Yep, as it turns out, Torey's your surrogate baby-mama!
See, Mer-Freddie can't really reproduce, seeing as she's, well, a mermaid effectively, but she wanted a baby REALLY REALLY bad. So, she did some high-tech surgical thing with Torey, and then you got involved. The only hitch was Mer-Freddie getting jealous, but now that she's got a baby, things should calm down.
Your life's one big soap opera, isn't it?

But to be an orphan, both parents have to be dead... or missing and presumed dead...

Careful... Mer-Freddie really loves that thing. Remember what happened the last time a baby was orphaned but was loved by its mother? Remember the funny-shaped scar? Remember the cupboard under the stairs? Remember that Torey hates Harry Potter and if the chain of events that you might be putting into motion unfolds, she will stalk you down and make your afterlife a living hell? Or is that a dead hell?

Well, since the pregnancy was kind of hush-hush, yes, a baby shower would be appropriate. Send your gifts, and we'll see what the little guy looks like with them on.
