Crystal smiled despite herself. She had come to the same conclusion as he, lightly pulling her hands out of his and off of his skin. "I apologize for putting you in such a compromising situation," she murmured formally...just in case. "However, you've been a gentleman and have done nothing to put me in a place I could not remove myself from. Do not fret, my Lord." The woman paused, then leaned forward, lifting her mask just a hair as she pressed her lips to Irene's jaw line in a delicate kiss.

Drawing back and moving to stand, she looked towards the mansion to ensure they were alone. She sighed quietly, removing her stained gloves from her bare shoulder. "If you have a change of clothes in wait, then I shall go back and try to clean up. If it pleases you, my Lord," she added, giving him an opening if he still needed her assistance. The past few minutes had been surreal; she felt as though she was not a part of her body. It made the situation much easier to deal with.

“Naturally.” May responded, her head bobbing slightly. “This is a ball, after all. Why wouldn’t you dance at least once?” She asked curiously. “Looks don’t matter.” May pointed out, giving the girl’s mask a light tap with her finger. “Remember? They cant see us.”

A shrug came from the journalist as she started to look away, debating walking off or not. If this girl wanted to follow, fine be it with her. “Besides, I’m sure you are pretty. And I’m sure there are plenty of men here willing to give you a dance.”

May pointed to a random figure in the crowd. “Like that man. See? He’s on his own right now. How do you know he wont ask you too dance?”

Not currently wearing a mask, Abigale twitched when May tapped her bandaged up face. "I-I don't think so." She murmured, following May, though did so quietly. "I was invited, but I didn't get the ticket myself; I-I don't even know how to dance."

Stumbling over her trappings that were coming undone, Abigale had to stop a moment to try and tie the bandage winding around her leg up so she would no longer have another embaressing encounter as she had upon entering.

Hmmmm...

Crystal's kiss was surprsingly pleasant. The lady's warm lips seemed to lit a small flare at on his cold face. Irene closed his eyes and felt it come and faint for a few seconds, then opened his eyes and smiled at Crystal.

"Nothing felt more pleasant than a maiden's kiss." He teased, and struggled to get up. When he finally made sure that his footing was stable, Irene took ahold of all of his wet clothings, and nodded to the girl.

"My lady, please look after yourself first. My heart would be in pain to see you uncomfortable in anyway. As for me, I shall go along back to the mansion and find myself a suitable restroom to dry off my coat and everything else." with that he offered a hand to the lady.

"Shall we?"

Fighting the urge to roll her eyes at his kiss remark, Crystal found herself feeling as when she had first stepped off the coach with the enigmatic man; knowing fully well what he was, and that the night would have much to offer.

She decided that if he felt she was suitable to play his games, that she would partake. It was probably the only time she'd be able to stand next to him as an equal, even if she was still the same at heart. Extending her delicate, gloveless hand to accept his, she inclined her head towards the mansion. "Let's," she agreed warmly, thinking kindly of the man for probably the first time all night, "there's still much to do. I'm sure there's a flock of unsettled women who are distraught by your absence, my Lord." Crystal chuckled quietly as they went back to the mansion, wondering if she was possibly being too hard on the young man.

The young man gladly took the lady's hand. Before he locked her arm into his, however, Irene kissed her hand genly, and looked up with a playful grin.

"My repayment to your kiss, my lady."

Without futher sayings, he slipped her arm across with his, and the two (with Irene half-undressed) started to walk back to the mansion.

Lara held onto Calanthe's hand, refusing to let go in the crowded lines. The pair had been... more than a little late to the event. Only because the little vixen known as Calanthe, was very reluctant to put on the dress that Lara had wanted her to wear.

" I notice YOU'RE not wearing anything covered in lace and ribbons,"
the little girl hissed to her guardian. " And I noticed that you can breath and move freely," the blonde responded, which was of course, true.

Lara had made Calanthe wear a knee length dress that had a large bow pinned to the back of her waist. Ribbon laced her back loosely and frills had been sewn almost every where. The dress was complimented by a mask in the same colours and the same overly done amount of lace. The whole look practically screamed 'cute' and had made Lara fawn and dote over Calanthe all evening. The girl wearing it however, was not as happy. A look of annoyance seemed etched into her young features with a pout of disapproval on her lips.

Calanthe's 'parent figure’ on the other had was the opposite. A full body, figure hugging, silk dress with spaghetti straps and minimal decoration. She had gone for the ' simple dress, elegant mask' look. However the tightness of her dress certainly did have its disadvantages. She could barely walk and her breathing was heavier than normal. She had let her hair fall over he shoulders and was going to do the same with Calanthe, but the girl had thrown one giant temper tantrum demanding to have it braided and that if she could not chose her dress she would at least do her own hair.

Calanthe won.

At last the two ladies handed over their tickets to the collector and entered the hall. It was giant, it was beautiful, magnificent even.

" Can we go home now?" Calanthe asked, clearly not as dazzled by the extravagance.

Crystal walked arm in arm with Irene back into the mansion, casting a friendly smile to Lara and Calanthe as they passed. Moving back into the hustle and bustle of the gigantic room made her feel almost claustrophobic after being under the stars. She withdrew her arm from his, catching one of the waiters. After murmuring to him for a moment and letting him go, she turned to her date. "He's going to bring some salt and dish soap. It'll help lift the stains if you let the salt soak up what it can." Her smile was quaint but earnest; stains, she could handle. So much easier than men and ballrooms.

"I hope to see you again, my Lord," she curtsied as she turned to leave, "perhaps claim a dance on your filled card." And with that, she disappeared towards the bathrooms to apply her stain-remedy to her gloves.

Irene gave the girl a firm nod and smiled, watching her leave. Immediately after she disappeared the young man called back the waiter that brought salt and detergent. Irene murmured something to the waiter, telling him to fetch him a new coat from his servant that waited obdiently outside. The waiter nodded and went to do whatever he was told. During the moment Irene looked around the room and tried to find a safe spot where he (and his almost-nakedness) would not be noticed. After considering for quite a while he decided that the best was perhaps to follow the waiter outside, and get changed in his carriage. However, doing so would require him to cross the ball room, no doubt getting negative attentions from the crowd. Irene frowned at the thought, and looked around more carefully to see if there was any convinent route to make his way out of the mansion.

It seemed that a few new faces---or rather, masks---appeared in the room. Irene made a mental note to make himself know to those people, when he was ready again. With that thought he began to walk very carefully, but quickly, around the mansion, making sure that no one had set their sight on him. He was obivously uncomfotable with this, and hoped that no one would notice. It was hard, of course, considering that he was easily noticed even when he was dressed properly.

After the fight earlier Sommer had decided to take a break and had retreated from the crowded area of the ballroom to be able to take a breather. It had taken her a moment to calm her nerves, and even now she felt a bit guilty. But since nothing further had come of it she was willing to call that particular chapter of the masquerade closed.

Now she was weaving through the crowd again, wondering were any of her earlier companions had gone to. Or maybe she could find some new people to talk to.

Sena found it difficult to find interesting people to watch, until she caught a young couple who were soaked, kissing, and then vanishing into the moonlight. Now, the party was getting intersting, she mused, sipping her drink daintily. Her short gloves flaired at the ends, giving a classic yet unique appearance. Fetes of this calibur normally warranted opera longth gloves, but Sena preferred to show off her almond complexion and slightly toned arms.

Her candy apple lips drawn in an elegant smile, she enjoyed her beverage waiting for some interesting company to approach.

Keir inclined her head, expression cautiously genial. "Nice to meet you, Nicollo." Now that he wasn't invading her personal space, a part of her mind relaxed. He smiled funny, like he was up to something, but Nicollo seemed friendly enough. She shifted her stance slightly, dropping her hands to her sides before bringing one up to rub the back of her neck. She returned his smile, though hers was less devious. "Well...I'm not much of a dancer, really. I kinda learned how, when I was little, but it's been a while," she said apologetically.

Irene silently thanked god for letting his pass without noticing. He quickly slipped out of the mansion, and went straight to the carriage. The waitor that had served him was there, too, and looked a little baffled by the actual appearance of Irene. The young man waved the waitor away, stuffing a few pieces into the man's hand before letting him go. He then jumped into the carriage and took off all his clothes other than the undergarment, which, thankfully, was not nearly as wet. The good faithful servant handed him a new set of coats, which Irene graciously took and dressed himself in, without looking at his master's nakedness. Irene moved swiftly, for he didn't want to miss a moment in the ball room. The newcomers intrigued him, and he was curious to see how they act in reaction to his flirtings.

In less than a few moment Irene was well dressed again, and climbed off the carriage. Tossing a few pieces to the servant as a thank you gift, the young man made haste back to the mansion, where hopefully he would be able to show off himself again.

Crystal joined the throng of people, her gloves sparkling clean once again. She smoothed her hands over her black and white gown, casting a halfhearted glance around for her date. Her search revealed many new masks; although she hadn't seen every person there possibly was, she could tell fresh faces when she saw them. At least the drink area was cleaned up, apparently a discarded and forgotten memory.

She stood by the edge of the table, her attention moving to the dancers. Crystal decided to merely watch the flow and sway of those on the floor, taking a moment to enjoy the spectrum of colors that the outfits and masks presented.

Sommer spottet Crystal more by happen chance and quickly moved through the crowd. A few bumps and excuse me’s later she drew up to the woman. “I was hoping to run into you before the night is over.”

She flashed the woman a soft smile, fixing her unsettled mask a little. “I wanted to see if everything was all right between you and your date. Was he very upset about us whisking you away for a dance?”
