Nobody in our band ever gets hit on because people can't tell if we're guys or girls under our shakos.
Although, those of us in pit don't get hit on either 'cause we're just too weird for non-band people. XD

The people in my banc would always hit on the drum major, me, because before every parade I would run around the band and hug every person, just as a side note, you can hug the drumers around their equipment it has been done.

Ha. These are all funny.
I remember when we were waiting outside for the full retreat at BOA Flagstaff, all the bands were squished right next to each other. One band kid asked me for my phone number, and another one was like: "will you marry me? =D" One of my guy friends claimed some girl said he owed her child support. XDD

I have had a lot of people hit on me while in uniform (never while I'm not in uniform, though). When I was drum major last year, my "uniform" was a costume. Our show was Pirates of the Caribbean, so I decided (as we had no guy drum majors) I'd be a cross-dresser and dress up as Jack Sparrow. OMG, the first game, every band kid (male and female) was practically hitting on me. At the least, they all had to comment on how awesome my costume looked. (I'll put a picture in, I suppose). Then I had about 15 girls who insisted on giving me a hug. This one girl followed me around at every competition and performance after that. She was...interesting. Whenever I'd give her a hug in uniform (hugs are becoming a tradition in our band, it wasn't too weird), she'd squeal. I also had a bunch of complete strangers hit on me. Every competition and performance, someone would make a comment on how I was "hot". Most of the time, I'm fairly sure they never knew I was a girl. It was kinda creepy. The worst was this one competition when I got on the podium to direct my song, the closer, and this one girl in the audience shouted "Jack Sparrow's hot!!!" at the top of her lungs. I was all ready to direct, but when I heard her...well, the mellophones told me I had a pretty amusing expression on my face. The whole band was laughing to themselves, trying not to move while at attention. Alright, here's a picture if you're curious.

She is the drum major and had to dress up as Jack Sparrow for our pirates show last year. Naturally, her being a girl and cross dressing got her a lot of attention anyways. Then, on top of that her "uniform" was so well done that she had girls hitting on her who knew she was a girl. That was a little creepy. The best part was right before this one competition, she took the stand and raised her arms about to start the song and some people in the bleachers screamed "Jack Sparrow is hot!!!" and her face had the best expression ever!!! I got to be in the band to witness that! It was great. Something gives me the feeling that you two know eachother. surprised Or it's a huge coincidence.

Not really. My friends that aren't in band always joke about are uniforms, because they make my shoulders look really big. eek Actually, compared to some of the uniforms I've seen, ours looks pretty normal. smile

It would be cool for my sister to be in Marching Band when I'm there next year and she's a senior...but she doesn't play an instrument.

Aww...that's too bad. You should make her play something!
It did get kinda awkward when I was drum major over her...but we're so close, it didn't really change much.
