Residual senses from post transformation stuck with her awhile, which was both a blessing and a curse. While the wolf mind is formulated to understand a constant stream of scent information, the human mind is more keyed into visual context making it rather overwhelming at times to have both powerful sight and smell. The result was a massive headache. Colin looked from place to place, searching for a tavern, alcohol could generally dull at least one set of her senses making it easier for her to see.
A little to her left she could smell a combination of stale urine (either human or horse), weak alcohol, and stagnant sweat. She sighed in relief and made her way across the street as fast as possible. Stepping through the door she found that the smell inside was surprisingly better than the odor outside. Despite the deep purple half-moons beneath her eyes she was still receiving The Look from several of the tavern's male inhabitants. She smiled to herself, Good she thought, the alcohol is stronger than it smells.
Colin sat down at a stool on the bar and ran her hand through her hair. Something was sticking up in the back, she pulled on it and a chicken feather came out in her hand. Tucking it in her pocket she caught the barman's eye. "Whiskey." she said once she'd got the his attention. "Straight up." "Isn't it a bit early for that miss?" he asked. "Pour it." she growled, slapping the money on the table.
The drink was handed to her and she sighed. Back home they at least gave you a proper mug full... she thought eyeing the shot with distrust before tipping it back in one glug to the surprise and semi-horror of the other tavern occupants. She smiled once and headed out the door, sneezing.
Once back in the light she could feel the alcohol begin to attack her senses. It went for the human ones first, but that was good because it sort of turned off half the information reaching her brain. Something smelled funny: coppery in a way, like a combination of metal and flowers at the same time. Lavender and tin? Apple and silver? She sneezed and her eyes began to water. Colin finally recognized the smell. Magic. she thought with contempt sneezing again, her inner wolf had always seemed somewhat allergic to it. The sneezing got stronger as she approached an alleyway that was nearby. Her eyes were streaming by now and she could barely see the young man who was standing nearby. She bumped into him sneezing violently again.

((Fyi, I may be gone for the ensuing week, but hopefully not.))
Vivian pulsed again, acknowledging the question. Well, first off, I'm going to look a bit less noticeable. You may feel a bit strange for a moment. The latter having to do with the fact that Vivian was going to be drawing power from the woman holding her to effect this little transformation... But however interesting the ensuing seconds were, it only took about five of them for Vivian to grow a lot of rust and dirt and lose all her pretty jewelry and embellishments. She'd gotten stuck like this once, and man had that been a pain in the pommel... But anyway.
We'll have to join up and head off soon. When depends on how long it takes Hock to give up. Vivian snickered quietly.
Hock glanced at the woman holding the sword, glanced at the other culprits currently getting away, and made a split second decision. "Police!" he shouted, while throwing a lock several times tougher than the last one at the door and shooting a burst of red sparks above his location. Then he set off after the one woman, seeing as if he caught her at least he'd have one item back. "Thieves! There are thieves in the neighborhood! Get them, everyone!" Most everyone in the street turned around at the sound of his shout and the sight of Hock pelting down the street, and more than a few followed out of sheer curiousity more than anything else.
Hock, meanwhile, was reassuring himself that he had anti-thievery devices on everything expensive, at least. It might take awhile to track down the merchandise, but he'd do it.
Carilee winced as she heard the shouts. Oh, what she would do to have a little help at her side right now... Or not, considering that said help would probably attract more attention than she wanted right now.

Noru glanced back and sighed. Here's where it would begin to get difficult. As Hock decided to drag the rest of village society into this little escapade, her task became more difficult. Shifting her weight so that the sword settled lightly against her hip, Noru took off. A man reached out to try to grab her and she smacked his hand away as she slid through the thick crowd in the market.
Looking ahead of her, she saw a heavy group in marketsquare. Carts lined the circular market and several allies branched off from this area. Glancing back to make sure that Hock followed her, Noru paused just a moment to decide which way to go. Several of the allies took U-turns back to Hock's store. Perhaps if she could lead Hock back to the store and show him that she hadn't actually stolen the sword, but rather, had been in a hurry and had simply paid for it and left, she could scrounge up an efficient excuse and give the other's time to escape.
She glanced down the longest route and made her decision before Hock caught up to her. Dashing down the alley, she knew that this was the longest way back to Hock's store. That would give the other's more time. Out of curiousity, she would find them later. Or catch up rather. She wanted to know more about the sword, especially considering her history . . . it might come in handy.

Shouting filled the air with ear-piercing sound. Because of her sneezing Colin could only half make out what was being shouted. Luckily the effects of her prior transformation were beginning to wear off, because of both time lapse and alcohol. The sneezing was becoming more subdued.
Her eyes still watering she tried to hear what was going on. Chaos surrounded her as Panic and Bewilderment took over her thinking processes. Something about thieves was it? It was only one chicken, there couldn't have been witnesses! she thought hurriedly as she began to run not knowing where in particular to go.
Colin looked over her shoulder at the tubby man who was shouting, and sneezed once more. What on Earth is going on? she asked herself, finally realizing that his shouting wasn't directed at her. The flow of confused traffic prevented her from slowing down too much however, and she was swept along with the crowd.

"Whooo...." uttered Keldan as Vivian performed her transformation. It was quite facinating to watch, but not the reason for her speaking. It was because she suddenly felt a bit dizzy. The bard leaned against the wall for a little while looking at the sword, turning her this way and that.
"Huh. Well that's a neat trick." Keldan then carefully tucked the sword through her belt. Holding a sword in one's hand while walking down a street seemed a little... noticable. "I suppose I should've stolen a sheath too," Keldan mused as she started to walk again, based on Vivian's directions.

((Sorry, my computer access has been limited lately or I would've posted sooner.))
Jarrick stopped short as the young woman, who up close looked either drunk or drugged, bumped into him just seconds before he heard Hock shout something about thieves. Now Jarrick really hoped Hock hadn't recognized him--he wasn't a regular customper there, but even so the town wasn't that large... He glanced at the woman again as he edged back into the shadow of the nearby buildings. "Are you okay miss?" he asked quietly, meanwhile hoping no one would notice him. They all seemed to be rushing right past his alleyway, but still... What if the lock on Hock's door had included some kind of magic tracer or something? They might spot him the moment he wandered back into view. Jarrick was getting more nervous with each passing second, even if they hadn't noticed him yet.

The flow of traffic pushed Colin into the small alleyway. It was already inhabited. She blinked a few times trying to clear her eyes, and even tried rubbing them a bit. Someone was in the alley as well, and from his scent, he was getting increasingly nervous by the second. He was barely taller than her and had ear length black hair.
She sneezed once more and looked in him in the eye. "Yes I'm alright." Colin said finally. "And what about you? What's all this business with thieves?" she asked, inhaling to try and prevent a sneeze. It was getting better, they were farther spaced and less violent.

Most of the people around this area will probably just assume you didn't have enough money for one. Or that you stole it and forgot to grab the sheath, Vivian commented dryly as she sent the magical equivalent of an eyeroll toward the woman. They were on the edge of one of the less affluent districts now; she could sense people passing by the edge of their little alleyway every few seconds. If you keep heading the direction you're going this'll all turn into fields soon enough. Now what should I call you?
Carilee was now veering towards home, figuring that even if the sword was serious it couldn't fault her for stopping to pick up supplies. She hadn't quite made up her mind about this whole escapade... To try a life away from the maison, sure, but the risk of summoning demons without Agnroth's extra circle around her seemed a bit intimidating. And she probablly wouldn't have any time to read either. Hmm.
Hock was having trouble breathing now. Where were those hell-damned police when you needed them? He summoned up some energy--he had used too much of it locking the door behind him, but he hadn't wanted more thieves ransacking the place while he chased after one of their particularly cocky partners--pictured the best paralyzing spell he could manage in this state, thrust it out towards the running woman, stopped to lean on his knees and pant for a few seconds, and crossed his fingers that she had no magical skills at all so that maybe it'd at least hold her till the authorities showed up.

Noru glanced back, saw Hock fling his fingers out and immediately stumbled against the alley's wall. Her arms were heavy and her legs no longer wanted to move. She cursed under her breath and dropped the sword that she had been carrying. Curse the gods, she should've been smart enough to duck or dash out of the way when somebody began using magic. Quite frankly, she hated it. It was a cheap way of fighting.
She tried her best to move but to no avail. Glancing up at Hock, who was catching his breath, she shouted. "I paid for your damn sword you blumbering lunatic. Now let me go! If you weren't so stingy you'd think you'd notice the bag of coins I'd left on your counter!" She decided that now was time to play the unhappy angry customer and threaten not to provide Hock with her business any longer. "Never again will I buy from your store! Ah! Blasted fools! This is what I get trying to avoid trouble and trying to get away from all the commotion."
Taking a breath, she harumphed her displeasure and leaned uncomfortably against the wall, waiting for Hock to stand straight and ponder her angry string of words.

Keldan grinned at the sword's remarks about the sheath, and nodded as she continued to walk.
"Ah, where are my manners. You may call Keldan the Magnificent, Wandering Bard, Teller of Tales, Singer of Songs, Doer of Odd jobs, Esquire." She put on airs to her voice, and almost bowed, but resisted the urge. Not only would it draw more attention to them, it would also be quite difficult to bow to a sword that she wore on her waste. "But you may call me Keldan, for short. Kel to my friends." She winked, and continued to stroll down the road.
"So Hock is still after us then, is he? Certainly is a stubborn man..." she commented absentmindly, acting as nonchalant as a bard can be.

Jarrick started as the girl stumbled into the alley, at first afraid that it was Hock, there to make him explain why he had broken out of the store. "Umm, I'm not too sure what's going on out there. And bless you." Jarrick said this as he inched further into the alley, resisting the urge to look back over his shoulder. "Are you alright though? You look really out of it." Jarrick made a move to reach forward and help her steady herself, thinking something may really be wrong, but stopped himself at the last second. Though it went against his nature, he wasn't really in a position to walk her down the open street, besides; she could easily take offense and land him in even more trouble.

"Aye. I'm alright." Colin said. As the sneezing eased, she could smell more of the magic, more like a gentle hum as opposed to the angry buzz earlier. She looked at the man in the alley with her and had to resist the urge to sniff him. The whiskey had fully doped the wolf at this point and she felt much more human. She took a deep breath, free of sneezing for the first time. "Sorry about that, bit of an allergy...to uh, hay. Yeah hay fever." Colin rubbed her eye once.
The traffic outside the alley was still dense and confused and she could see a middle aged portly man, clearly livid with rage, probably the instigator of the ruckus. She looked back at the man in the alley and then at the fat man in the street. "You're not hiding anything are ye?" she asked finally, giving him a shifty look. "Just with all the commotion and you ending up conveniently out of sight."

Hock wheezed at the woman for several moments, internally debating her claim as he tried to breathe. "Paid for it you say? Paid for that sword, maybe,"--he didn't really think there was much chance of even that--"but I saw all your little companions running off the other way while I chased after you." Hock stopped to catch his breath again, loudly trying to clear his throat and lungs. He was also all too aware of the small crowd they had attracted. "I daresay if your claim happens to be true we can settle it back at my shop," he continued stiffly, setting his hands on his hips. "And if you'd rather not accompany me, I believe the police would escort you properly."
Nice name, Vivian replied, amused. We'll have to tell all the bards to use the long version when they record all of this. Though if you end up being the bard in question, I daresay you can pick the names and the facts both, as you like them. She reflected for a moment. Remind me to tell you some of the real versions of the stories you people are always repeating. For example, did you know that Gwwynfer the Magnificent never fought a dragon? It was actually a very territorial and rather mangy rat lizard...

Jarrick completely ignored her lie about hay fever, more worried about his secrets than hers. As he followed the girl’s gaze out of the alley and back into the chaos surrounding it, he noted with dismay that not everyone in the sword’s little group had been as lucky as he had. The tougher looking girl from the shop was directly in front of Hock, apparently held in some way, though it must’ve been magical as there were no restraints.
Calming himself down, Jarrick answered the suddenly very suspicious girl’s question, his eyes not meeting hers, “I have some idea and may even be a little involved, but it’s not really a major issue at the moment.”
All of the running around and screaming from Hock and the kids had generated a great deal of chaos in the center of the small town. Thankfully, Jarrick figured that he had at least some time to think things through as a result. He figured that getting Hock out of the picture was a given necessity, but doing so directly would not only mar his reputation, but leave the lady with the sword stuck how she was forever as far as he knew. His best bet was to figure out how to free her or at least find someone who could. Before that day he’d never considered learning magic. Carilee and her interest in it were the reasons he knew anything about it at all, so it was only natural that his thoughts turned to the shorter girl and the direction she had chosen.
He turned to speak to the bedraggled girl, realizing he didn’t know even know her name but feeling obligated to offer some explanation nonetheless, “Listen, I know you have no reason to believe this, but that girl out there’s in trouble for something that she really had to do and I’m the only one who’s around to help her out.” He turned to look at her as he continued. “I’m going to go for help now and it’d be greatly appreciated if you didn’t stop me.” With that, he began to walk briskly past her towards the chaos.
