Name: Matt "Newski" Pniewski

Decent: 50% or more Irish. Mother was mostly Irish, I believe my father was half. I know I am probably more.

Hometown: Chicago Illinois, the most "Irish" place outside of Ireland, as the South Siders call it. Then they sober up and don't remember saying it.

Age: 21

Occupation: Director, Screenwriter, Editor, Batman.

Religion: Agnostic-Marxist (Marxism is a religion with set guidelines, just no rituals, however, I accept the possibility of a God, where most marxists besides me and Woody Guthrie don't)

Heroes: Jane Addams, Mother Jones, Karl Marx, Lloyd Kaufman, Roger Corman, Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs.

Quick Bio: I grew up on the South Side of Chicago in a very poor family. My father was (and is) a Teacher and Film and Folk music fan, so I really take after him alot. Of course, he's into modern Folk music where I'm into older archival or traditional stuff.

I also lived in a very racist neighborhood. Being who I am, I rebelled against the ideas that they held standard, like Racial superiority. This also made me a self hating Irish person for sometime, because the majority of the people around me were, well, evil ignorant assholes and I incorrectly assumed it had a connection with White or Irish people.

With an inclination to rebel against social standards around me, and raised mostly by a folk music and film fanatic, I became the socially conscious film student I am now. I really started to become proud of my ancestry while writing a comic "Jackey McCloed and the Pirates", a Black Comedy about some self proclaimed "Pirates" who think their actions are justified but they are really a bunch of Anti Heroes. The title character is "Three Parts Irish, one part Scottish" as she describes herself and is very proud. Sort of got me in touch with my non Polish roots.

Now, I'm a Radical, Liberal, Fanatical, Criminal, as Supertramp would say. I'm a practicing pacifist, and I love Troma films... That's pretty much it.... I can go on about movies and folk music and such.... Anyone listen to "The Seeger Sessions" by Bruce Springsteen yet?

Dia daoibh. My irish is terrible, so forgive me. I'm 100% irish, well, about 5 generations back I had a scottish ancestor, whose name i share. Not that it matters. I live in Antrim, one of the forsaken six counties. Thats pretty much everythin that matters right now. Heya everyone, glad to be here.
