*Vincent grins when he sees the shadows appear*
Nah...this kind of thinking leads me to a great fight!
*The shadows rise up and take almost human forms. They each have a single glowing yellow spot on their heads which seems to be an eye. These shadowy forms suddenly grin, revealing four rows of razor sharp teeth on the top and bottom of their mouths*
Come on you scum! Come and get me!

gonk Don't egg them on dummy! Ack!
*Alex rolls to the side to avoid a shadow which dives at him, gnashing its teeth. Alex then swings his scythe through the monster, and it seems to vanish as soon as it's peirced*
Wow...these Yokai are really low level...I wonder why we're fighting these useless things.
*Another Yokai lunges at Alex wildly. Alex uses his scythe to push it back before ripping through it*

*Vincent raises his black bow. He makes the motion of drawing back the bowstring, though his bow seems to lack both a string and arrows. Vincent makes a motion, as though releasing an invisible bowstring. Three bolts of red energy flash away from the bow and shred three of the Yokai. Nine Yokai appear to replace the three that were just destroyed*
Huh...I guess the strategy is a lot of these things in big numbers. Good! I could use the exercise. Let's see how many can come out before they can't take it anymore!

sweatdrop I just want to get this over with so I can train more. My form still sucks.
*Alex swings his scythe, cutting down Yokai as they lunge at him growling and snapping their evil teeth. Alex's form is really quite sloppy, but it gets the job done. More and more Yokai appear, and he continues to cut them down*
These things aren't going away. Let's blow them away with one big attack!

Yeah ok...I've had my fun.
*Vincent fires a few more red energy bolts and blasts a few more of the shadowy Yokai before running over to Alex and placing his right palm flat against his brother's left palm. Vincent holds his bow out straight beside him, so that it is vertical*
Sphere Shot!
*A shot of red energy bursts from the bow. But instead of shooting in one direction, it flies over the heads of Alex and Vincent. The two brothers are suddenly surrounded by a spherical wire cage of red light*

*Alex's scythe suddenly glows blue. The red energy of the spherical cage around the two brothers seems to be sucked into the scythe*
Reverse the Sheild!
*Alex and Vincent are surrounded by a massive sphere of blue light, which blasts away from them in all directions. This takes out all of the Yokai at once, in a massive blast. When the attack ends, no other Yokai appear. Alex sighs and straps the scythe to his back*
Well...that's done. Maybe we'll be left alone for a while...hey what's with your face? It looks like there's something silvery on it.

*Vincent rubs the side of his face quickly. There was a small silvery spot on the right side of his face. It vanishes instantly*
Huh? You're seeing things dandelion head. Anyway, that should buy us a little time. Maybe they'll stop interrupting me every time I'm on a hot date.

*Alex wonders about the silvery spot. He could have sworn he saw silver on his brother's face. He shakes his head and changes the subject*
So...anyway. There's all kinds of different Yokai in the world right? And lots of them don't even attack people. Plenty of Yokai are very peaceful so...why are we being attacked by such large numbers? They seem so organized. Any idea who would send a bunch of shadow monsters after us?

Don't ask so many damn questions. Organized? Someone sending monsters after us? You need a hobby. Or a woman. They're just a bunch of crazy Yokai. They've been attacking us for ages and we've been killing them for ages. They probably just have a grudge and like hunting us. So shut your mouth and quit spitting stupid out of it.
