Read Dune by Frank Herbert. It's one of the best books I've read. Brian's aren't as good and they're like prequels...

Frank was the original writer of the series. I also know that, and this may sound more than arrogant, but even I had trouble to get through the first book.
After i learned how to read correctly, after reading War and Peace by Tolstoy, I found out just how complicated Frank is. He put things so complicated, yet so brillantly, that i was suprized he wasn't denounced immediately.
But Brian is doing the prequels... and maybe its just me and my lack of willing to read prequels, but compared to Frank, Brian is nothing.
Or it may be that Frank is just more my style. But you must give credit to Frankie, since he made the universe.
I think of it as OT lucas vs. PT lucas..

Quote: I bought the book read a few pages and then threw it on my shelf, where it sat for a year and then I read it all the way through. I was like woah, that was awesome. Frank is better than a lot of writers. Dune is probably the best story amongst the 400+ in my room... I'm a geek ok!

Star Wars is Best Movie, but books.... nah, the best is all in ANH. Its like the beetles. THe beginning was good, then eventually it crumbled down to a point to where it isn't as hot as it used to be. but, who can forget Mystery Science Theater.... 3000!
