3000+ pts? hmm thats a lot of assault marines. with melta bombs >_>

statement fixed. eek

As we speak, I am writing up a 4,000 point Apocalypse list with DIY space marines and the Inquisition mixed in. 8 Units of troops is nothing to scoff at (especially when 75% of those troops have the infiltrate skill) pirate

Don't you mean
"(especially when 75% of those troops have the infiltrate skill) ninja " ?

What's the limit cap on Elites then? Wait... no one knows anything yet...

Anyway, I think it'd be kinda neat to Deep Strike in six units of Storm Troopers or Hardened Veterans with Meltaguns into an armoured company. What I think would be really scary though is Deep Striking six units of Assault Terminators into enemy... anything. gonk

There are 2 rumors floating about on the interweb regarding FOC in apocalypse

1) no FOC limits-- but that seems ogus to me (IWs would field all heavies)

2) before additional elites, fast attack, etc. can be fielded- a FOC must be filled out first (2 hq, 3 elites, 6 troops, 3 fast attack, 3 heavy support), once that's done-- you can use additional force orgs and go hog wild.

The latter seems more likely, and I am currently prepping for it (dirt cheap inquisitorial stormtroopers FTW)

I imagine they'll just alter the FOC to accomodate additional units. After all, the FOC is technically mission specific.

hey just thought i'd dig this up. as I'm muchly keen for this. Is there any hints as to what super heavies the space marines will be getting? A plastic thunder hawk gunship would be loverly! A couple of those bad boys for my Templars i think xd

Space Marines get a force commander model and a Land Raider Terminus pattern which has been hinted at by forums member of having a turbo laser. Seeing as most armies are getting anti-super heavy weapons, this is the most probable weapon outfitting. NO plastic Thunderhawks, get two jobs and buy one of those resin kits from FW instead

It says "Conversion Kit" on the pop-up.
Pretty handy, except now you have to buy a Baneblade and a conversion kit.

Chaos looks pretty expensive this year.

Well, newbies and people looking for a challenge could be good candidates for the company deal. Remember, MOST armies will get such deals. Makes me wonder how many men and Chimera's the Imperial Guard company deal will have lol

I think this expansion is just what 40K needs (as well as some new dexes) super big battels are hectic and so much fun whee
