the base as fast as he could. The old Jeep coughed and made odd clacking noises at random intervals, but at least it was moving relative fast. 2 minutes... Kain prayed he would make it away fast enough, it looked like there was another vehicle a little ahead of him. 1 minute...

"I'll never get there on foot!" He pulls out two rockets and removes the warhead. He straps them to his back, and pulls a remote control simliar to the one on his rocket launcher, in fact it it is just that, except it's not attached to it. "I hope this works..." He makes a wild jump off the edge...

Takashi Ookami "How the...?" Takashi sits up in the Jeep, looking at the Dunerunner. "Can that thing REALLY land? We just used the StarDock..."
The initial shock wave passed ove r the vehicle, and rocked the frame, kicking up dust around them and irritating his eyes.

Tso hears a shout and the roar of rocket engines, looking up he sees what he believes is the new recruit doing something nuts. Good to see the new blood taking some initiative. In the rear view mirror, he can distantly see a jeep a mile or so behind him.

The shockwave sends him spiraling toward the jeep. "INCOMING!!!"

The shockwave caused the Jeep to swerve and shake violently. The remaining glass in the mirrors shattered instantly as the bone-jarring percussion travelled through it. It sounded many time louder than sonic boom and Kain could feel his whole body shake when the wave past through. By some amzing feat, the vehicle kept moving. Maybe there was some some slim chance he would survive. He was also dimly aware of what looked like someone strapped to a pair roclets shotting through th air.

The Major shoock his head, the first wave only kicked up dust, the las one had threatened to pull the jeep apart in one fel motion.
He nailed the accelerator a bit more, kicking it into another gear.

He crashes into the back seat, nearly crushing a lighting kariou on fire. "I warned you..."
"Thanks for the compliment, Major! Just wait 'till I can get myself into R&D... You know, I used to be a captain in the army I was in before. Before it got destroyed, that is. Luckily I was on leave! smile

*It suddenly happened, a flash brighter than a thousand suns as all anti-matter containment was terminated within the R&D complex, annihilating. The blast was so loud, that it couldn't be heard, just the roar of a deafening shockwave as it ripped across the landscape, traveling much faster than the Major's Jeep ever would. The jeep however, as well as the other modes of transport the others chose to take to get away from R&D began to glow, as they slowly began to dematerialize, and rematerialize in a large, cavernous structure...the Dunerunner primary shuttlebay. If it wasn't for that majestic starship, they surely would never have lived through the shockwave*

Kariou Screamed, but over the roar of the blast, it was as if it were nothing. Kariou from the shock, collapsed on the passenger side of the dashboard, and just as that happened, the new recruit landed charring his back. Kariou is out cold.
