She was late. She knew it. But Meriah wasn't very concerned at all with the fact. Indeed, she didn't really want to be there, but with Zelerith sound asleep and nowhere else for her to go... what else was she to do?

So Meriah found herself wandering around the edge of the dining hall, letting the sound of numerous conversations wash over her. Her gaze scanned the room, picking out somewhat familiar faces, noting those she didn't recognize. She knew that she'd be interacting with the others present here from here on out, but that didn't mean she was thrilled about it.

Taking the offered hand, N'tren hopped up and grinned at his wing mate. He remembered that both R'ael and his brother were in his wing. A thought crossed his mind as he remembered how the brothers flew but really none of his business. After all, he was still a sack boy.

N'tren laughed merrily. "Well met, K'hin and J'est. I remember my first day with Datiath. That is why I stumbled into all of you. His first day, he followed me into the kitchens. From the time he was out of his egg, my beastie has been eaten with curiosity."

Looking at the flit staring at him, N'tren blinked and smiled. "What a pretty green and a green is what you Impressed, right K'hin? Congrads! And you J'est, a bronze right? I can't wait to see your dragons. They must be exhausted from today."

Chayse
Imirin caught the sound of is name and turned in a lazy circle to locate the source. Ah, that greenriding weaver girl. He affected a quick smile and began to slide throught he crowd in her direction.

It was only after retreat would have been very rude indeed that he noticed the other riders she was with. The sigh that escaped him was one of annoyed resignation, but it didn't show on his face as he approached. Pah, dragonriders. A glance around showed that Bait wasn't about to come down heavily (likely to try and take his head from his shoulders) and that for the moment, he was safe. Hopefully she didn't have the little blue beast present.

"Remia," He smiled and took her hand as his mismatched eyes wandered over her, "You've been makin' yourself scare since the last gather." He slid a glance over the gathered Orana and Janista. One of them must have Impressed, they were a happy bunch. "Your friends?"

Remia smiled and colored lightly as he took her hand, it seemed she was forever blushing around him. "I'm sorry, Imrin, I always seem to be dashing about, never enough time for anything," she said, and then turned to the others.

She tilted her head towards Orana, and made introductions, "Imrin, this is my friend Orana; she recently Impressed brown Ilorith." She nodded down to the small brown at the taller girls feet. "I'm afraid I'm new to the others, though," she added.

((Isn't G'dor in the Twilight wing I thought? I'll double check but I thought they were in different wings for some reason.))
R'ael had taken the day to forget about his brothers unfortunate idea and the scolding they'd both taken over it, glad to actually not hear the familiar ringing term 'Skirt Chaser' being shoved in his face.
"Well look at me!" He laughed to K'hins comment, gesturing at himself. Watching me in the air has got to be like watching a Wherry try and dragonride." He joked, laughing at the rediculous image it brought to mind, though truthfuly even he had to admit, he'd felt more....graceful since become bonded to Jaereth, as though some of the Dark Blue's grace had worn off on him.
Of course how could it not? You're amazing! He sent to the blue, who he was certain was listening, the response being a pleased flicker of emotion from the blue.
See? We were right about the little ones chanses of bonding. Jaereth noted back, in regards to K'hin, his self preening almost audible.
Of course you were right, silly dragon.
"So you're the bronze that bonded? Congratulations, you should be extatic though, won't be too long before you're putting on airs and bossing me and K'hin around." he teased.
Rikk for his part settled back on R'aels shoulder, posing dramaticly and craning his neck out for a closer look at Sonia, and seeming quite pleased with himself for keeping the lady flits attentions on himself.

J'est nodded... "Yes...bronze...his name is Corinth, I'm not sure that I'll get used to being called J'est any time soon though." He gives a wry smile. "And, I don't know about putting on airs... " He turned a touch red again and rubbed his thumb against his nose.
"I, didn't think it would be so, so... I didn't think having him talk in my head would feel so -right- though, is that, thats good right? I, it feels like I gained something I never knew wasn't there...it's...odd.."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 14, 2007 6:53 am

"She is, they both are," he said smiling as the green flit cooed and wiggling on his shoulder as if trying to find the best light to show of. "Her name is Sonia, and intresting enough my dragon name is Soneth. Though sometimes..I belive Sonia thinks she a queen. Or about the size of a dragonett, such a fierce little thing she is."

"Thank you N'ten... Soneth is sleeping at the moment." He added pausing in thought. He could tell she was sleeping..it felt so odd.

He titled his head at R'ael and snorted. "I don't think so R'ael the dragon would eat the Wherry. Jaereth would never eat you so you must be.. graceful." It seemed the wrong word. "Dignified?" He muttered to himself.

K'hin's eyes flickered to J'est as he spoke. "I know it just felt right."

((Honestly couldnt remember. They might be in different wings... I didnt double check... Sorry. redface ))

N'tren clapped J'est on the back which was a hard task considering his own height. "Trust me, there will be times when your dragon comes clamoring into your head without you realizing it."

A lump in his vest moved and a spotted flit head sleepily poked its head out, giving a curious chirp. It looked at the others of its kind and gave a hopeful queep and tried to climb out further.

"Shards, Splotch! Hold on!" N'tren pulled the little bronze out. "Got this fellow the day after Turn's End. He's still in the eating and sleeping stage. When you first Impress, it seems like you will never leave that stage."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 14, 2007 8:07 am

((hey no worries. ^_^ <3))

"Wow, I remember that stage both with Rikk and with Jaereth..." He chuckled to N'trens comment, remembering how much work it had been to keep Jaereth in food. "It all works out though doesn't it?" He reached over to teasingly toustle K'hins hair. "Yeah but it feels about what that would look like." He teased, laughing. "I don't know. I've felt a bit less like a stumbling oaf since we started really flying, but it's hard not to remembering being that, when the only time I was ever 'graceful' was at sea."

"You have a bronze too. He's adorable." Splotch certainly suited the little bronze with his spotted body. He looked back at Sonia who's eyes had focused on the new flit for a moment before turning back towards Rikk.

K'hin allowed his hair toustled, grinning. "Well, we also have the pool. Even though it needs to be cleaned and widened up now."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 14, 2007 9:14 am

"True true." he grined. "Though Now we're going to have to tell J'est and N'tren about it." He pointed out, laughing. Their secret pool had been a way to get away, though it hadn't done much to make Jareths broad frame any smaller, though he seemed to 'fit' it better now.
"Uh oh, see that Rikk? You've got competition for the ladies!" He teased.

"We could use a bit of help though with the pool," K'hin replied flustered. He had forgot that the pool was mostly secret. Only R'ael and him have been to it. It was on a secret path though so he wasn't to worried about having it found out.

"True true, though these two had maybe better promise not to drag other people out there unless we need to." He joked, though he really didn't mind these two. N'tren he knew at least passingly, and J'est seemed like a good sort. "I just don't want to loose the one place I can go that G'dor can't find me, you know? I mean I know he's my brother but he can be a real sharding pain sometimes." He waved his hand as though to banish something anoying, mostly the thoughts of his white haired milk brother, who was spoiling an otherwise good day. Him and that damn cat.....

A pool for swimming? Was Datiath's response.

N'tren listened as R'ael and K'hin talked back and forth about their secret pool. Honestly, it seemed like a fun idea. But if it was just supposed be between the two boys then he did not want to intrude.

"Well, if it is supposed to be a secret... Then you two can keep it amounst yourselves if you don't want to share. But if you need help or anything, then I'm no blabbermouth." Resorting down to child's terms in a case like this was almost amusing. "Of course, with Datiath always up for a swim... It would have to be a big pool."

Splotch, in the meantime, had decided that sleep time was done and eating time should commense. Mewling and chirping unhappily, he waited for N'tren to stuff his mouth. Grabbing a meatroll on a passing tray, the bronze rider was only too happy to oblidge.

"True, it's a place for me to go and be alone when I need to." K'hin pressed his lips together in thought. "Perhaps we can blindfold them and lead them there till we know they are trustworthy? " The pool could not be found out by causal searching. The path had been carefully marked so only those who knew the markings could find it.

"THe dragon outgrew the pool. We have thought of widening it but that would be a lot of work."

Izzy Makani
Nevaeh watched calmly as a flit snatched food from Syleti's plate. That blue certainly needed some training for sure, of course so did many other flits around the Weyr. "He's rather amusing." She replied watching the flit devour his piece of meat.

Turning her gaze back to Syleti she sighed. She knew how hard it was to really be away from your family after living with them for most of your life. "Yeah you'll get free time as time passed though it'll be a while before you can see your family unless they come to you. Only after your dragon learns to fly and go between will you ever be able to leave the Weyr. Once they're able to fly though your free to go see your family as long as you let your weyrlingmaster know where you are going."
"That's good to know," Syleti commented, still sneaking the occasional glare at the blue firelizard. "Yes, he's quite amusing...until you get used to him. At least I can get him to carry messages home sometimes, if I tie them on tight enough." She snorted, taking a few more bites from her meatroll. "He tries to 'lose' them so it looks like he delivered the message, otherwise."
