Lol I have a bag that says "为人民服务" with Mao's wrinkly face on it.
我也喜欢李白, 但是我只知道他最“红“ 的诗。。。"静夜 something"...

Is Li Bai a better poet or Shakespear a better poet? I believe Li Bai is the better poet.

...ahhhhh.
The style is too different to compare.
English poetry tends to have more subtleties and nuances and wordplay and double meanings, but Chinese tends to be more 大气, if that makes any sense.
I'm an Eng Lit student, have to stick with Shakespeare on this one.. s'ry. xD

lol. i'm currently studying romeo and juliet. Our teach let us watch the 1968 version and the leonardo di caprio one. and the 1968 one was nicer (: aye. reminds me of 红楼梦。

@Niphz Yes, they are from two very different cultures. The language of English and Chinese 是 一 天 一 地 。 Li Bai is more 浪 漫 主 义 。
@Kjingle I never read 红 楼 梦 and Romeo Juliet before. I have read 三 国 演 义 , 西 游 记 。 Maybe I will read them someday. I like to read 武 侠 小 说 。
