As Caelen deftly turned to conversation toward finality and left the teepee--with Azariel behind—The two older Soquili were left alone. Both were amused, but found the situation a bit…awkward.
--------------------------------------
“Of course you don’t mean nothing—“ Azariel began and stopped, lapsing into silence for a long moment, chewing on words. Both his and hers.
“I’d say we have a bit of a problem here,” She said at last, long tail flicking and fluttering a bit in the wind. She had come to a bit of a conclusion, one that was rational and ordered to her and certainly explained a great many things—even if the path to that conclusion with riddled with twists and turns one couldn’t even begin to comprehend.
Shaking her head, she continued, “The problem is, is that we both there’s something there, but we have too many personal issues in the way.” She sighed softly, wondering why the hell she would be telling this to anyone, let alone Caelen. “I…am—and you know this—not the most mature person in the world, and it doesn’t help that I have the stubbornness and pride to go along with it.” Crap, she was probably making him smirk, Stupid, “Anyway—Right here, I’m working through some childhood vows here—and you aren’t being very helpful, are you?”
Something that could be a chuckle fell from her lips, “At least I don’t think you’re being very helpful, always pushing my buttons and getting me into a frenzy and then acting as if I hurt you—“ She gritted her teeth, that wasn’t terribly--well it was but not at the moment—so she should continue anyway, “Moving on, I just want to point out that we’re both dealing with a few things, obviously myself more than you, but I just—“
She let out a soft growl, “—Just don’t leave without saying you’ll come back, okay?”

Caelen had a hard time believe what the mare was saying. He had walked towards the edge of the lands and now it was going to be time for them to say their goodbyes at least for a little while. She’d probably be happier with him if he explained that his decision to leave for awhile wasn’t new, just that he had done it in a manner that wasn’t nearly as nice as what she wanted.
“I’m glad I now know that I mean somethin’ ter ye lass, but will it be enough fer us both?” That was the very question that had been driving him nearly up the wall for the past day or so, and the month before, and really since their first rather interesting meeting. Since then she had grown and learned much about the world and about him in general but that wasn’t enough for him to be comfortable in leaving her. She was a younge mare and a lovely one, another stallion probably could easily wander up and along and convince her that he wasn’t the one for her and instead that that stallion would be best at making her happy. At the same time Caelen knew he had a family to get home to and something told him that a new relative or herdmate so to speak was on it’s way besides the baby.
“Aye lass, I know that ye are workin’ through a lot of things that ye told yerself when ye were jest a wee one but I’ve a few points of me own ter make about that.” Sighing softly he wrapped his neck over hers in his usual ways. Wanting to touch her for just a bit longer before he was gone for another month or longer, it wasn’t in him to be a wandering stallion but before he could settle with her comfortably he had to take care of his for-certain family. “When yer young ye say all sorts o’ things that later ye have ter swallow. I used ter say I’d nae’r love a mare an’ if I ever see me mam again she’ll mock me ter high heavens… If ye canna swallow that pill ye’ll miss out on so much o’ yer life.” At least she’d miss out on him being in hers.
“Och, now I do have ter feel a wee bit awful about pushin’ yer buttons but I canna say that it’s fer nothin’. I want ye ter loosen up at least with me and ye’ve gained more tolerance fer teasin’ since we’ve met. Jest remember I don push yer buttons jest ter make ye rage at me.”
It was time to go.. How he hated it but how he needed it. “Azariel I’ll be back ‘fore the next full moon if only fer a quick visit. If me young’un is up fer the trip I’ll bring her ter you ter meet.” Now for the stipulation, “Ye’ve one month ter decide if I’m the stallion fer you.. or if it’s best ter part as friends… agreed?”

Ah. He was still leaving, then? Understandable. He had a life too, didn't he? She was just being naive and selfish. So she stopped and let him move past her, head tilted slightly.
"Yes, of course," She said finally, "One month, then, and we'll see what has happened since then. If you come, you come; if you don't, you don't." She sighed and shook her head, "I'll see you around Caelen, but you know that I'm not so patient. One month and if neither of us is there...well, we'll have the decision for both of us, yes?"
She smiled, and turned to go back, "Goodbye Caelen, have fun with your family, I will with mine."
