Alright... we've dwelled over this for long enough, and it's time to announce the final decision.
Before I declare a winner, though, I want to take the opportunity to tell all of you that I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every entry that was submitted into the contest. With over 40 entries, it was a very daunting task to come up with a single winner, and it took literally hours and hours of debating and reading to come to our conclusion. It may sound corny, but I honestly wish I had more baskets to give out; there were some stupendous entries. It made me so happy to see so many people willing to join our little demented family! I was impressed with all of the talented writers that entered, though it drove me batty not knowing who wrote what entry. In all fairness of the contest, I asked my fellow judge Skye to send me every entry that came into the thread unnamed, and I would then critique it from there and make my decision not on the person who wrote the entry, but on the entry itself. The few times everyone caught me in this thread, I tried my best to avoid spotting names, and just looked for any questions to answer (and a great thank you goes out to Skye, for assisting me in helping the thread out).
As for the judging itself, I greatly thank both Skye and Tweekend for their assistance in judging, the points and critiques they made, and the help they gave me in my decision making. I couldn't have done it without them. But, as the owner of both parents, the final decision was mine to make, and, as tough as it was, I decided on an entry.
But before you read forward, I wish that all entrants would pause and congratulate themselves on doing such a wonderful job; this has been such a fun contest to judge, and I hope you all had fun entering.
