Turning around, he hopped along the tops of a few boulders before landing upon a path that headed upwards along the side of the mountain. "Something like that. There is less wind to glide upon, so flapping that hard without any real lift could be quite tiresome. But the paths are not too bad." His tail swung back and forth once before he started to walk again. He knew these paths like the bottoms of his hooves. And he'd try and take the easier paths, just so she could keep up. If she had troubles then they would come back down. But for now he'd see how she'd fair.

She followed behind him, eyeing that teasing tail. She would move slowly, and pace herself. She wanted to get as far up the mountain as possible. Wanted to see what lay above the clouds. And if her wings would do little to no good as a source of protection, then she certainly would endeavor to keep herself as refreshed as posible, in case something did happen.
But damn that tail. Hypnotic, like a pendulum. And dangerous. If she bit it, she'd have to run. Fast.
..... But he'd just PUT it there. The tease.

Valar had a strange sensation that sent the hairs on the back of his neck to stand upright. But he dismissed the feeling for now. As he walked along the path, small rocks crumbled from the wall of stone to one side and tumbled down the steep vertical drop on the other. The hight never worried him. His wings were strong enough and even then a few broken bones never bothered him.
"The view gets a lot better as you go. The higher you are, the farther out across the land you can see. Though you can't make out the best details in some places, it's good for when you want to observe." His tail gave another snap back and forth as he climbed up a particularly steep incline in the path. Wings unfolding slightly to keep his balance. Sheer of foot and mind, he supposed.

Her nose was slinking closer to that tail. It just.... she didn't even want to do it for any reason other than the sheer fact she COULD. But That would... really... be a very bad thing....
Her nose kept slinking closer, and she was paying little attention to the trail. His voice only added to the feeling of hypnosis. "Mmmmhmmm." she murmured absently. "Observe. Sounds wonderful." So did taking a bite out of that... GAH!
She snorted, hissing, and stopped, shaking her head.

Noticing her sudden stop, he himself had stopped. Now turning around to look at her with a curious glance. "Something wrong?" His eyes lidded as his tail swung around behind him, out of her reach. He had felt her hot breath, a little too close for comfort. "If your thinking about biting me, I'd highly suggest you don't. I doubt you could survive a drop like the one over there with broken wings." He motioned to the sharp drop off of the cliff beside them. In a matter of moments they had gotten pretty high up.

She licked her lips. "Why do you think I'm not?" she asked, voice cool. "I do have a sense of self-preservation, you know." she gave him an icy look. "You may continue. I am quite in control of myself, though I thank you for your advice." Broken wings indeed. She gave a little snort, composed. "I must say, so far your home seems rather intriguing. Though I am sure the inside of the mountain has caverns that are much more hospitable?"

The stallion made a note to himself to keep an eye on this mare. She had impeccable tact yet she seemed a bit....over zealous in trying to cover up the obvious. Turning again, he started up the path once more. "Yes. Many of the caves that riddle these mountains go fairly deep within the rock. Where the warmth of the day and the heat from the world come together, creating nice warm pockets."

She pointedly kept her eyes away from the stallion's tail. She'd pass on being beaten up, thank you. "Interesting." she mused. "So it is a good place to go in the depths of winter." her head tilted, and she examined the mountainside. "I shall have to ask about a tour of the inside as well then." one hoof caught on the edge of a rock, sending it falling, and she scowled.

"Yes. If you go deep enough not even the bitterest cold can reach you." Valar ducked his head a a veil of green vines hung down into the path over the mouth of an archway the rock had formed. His eyes squinted as they adjusted to the darkness for a moment, having stopped halfway through. "These kind of archways are rare to see here. Its a strange kind of shape that the rocks have formed over centuries that I have yet to figure out just yet." Eying the dark walls and ceiling of rock, he gave a snort before heading through, finally clearing the archway. The faint sound of mountain goats could be heard not too far up ahead.

She followed him, glancing at the rock curiously. Solid, strong. She'd never seen anything like this. And dark. She wouldn't be able to see, only hear. She didn't know her way around, and he did. This would be... dangerous.
And exciting.
She moved forward, following the sound of prey, and hooves barely scraping the rock in front of her. Listening for the swish of his tail, or any noise he made that would tell where he was. Until her eyes adjusted, that would be her best bet. She'd never been in a place so dark. It was almost unnatural to her. But finally her eyes started adjusting. Or maybe there was a natural source of light in here?

He paused for a brief moment at the other end of the archway. Giving her time to make her way through and catch up. Knowing it was fairly dark in there, but it wasn't too long of a walk to get through quickly.
Ears swiveled this way and that as the sound of falling rocks and the baying of the mountain goats grew louder. They were just the few types of animals that lived here in the mountains. And the more sure of footed ones as well. Sure there were mountain lions here and there, but they weren't as common at the goats were. But they were fairly easy to take down, even on these steep cliffs. Because goats didn't have wings, you could knock one off easily and if luck was on your side it would fall onto one of the lower cliffs. Possibly disabling it if it landed wrong.

Ah. It was just a short tunnel. She blinked again when she was outside, listening to the sounds. The baying... goats? She couldn't stop the curious gleam. Did these goats look any different from the ones that lived at lower altitudes? Fuller coats? Bigger horns?
She looked around the area, gazing curiously over the land stretched out below them. "It looks smaller." She didn't dare lean further, no matter if she had wings or not. She wasn't that stupid. "How much further do we have?" she glanced at Valarauco, watching his ears swivel.

Valar glanced over the edge for a moment before looking at her out of the corner of his eyes. "Of course. The farther away from something you are, the smaller it looks." A few small falling rocks caught his attention as he snapped his head upwards. On a few ledges just farther up stood a couple of mountain goats that stared down at them with the dark beady eyes. He gave a snort which sent one of them scrambling across the rocky ledges but the other stood still. It's eyes locked with Valar's as it lowered it's head slightly. Showing off it's large horns. This didn't impress the stallion one bit.
"Not much longer. I don't want to take you too high. Your probably not used to the high altitude. Less air might make it really hard for you to breath." Now he picked up his pace a bit. Heading along the path once more. Eventually it opened up into a wider plateu which cut into the mountain side. Almost as if a knife had come down and lopped off a piece of the mountain. In the face of the rock lay four dark caves which lead deep into the mountain's interior. The wind whipped Valar's mane around as he stepped closer to them.

She turned away from the ledge, following the stallion as he moved. Her eyes met with the bold mountain goat, and she couldn't resist baring her teeth at the creature. It didn't seem impressed, which disappointed her a bit, really. "I'd quite like to breathe, so I will quite agree on not going up too far for now." She agreed, and turned her head as the wind beat at them. Her mane was going all over the place... and she'd prefer not to have to get it cut, truly. Even though it was quite troublesome to keep clean, and keep it out of her food. "So which one do we go into?" she spoke a bit louder, trying to ensure she was heard. The wind was... an annoyance.

The wind had really picked up now. Not that it was too odd, at least at this hight on the mountain. Here winds from all over bounced off one another. The stallions mane was tossed every which way and that as he was hit with a fairly powerful blow.
Turning his head towards her, he motioned his head to the far right one. "The right one would probably be the best one to take. It heads down the mountain inside a ways and is a lot warmer than being out here." His tail moved back and forth for a moment as he stood stationary. He stood there, letting the wind beat against his body before he moved towards the mouth of the cave. "Its a little steep inside but shouldn't be too bad."
