Hmm, well he had given more or less the right answer.

"Good job Marcos. You've passed. Come on this way, from what I can tell you won't be needed with the assistance of rebuilding this ship for another long while and time, as of right now, is quite important. Never you worry yourself about my asking, I trust you'll figure it all out in good time. But if you could put those admirable self made wings of yours to good use, that shoudl help. I estimate we have perhaps another half hour before we run out of time."

Turning and giving him a little smile and an even smaller wink, she seemed to run off before him, before seemingly just launching herself into the air. She soared higher and higher into the sky, and flew just a little bit onwards before she stopped and turned around so that she was able to see him. Gesturing for him to follow, she really needed him just to co-operate now. She didn't know what kind of greeters or butlers would have been assigned to see her into the Mayors manor, but she was willing to bet a fair bit of sneaking would be required.

Taking another look at Marcos, she chuckled softly. He seemed to be just the kind of guy who would have been habituated to the sort of life she was going to throw onto him for the next hour or so.

Marcos looked, at first, as if he were about to turn and forget all of this had ever happened.

But, she had made him an offer he couldn't refuse... and after all, he said he trusted her.

This, however, seemed like one of those times where she could prove herself untrustworthy... But, he had to see where this was going, or else he'd lose sleep.

Spreading his metal wings, the three jets upon each wing fired to give him the initial boost he needed, and he traveled on his sheer inertia and supportive wing flaps to get to Toula, who was now in the air. However, Marcos had a small problem. Hovering wasn't a thing he was good at or liked to do; it ate up too much of his fuel, and even if he flapped his wings as fast and as hard as he could, he could only stay in the same spot in the air for a few seconds before sinking. Metal wings weren't as efficient as the god-given ones he once had.

But the scars on his body, his singular eye, which was on the opposite side of his face from the one that had been rendered useless in that fateful battle, which resulted in the loss of his wings and ship, forced him to resort to methods a tad unorthodox.

But Marcos didn't mind.

So, she'd have to understand that as he slowed down in the air after he passed her that he couldn't actually stop, hover, and have a nice little chat with her. She'd have to catch up and lead the way...

Toula understood perfectly, and as she flapped her own wings to get ahead of him, she was aware that fuel probably wasn't an easy commodity for him to come by. Oh well, she'd have to see to that matter to.

It occurred to her that now, the matter of her wings being invisible must have been out in the open now. It felt weird, to have some one outside of the family know that she even had them....usually, most people assumed that she was wingless. Ha. She was permanently winged. Much like Marcos...in a sence, anyway.

Flying rapidly, she seemed just a bright glimmer of green in the pristine sky. Always visible, even if it was just by the sparkle of her gemstones, she soon landed near by where her families private ship had landed. SHe didn't want to get too close, lest some one see her flying with what would seem to be no wings. She didn't want EVERYONE knowing now.

Waiting for Marcos to land, she hoped he had the common sence to be quiet. SHe didn't know exactly where she was going to hide him yet, nor how she was going to speed up her families visit so that they could leave, but she'd figure it out.

Marcos, however, would not have understood what Toula's logic when it said that common sense would dictate that he keep quiet.

As a matter of fact, there was a loud, if not more than slightly noticeable hiss when his jets provided a bit of propulsion to aid in a soft landing, and he looked around, standing at his full height, not bothering to keep quiet about anything.

"Where are we?" He asked, not bothering to keep his voice down, but not shouting, either.

After all, he didn't know that they were sneaking around anywhere...

She hid her face in her hands, wrapped her wings around her, and otherwise tried to hide herself as Marcos made his painfully loud and obvious entrance when it was supposed to be a quiet and unnoticable one. Oh dear lord, did the man have no common sence?

Dropping her voice to a whisper, she told him exactly where they were and what they were doing. Then she realized she was speaking when her wings were still wrapped tightly around her, and that if he heard anything at all, it would have just been some off muffled sound that might have passed as speach only if one saw exactly what situation they were in.

"I said, we're a two hundred meters away from my familys airship. The plan is to some how sneak you on board, hide you in there, and when my parents leave this place and return back home, I sneak you back out, and give you free run of my dad's shed. However, in order for this to work you have to realize we have to quiet and unnoticed, and when this is all done and you have your vamped up ship, in exchange for the best offence and defence systems in the skies I ask that you take me with you."

Marcos was looking around a bit when Toula went into a rather obvious fit of dismay.

He also raised an eyebrow, the one above the eye that could not function, which would've been bulging, perhaps, with disbelief, when he noticed that the woman's voice was somehow muffled.

But then she began to speak normally, and he understood.

"Sounds good to me." He said, lowering his voice and folding up his metal wings, suprisingly soundlessly, in a neat, compact form upon his back. They conformed to his every move when they were like that. It was quite handy, and he was glad that he had made them that way.

"I'll even let you be my first mate, if you like." He added quietly, shrugging slightly. He was looking around, now, for a way that he could get into the private airship and do what Toula said.

Had he any ideas, he wasn't forthcoming with them...

"We'll see about that when we get to it."

She whispered hastily to him as she walked closer and closer to the airship. They were still in the cover of the woods, and when she had walked half the distance there she crouched behind a tree and stopped for a moment. She had almost forgotten, that with her gems she would be much easier to spot shoudl they catch the light and sparkle.

Taking off all the jewellery, she also took off her shoes and stood for a moment, not really knowing what to do with them. Then an idea struck her.

Taking off the green net top, she took off the white shirt underneath. It ended up with her beign in a black bra, and a moment later, in the green top. Oh well. She didn't exactly have a bad body by any sence of judgement, it was as if she was wearing a bikini top. Taking her white shirt and wrapping up all the showy acessories, she realized then that her white capris would be easily noticed too. Exasperated, she looked to Marcos and sighed. Oh man, this would be awkward.

"Marcos! Marcos, lend me your shirt!"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 10, 2005 6:34 pm

Marcos had turned away at first, when she started changing so abruptly, simply to be polite.

When she demanded, almost, that he lend her his shirt, he raised an eyebrow.

But, then again, it was just a shirt...

He shrugged off the garment, exposing the rest of his scars, along with the 'branding' that had been carved onto his chest with the end of a rapier; a huge X.

Well, it was hardly noticeable (not really) amongst all the other scars, covering his back and such. "Mind the holes in the back." He said, tossing the shirt behind him, towards the sound of her voice. "They're for my wings." He mentioned.

He wondered what the heck she'd be doing with his shirt... but remained turned around.

Seizing his shirt, she whispered a quick thanks before seeing that it fit her needs. Taking off her capris that were white and shone irridescent in the light, she stuffed it (some how) into the make shift bundle that was her shirt. Then, she wrapped Marcos' shirt around the appropriate area, fashioning it into a not all too shabby skirt. Satisfied that she was well enough covered, she then wondered what she would do with her shirt, that contained everything else in it.

"Psst....Marcos? It's alright to look now, just hold this for me, will ya? All you have to do is follow me, so take it?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 10, 2005 6:49 pm

"Alright..." He said, turning slowly and keeping his eyes level with her shoes, simply to be polite, and taking the bundle that she handed him. What the heck was he supposed to do with this?

And with Marcos, thoughts sometimes seldom stayed within his mind.

"What do I do with all of this?" He asked her, not bothering to file through it, for it was her belongings and her privacy, after all.

The time in the village had certainly changed him...

"So... what am I supposed to do? Just follow your lead, too?" He asked her, ready to follow her.

"Yeah, basically."

She said over her shoulder as she scarpered on forward to the ship. The ship's open door wasn't heavily guarded, but simply attended to by a stray butler, here and there. Toula knew that inside, however, would be a different story. Personal body guards, security systems, the works.

Sneaking up from the back, she flew up to the top of the ship and, since she was in bare feet, didn't quite land lest her feet burn and shrivel up to ash on her.

Hovering slightly, she looked around for something she could use as a distraction. Finding nothing, she sighed inwardly and flew to the end of the ship. There, she propelled herself higher up into the air and promptly let herself drop with a rather loud metallic clang, onto the roof.

Off a second later, her feet throbbed from the momentary exposure to heat. She waited for the desired effect to take place, which was a few body guards going out to investigate. Stomping again, she waited until she could count all of them outside, all 13 of them. Signalling to Marcos, she needed him to be within that ship PRONTO.

Marcos wondered, for a good few moments, as she stomped upon the top of the airship, how she herself would get onto the craft, but he was certain she had a plan. As the bodyguards spilled out of it, he quickly made a mental chart of how he would enter the aircraft.

Clockwise around the tree he was behind, a long arc up to the ship, bowing out so that he was farther away from the guards in the middle of his path, and then slide up against the ship (not really, as that would make a horrible grinding sound with the metal wings folded up on his back), and then duck into the entrance and find a nice cubbyhole to curl up in.

He executed this plan without error, although he was sweating bullets, so to speak, on his final approach, fearing that a bodyguard would sense him or simply turn around as he ducked into the craft, finding it perfectly vacant on the inside. He didn't pay attention to the details of the craft, but simply rushed towards the back, near the engine room, making the guess that it would be unoccupied. If worst came to worst, he could always pose as a mechanic. He would just have to hide his back... a mechanic with metal wings was quite a story. But he was sure he could make up something slightly believeable.

Entering the engine room and finding it currently vacant, he ducked into a compartment that was not too obvious of a hiding place, and grumbled mentally about it being rather cramped. He would wait for Toula to find him. Hopefully she would have the common sense that he had hidden in a compartment and not blatantly come looking for him and calling his name...

Toula, unlike Marcos, was extremely socially savvy. While the body guards filed out one by one and in turn each pointed their guns at her, she smiled cheerfully to them all and waved a charming hello, continuing to drop herself onto the roof of the ship.

Good morning to you all!
Ms. Charneau, just what are you doing on the roof of your ship?
Jumping on it, of course!
Ms. Charneau, we would kindly ask you to stop, your parents wouldn't approve of such behaviour.

A moody pout, and a seeming attempt at puppy dog eyes before she sighed resignedly, seemingly giving into their wishes.

Oh, alright then. Just promise not to tell them anything? She asked of them innocently, as she made her soft and slow decent down to the ground. The body guards rolled their eyes in slight exasperation, for although they were duty bound to tell her parents everything, they had watched Toula grow up from enfant years to womanhood. It wasn't so easy, ratting out the girl that they had all served as family to.

Smiling charmingly, she gave them both dimples and a quick hug before disappearing into the ship, where her maid immidiately threw herself into a fit over the completely horrid outfit she was wearing. One could wonder, perhaps, why Toula had insisted that she have Marcos' shirt. Easy. She didn't want anyone off in the distance to be able to recognize her. That, and the people within the ship would have thought she had just been inside the whole time. No need to tell them that she had wondered off and, hopefully, now had a stow away on board.

What seemed an eternity later, Toula's maid had finished with fussing over Toulas outfit just enough to deem her presentable. Of course, the Charneau heir knew exactly why. It was always like this. Anytime they went some where this big with seemingly no reason at all, it was because they wanted to hook her up with some self absorbed, swaggering peacock. Each one exactly like the last.

Clad in a silk dress that flowed elegantly like water and framed her idealistic body, Ms. Charneau stepped out of her room who knew how much later, all ready to impress who ever it was she was supposed to. The dress had been custom made, perfectly suited for its wearer. The silk a bright, spring leaf green, it fell in a subtle train behind her, with few and modest folds to keep the garment from over bearing plainess. A swirl of silver leaves adorned the bottom edges, from which silver heels poked out every once in a while. The throaght area had been left open, a darker green silken scarf resting cheekily at her bosom thrown over both shoulders and trailing down in two seperate tassles behind her shoulders with an open back, with the same silver leaves swirling in appealing patterns. Toula's hair had been done up as well, in an elegant and sleek chignon with a large clip fashioned into a silver leaf adorning one side of it, a spray of emerald mist contrasting brilliantly with her hair. The jewellery had been kept to a minimal, just a collection of incredibly fine silver bracelets on one arm, and a pair of earrings seeming as a miniature waterfall of silver streaming from both sides of her face. Then, just a simple fan of apple green silk stretched over birch wood to finish off the flirty yet lady like look that had been achieved to perfection by Toula.

Stepping out from the ship, off in the distance a rather frustrated Victor finally saw what was sure to be the famed Toula Charneau. Putting aside his previous sentiments of fury, he pasted on a charming smile and walked out to greet her as intended; with both arms open and a jovial laugh. He wasn't bad looking, well formed and kind of face. Dressed impeccably in a black suit with a misty blue tie that perfectly matched his eyes, he offered Toula his arm and together they walked off to whatever amusement that had been previously arranged for the two.

As they sauntered off, seemingly a happy couple to be, Toula couldn't help but wonder, as she flitted her fan flirtaciously before her eyes, how Marcos was faring.

((Ach, this post reminds me of how frustrating and inane Baten Kaitos' money system was))

To say the least, Eronus was very uncomfortable in the current situation. He wasn't particularly socially adept to begin with, but having this much estrogen around him, and having it all raging pissed in one way or another was not a pleasant situation to be in. It was rather akin to sending his internal organs through a mulcher, cooking the shreds, then feeding them back to Eronus to ask him whether or not they would taste better with a wine based or cream based sauce. Unsure of what to do, Eronus simply sat dumbfounded for a few seconds, staring into the tense silence, but it was still he who was first to act.

Expressionless and quiet, Eronus withdrew a blank Magnus, and with one swift motion, absorbed every crate on the docks into a neatly stacked formation (a visible image of stacked boxes imprinted itself on the card), and then handed the card over to Sera, but maintained a grip on his end. "Do not think, for a moment, Sera Toloka of the Spelljammer that either Ellie or I lack the authority to arrest you. The Spelljammer is a known pirate ship and that alone is enough to impound the ship and detain every member of it's crew. However, I have caused you a great deal of inconvenience, and much more importatntly, I nearly destroyed our ship in an effort to save yours...as well as this city." he added as an afterthought "That being the case, you will go free for now, if only to prove that our sacrifice was not in vain." Having finished with Sera, Eronus released the card and turned towards Tess. "And this is for any trouble I've caused." he said as he tossed a small leather pouch at her; one that jingled with the sound of coinage. He added "It should be worth at least double all the freight here." With that, he made an about turn and spread his feathery white wings to their full span, and took off in the direction of the Excelsior.

Ellie watched Eronus fly into the distance for a moment, then spoke. "Cute. I was wondering whether or not he recognized your ship....Well, in any event, his forgiveness is my forgiveness, so you're free to go." When Ellie turned back to face them, she was no longer wearing a face that seethed with anger, but instead a bright, cheerful smile. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have some business to tend to in town. Farewell you two!" And as if she'd never come storming onto the scene threatening all to blow them into nonexistence, Ellie calmly strode off, whistling a tune to herself as she went.

Marcos was just about to fall asleep in the cozy little compartment he had found, until, of all things, he noticed something about the engine. It wasn't exactly in great repair, at least, according to Marcos. It was, to him, making a horrible banging sound (to anyone else it was a hardly audible 'ping') which, most likely, the last mechanic gave up trying to fix and simply told the family it was supposed to do that. Nobles, in their arrogance, figured that the mechanic was correct and didn't bother to get a second opinion because they wanted to save the money that they had so much of.

Well, Marcos wasn't satisfied at all by the quality of the engine, and so, upon risking being seen, captured, and thrown off the ship, he climbed out of the compartment he had hidden in, and moved to the large engine.

Now, most would notice that Marcos didn't pack his toolbelt. Well, that wasn't exactly true. Marcos always carried his toolbelt. He produced an imprinted Magnus, one of the few left from his crash due to the fact that he never really needed them, and upon the card was a picture of a rather laden toolbelt. He projected the object from the card to the floor (it did not fall to the floor, and therefore did not spill its goods or make the horrible banging sound about fifty tools would make upon a steel floor). He picked up the belt, put it on, and tucked the now-blank Magnus away for later use.

He began to work on the engine, making modifications here and there as he could, doing all he could to stop that horrible bang (ping) from occuring over and over again in the depths of the engine while the mechanical monstrosity was running.

At last, he was able to 'fix' it, which, he admitted, was quite the task while the engine was actually in operation. His hands were sore from getting too close to areas that were heated to high degrees, but all in all it turned out fine. He used his blank Magnus (he wasn't actually sure if this was the one he had used before or not, being as that he had a few and only used them for his toolbelt) and absorbed his precious toolbelt back into a Magnus for safekeeping, tucking the card away.

Satisfied that in the duration he had fixed the engine in that he had not been caught, he assumed that it was alright to stay out of the compartment he had found and enjoy the rest of the ride in a more open space.
