Whoop-de-doo... rolleyes What will they up next? pretty soon, they'll just start saying we all volunteered, why not, we have nothing better to do, right? Ah well, not so pissy now. But i still don't wanna really go, not that I get home sick really. I was away training for 7 1/2 months and never really cared, but this is a bit further away then 6-7 states...

Sorry about your proglems guys. Koiyuki, I sort of feel the same way, not as angry but generally upset in the manner that a lot of people who are close to my heart live in Louisiana at the moment...so this whole Katrina thing, I wasn't aware of what it exactly was until last night when I clicked Foamy's Rant. I've been trying to call the few people down there who I love deepy to see whats going on, to see if they are safe and whatnot. I'm so worried... cry

This one has been bugging me for awhile. Have you ever noticed how, in some of the guilds that are less specific in their membership requirements, that they invite people at random? Well they do. And every once in a while (and sometimes much more often) some n00b will start a new thread asking instead of looking for an intro thread. Or sometimes they'll just pick a thread arbitrarily and post Quote: hi im new. was i leik, invited at randm or sumthin Oh dear gods, I hate them. I hate them all.

Oh, yes. They're horrid. I don't know of anyone who likes them. Well, maybe they like themselves. Whatever.
Speaking of which, it really bothers me when people don't read the first post of a thread when it specifically says in the title to read the first post. What's even worse is when the quote the first post, but what they say makes it obvious that they didn't read. Why can't Gaia have an Altar of Literacy like KoL?

A guild invited me before this one, it's called ''The Guild'' I too made a thread asking why I was invited because the invite was completely random and everything. Then, on the main page, it said they invite people with good spelling or who seem cool, but I still felt like it wasn't so, that they invited me for something else, so I made a thread asking why I was invited and to just thank thjem for inviting me. O_O
Then I joined this guild, and I never looked back. smile

Grr. I'm annoyed. I just had one of those situations where someone does something for you that you didn't ask them to do, and in fact, asked them not to do, and then, after doing that, they're like, "Oh, well you owe me. Big time." I never get that. It's like being raped by someone who then, as he walks away, says "You owe me", only to a lesser extreme. Bleaugh. Stupid humans.

Usually I'm the one saying I owre my friends for random donations or other things they give me, but then we argue that I'm too nice and selfless to give them anything so I end up loosing, keeping whatever they got me, and not being able to repay them back in the same way. sad

Newbies keep pming me for donations. I want to know who told who that I had upmteen-gobs of gold to give away. I mean, yes, I will donate to someone IF I know them, and IF I have gold and inclination to do so.
What I hate is people who have never talked to me before saying things like "I need 50,000g. Thankyou, you rawk."

Well, it is official.
My dad lost his job.
He used to work for Agilent, a shoot off company of HP. He is an electrical engineer. And after 25 years of hard work and service, they sack him to save money!!!!

It just constantly pisses me off how these big businesses see everything as bottom line, nevermind the fact that my dad and many of the others in the thousand people layoff were highly qualified and have families that they need to support. It doesn't matter to the greedy bastards because all they care about is their bonuses and their stock.
It pisses me off that it's no longer about progress through business, but the continual hording of money by the top 1% of people and their constant greed that makes them just *have* to get rid of thousands of people from their company and only hire people straight out of college for really cheap, or send the jobs over seas.
I mean, think about it, these people "on top" are only as good as long as the people under them continue to exist. Once all the people are either fired or sent off to Indo-China, the people in charge will no longer need to exist.
Seriously, it disgusts me that instead of letting the largest amount of people live reasonably, that the current structure seems to be "take everything, take 1000% more than you need, and ******** anyone else who gets in the way." This way of thought is destructive not only to our society as a whole, but in the continuation of our entire species.
What can I do, though? I feel SO powerless..... gonk

Well, they are greed-driven, but somtimes, like 1% of the time, they have an employee purge because they can't pay their salaries. I doubt that happened in this case, though. stare
Anyway, with your father's experience, I don't doubt that if submits his resume (I recommend Monster.com) he'll get plenty of job offers. Companies can't ignore 25 years of experience. Good luck to your dad. *Huggles Oni*

It'll be alright. Just take a couple of deep breaths, and try to think happy thoughts for a minute, as hard as that might be for you right now.
Electrical engineer you say? I wouldn't worry about him finding more work. Especially (as Vyce said) with 25 years of experience. Who, in their right minds, would overlook that? Electrical engineering overlaps with so many other things that it should be a breeze for him to get a new job.
He was wise, and chose a versatile career!

Yeah. Vyce is right, he has enough experience to land a job easily. 25 Straight years doesn't just float by everyday if you think about it. I sincerely hope he gets another job, what they did was stupid but it sadly happens everyday. evil

AH. My kyboard is so jackd up. I hav no numbrs, and, in cas no on noticd alrady, on of th rally important lttrs is missing as wll. This is th scond kyboard that has gottn scrwd up. I officially hat laptop kyboards. I snt th laptop back to th Toshiba th first tim it happnd, th ntir lft sid of th kyboard didn't work. Thy snt it back to m, and I'v only had this nw kayboard in it for thr months.
I don't gt it. I dont at or drink anywhr nar this thing, and I know that it hasn't bn droppd or anything. Th first tim, thy rplacd th kyboard for fr, but this tim, I'd hav to pay lik, a hundrd bucks -thats with shipping and handling includd- I'd rathr just pay lik tn bucks or so and buy a rgular kyboard and just hook it in th back of th damnd thing.
