Ava smiled softly. “I remember when Vale was just a baby, it still seems like only y...yesterday but he is already a t...teenager” the young woman commented, watching her son as he danced behind Isolde. “I...I don’t think we have e...ever not had a baby in the house” Ava continued, brow furrowing as she thought, “so I don’t really know what it l...like to have only older children”

As their turn came, Isolde skirted under the bar with relative ease, only hampered when Noa decided it would be more fun to grab the limbo stick rather than to go under it. Giggling and gently prying the infants hands loose, Isolde bopped Noa gently on the nose as Vale had done to her. “Your’a meant to go under it silly” the kitsune laughed, dancing to the back of the line.

Despite his height Vale bent easily beneath the bar; silently thanking his feline-like flexibility as he moved to the back of the line.

Kitty smiled.
Well so far, Heaven's been my only child! Welp, try to bring the stick down a knotch!
She said lowering the stick.
Heaven clapped her hands as it was once again her turn as she this time arched her back a little bit lower, going underneath the now lower stick, making it much more challenging than before. But the real challenege of limbo was yet to come!

Lowering her own end of the limbo stick, levelling it with Kitty’s end, Ava continued to smile softly as the other woman spoke. “D...do you want another child s...someday?” the young woman stammered, not sure whether it was an appropriate question to ask.

With Noa’s small hands encircled by her own and the infants feet resting atop hers, Isolde carefully step forward, arching her back to duck beneath the limbo stick. Grinning brightly and babbling excitedly, Noa kicked her legs against Isolde until she was lifted in to the kitsune’s arms once more.

Once more it was Vale’s turn, and once more he bent beneath the bare – although this time proved more difficult than the first. Using his tail as a counter-weight, by shifting it forward so that wavered in front of him, the task was made easier.

Kitty gave a bit of a shrug.
I'm actually not too sure. For a couple reasons that is! The first is the fact that I don't think I'll ever be getting pregnant because I'm not married and I have no boyfriend! Second of is I don't think I'll be adopting any children, usually the children just come to me! But! If a child is ever in need and they come to me by surprise like Heaven did! Than I promise to take care of him or her! No matter what! I would take care of a child in need and feed them if I had no house at all and a peice of bread would be my last meal! That bread would go to the child, or a good amount of it! And do you want to know why I would make such a sacrifice? The reason would bel, because children are young and adults are old. Sure I'm only 20, BUT! I have had a longer life than a child, so I must let that child live longer. And hopefully when that child dies, he or she won't be a child any longer! Not even an adult, but an elder! Who died of nothing more but dear old age!
Said Kitty straight from her heart as she began to lower the limbo stick again.

Heaven was ready for a low grounded stick! She knew the moves and had been playing the game limbo way before her birthday! She started to play when she was only a toddler, and like as if it was nothing, Heaven easily arched her back and went under the stick, skipping to the back of the line.

'This is so much fun! I just can't wait to see what other festivities mom has planned!'

Heaven thinks to herself.

Pire had done all right so far. A few times, he'd forgotten to flatten his ears and nearly tipped the bar that way. He had a natural sense of balance, and had been able to counterweight himself with his tail and by holding his arms out and away from his body, while scooting under the bar as quickly as possible. This time was too much. Unlike Heaven, Pire lacked flexibility to go along with that sense of balance (walking on his toes and increased height didn't help him much either). He bent backwards as far as he could and prepared to cross. By the time his vestibular system told him to start flailing his paws in the air, it was already too late. He tried to twist around and fell on his right shoulder with a loud "Oomph!", giggling raucously.

"I'm out."

Heaven walked over to Pire before she went to the back of the line, helping him up.
You okay?
She asked, brushing his shirt off.

Binnie came back from the snack table. She was happy, but looked rather ill, like she was weakened by something.

After helping Pire, Heaven noticed Binnie Ann and quickely ran over to her.
Binnie Ann! Are you okay? You don't look very good. But don't you want to play limbo with us? C'mon! Take my hand and lets get back on line!
Heaven said cheerfully as she let out her hand to Binnie.

"I'm fine. Don't be silly." he babbled as he tried to overcome the faint blush that started on the bridge of his nose and feathered out over his cheeks. "It'll take a lot more than limbo tuh hurt me!" Pire joined Heaven in brushing imaginary dust from his green shirt. Ms. Kitty must vacum a lot more often than Leon did, which was about once every few months. He shooed her to the back of the line and stood off to the side to watch the rest of the limbo-players.

Ava listened quietly as Kitty spoke, lowering the limbo once more when prompted. “You d...don’t need to have a boyfriend, or be m...married, to get pregnant” the timid young woman commented, offering a faint smile and a slight nod of her head toward Kitty. “Vale is my b...biological child, his father was a g...god, who I h...haven’t seen him since, but t...that doesn’t c...change anything. I still h...had a normal pregnancy and b...birth, all without b...being married or having a b...boyfriend” Ava explained awkwardly, never having been very confident at explaining the unusual origins of her son’s appearance.

Although Ava didn’t verbalise it, she admired Kitty’s stance toward child rearing, respected the self-sacrifice she was prepared to endure to ensure any child in her care lived a full life.

Once more it was Isolde’s turn, the little girl bounding toward the limbo stick with Noa resting on her hip. Arching her back the kitsune shimmed slowly beneath the bar, the pink-haired child in her arms ducking her head and over balancing; squealing and grabbing at Isolde, catching the girl’s hair and pulling it sharply in her panic. Startled, Isolde straightened up and promptly banged her head into the bar; thereby ending her turn. “Awwww...no fair...” the child whined, calming Noa and dragging her feet as she moved to sit on the floor by Ava.

Moving towards the stick once more, gauging the lower height of the bar carefully. In his training with Lutrena, the Jupiter goddess, Valerius had been called to vault over bars, spring off them, but had rarely been called to limbo beneath them. Inhaling sharply, the teenager arched his back and shuffled forward; tail balancing him once more, making it possible for his head to be only several inches off the ground. Thankfully, his bones and muscles lasted out and Vale limbo-ed successfully beneath the bar once more.

((Ah! Vale is from the shop children of the Gods! So that's Ava! I remember a long time ago you told me about Cyn's sister having a child from the Gods at the shop! Can you give me his journal link?))

After Heaven was pushed back on line it was her turn once again, she quickly took a deep breath and arched her back as far back as she could, just making it.
She almost fell backwards as she was going under but finally survived.
I really don't think I'm gonna make the next one.....
Heaven said to herself, scratching her cheek.

Kitty looked up at Ava, eyes widened in amazement.
Wow! Really? Your child is a god?! That's really amazing! What was his father the god of? And me? Getting a child without a mate? I couldn't do that! For me, it's helping the families in need when they can't take care of their children, like Heaven for example. Or if I ever do get married or have a mate and get a child by becoming pregnant. And if some other occurance happens that makes me get pregnant like Vale and you for example than I'd probably accept that too!
She said lowering the stick once more, with a bit of a giggle as she watched Heaven stumble under the stick.

It was soon Heaven's turn again as she gulped going underneath the stick but soon lost her balance, falling down on her bottom.
Awwww shucks! I'm out!
Mumbled Heaven to herself as she got up and walked over to Pire to wait for the game to finally finsih.

“A d...demi-god” Ava corrected with a light smile, adding – “His father was the god of the sun” . Lowering the bar once more as Kitty did the same, the timid young woman stroked Isolde’s hair softly as she waited for the game to continue. “I imagine it would be h...hard to raise a child on your own, I was lucky to h...have Astraea to help me t...through everything” Ava continued, nodding faintly. “I’m sure that if s...something were to happen though, that y...you’d be a great m...mother” she continued reassuringly.

Having made it beneath the bar once more, Vale returned to the back of the line as Heaven approached for another attempt. When the birthday girl failed to limbo this time through, the cat-like teenager winced and regarded the bar with a tilted head. Sucking in air, pulling in and tightening his muscles in the same instant, Valerius bent and began to shimmy beneath the stick. The boy hadn’t gotten far before his arms began to flail, a strangled cry passing his lips as he over-balanced and fell backwards. “Ouch...” Vale grumbled, rubbing the back of his hand and crawling out from under the bar.

I don't know if his image has been updating, seeing as the shop has recently changed owners. I think I have his most recent art somewhere in my photobucket account - here))
