Taking her hand lightly, the stranger raises the hand upwards and graces it lightly with a kiss.
"Milady. It is a pleasure to meet you all. I am Rathma, a holy man who serves merciful Pelor in the service of the council, when required."
Rathma looks around at the rest of his new aquantances again.
Well? Are we planning to stay here 'till the sun goes down or are going to get out of this stuffy house? There is much to be done before departing. I assume that this map
He waves the parchment in the air
leads us to the proper location?

"Nicodemos has said that it does. I suspect that stopping by the Main Square may prove fruitful, since you and Kintari have not received your lists."

Teramain, blushing, agrees and starts to head downstairs.

Well, let us then be up and going friends.
Rathma walks past you back towards the way that you came.
I figure you came in the front door? Well, that should be a much easier way out than where I did. Err...
Something occuring to him, he turns around and hurredly stalks off in another direction.
Wait here. I've forgotten a little something.
You see him walk rapidly down the hallway and out of sight. The thick thump of his boots keep you generally informed of where he is, and you hear some unknown activity. Shortly thereafter, a door closes quietly and the sound of falling bootsteps comes nearer as he turns the corner, looking satisfied and relieved. He stops in front of the group and holds the parchment out in front of him before continuing down the stairs.
Actually, I believe this was yours.

Dominic takes back his parchment. "Thank you. Let's go then." He follows Teramain down the stairs.

We head out the door, closing it silently behind us. We arrive at the city square and start heading towards the Hall, when we hear a small voice yell from behind us.
"Stop!!!"
We spin around just in time to see a cloaked figure dart around us and hide behind Teramain. Two more cloaked figures run up to us and point at the quivering bundle behind us.
"Release him into our hands. He is wanted for denying his culture, and insulting the tribal leader"
"I didn't think that telling the chief that it was a little better and easier on the workers to dig in a different way was an insult!!!" You hear the bundle squeak from behind our legs.
"Stop your pitiful whining, worm!!! You will be brought back to the tribe and punished for your crimes!!! Now stop hiding and face your destiny!!!" One of the figures yells.

Well now,
Rathma steps forward a little bit and takes an easy air of one who knows what he's doing. It almost makes you think he has the situation under control, but you know this to be a falsehood.
What kind of punishment does "insulting" the tribal leader carry? I should hope it to be nothing serious.

Heheh, sorry. Due to lack of communication, the parchment still reads 'Kurtulmak' as well as 'Rathma.'
"The punishment is death. We request that he be turned over to us for the delivering of the punishment. Insulting the Tribal Chief is a serious offense. We do not tolerate the alteration of the ways of the elders. Kurtulmak would frown upon the tribe and withhold his plentiful bounty of gold from us."
"That's why I hate having this name!!! I never wanted to be named after The One Who Sees All Tribes. I wanted to be named Sharuka, but no!!! The tribal chief wanted me to be named after the deity of the Kobolds." The little bundle trembled and you hear a 'Psst' almost like a small tongue being stuck out at the two figures.

((grrr...need a sheet badly. Must get on that ASAP. Rolls shall be under Rathma2 because I already have a 'rathma' in that die rolling system redface ))
Knowledge:religion (pending)
Diplomacy (pending)
I don't think I can just sit here and allow you to kill someone, no matter how offensive.
Rathma shakes his head defiantly.
This god of yours, the watcher of all tribes, he may condone such killings, but I will not. You are in the jurisdiction of the council of ten, and I cannot allow you to take him. Why don't you just leave him here?
Rathma shrugs non-commitally.
You've gotten rid of him, he'll never come back, and if it makes you feel any better, you can tell the chieftan that you killed him in the process of hunting him down.

If you can garantee that he will not return to our tribe, then we have no other course of action but to release him into your custody.
The figures turn, and walk away, always keeping an eye on the quivering bundle.
You know that Kurtulmak is a Lawful-Evil deity that is the leader of the Kobolds. The small reptilian creatures own him their lives after the collapsing of Kurtulmak's first home, from there, he became a deity, always to watch over his followers.

Rathma watches them go, still acting with a cool manner as though he really doesn't give a care in the world what happens. As the two cloaked figures slowly leave sight though, he exhales heavily and sinks down a little in his boots. After a moment, he turns back to the bundle that is hiding behind the group of them, and his usual mannerisms return.
Well, I've gotten rid of those two for you, but perhaps you'd best be doing a little explaining. It seems I've already caught your first name, but a little more information would be nice.

Yes.
Well, I am a kobold, a small reptilian creature with strong affinity for dragons. I was born a Copper dragonwrought kobold. My parents thought that it must have been a mistake. How could a copper dragon influence the children of a chromatic dragon? But my troubles did not stop there. I also thought way too much for a miner. I was also placed in a arcane school, where they teach the arcane art. I didn't do too well, so I ran away and hid. Lo and Behold, that was my calling. I discovered that I was very apt at hiding. I could hide places others could not. I began to train myself. I lived a little ways away from the tribe, always sneaking in and stealing food. One day, I got cocky and got captured. I was brought before the chief and told me that I was to be killed. I was placed in a small cell in the prison, next to the mining center. I began to listen to the conversations of the kobolds that were mining, they were once my friends, but now the whole tribe was my enemy. I began to think, again, and was eventually brought before the chief once more to try to convert to the traditional ways. I, having listened to the miners, had a few words to say on their behalf, not by their permission of course, and that which was said was called blasphemy. I was to be killed the next day for my comments. I could not throw my life away without purpose, so I snuck out. In the morning when the guards found me absent, they sent out a hunting party. They had just caught up to me and would have killed me in plain sight of the Council of the Ten Kings had you adventurers not been where you are now.
I have just one thing to ask of you. Will you allow me to accompany you on your adventures? I promise I will be a valuable part of your team.

You don't even know what we're doing, or where we're going for that matter. What could possibly compel you to...
He trails off and begins to look a little sheepish.
Ummm, where are we going anyways? That's a good question...Well then, I guess it's just not right of me to go ahead and pass judgement on you, and your talents could certainly be of use. Still, I just got into this group myself, and it's really not my decision. Although a copper dragonwrought you say? That really is peculiar.
