"Simple." He said, kissing her again, wrapping his arms around her. He led her to the local inn where they would watch the sunrise.

Davrick was sitting down at a small table, writing a series of symbols. "You can come away with me when my ship arrives. I'm headed for Esthar..and it will be quite an adventure once we arrive."

Tiana laughed. "I don't know that there's been anyone who could succeed in changing my mind. What makes you think you're any different? When I make up my mind that I want something, it stays made."

She stared at him in shock. "How the hell do you know that? I don't even remember my parents very well...I was pretty young when they died. And I haven't lived in Timber for many many years."

Tiana continued to stare as she started to shake. No...it can't be...but how else... the thoughts raced through her mind like a raging whirlpool. "How...how do I know you're not just manipulating me?" she challenged, emerald eyes flashing. "For all I know now that you've gotten what you want you could simply disappear, never to be seen again except on opposite sides of a battlefield." How to know...who to trust?

Davrick laughed slightly, bowing his head. "I'm afraid in that case..you'll just have to take my word for it. Hopefully we will not be on the opposite sides of a battlefield...hopefully the battlefield will be gone in a short time as order falls into place."

Tiana looked away, trying to calm her mind so she could think. Damn....I hope I didn't make the wrong choice. I don't want to regret... She ignored the hint that his side would defeat Garden, sensing that a futile argument for now.

Tiana studied him as she turned his words over in her mind, considering them. Finally, she sighed and nodded, closing her eyes. "Thank you." Maybe...maybe this had a chance after all...if only for a little while.
