Divash kingpinsqeezels Is there anyway to tye an oblong scarf like a tichel? I have like 40 oblong scarfs, and if there was a way, it would really help me. Two different scarf tying guides: Scarves only: http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/tying.pl Scarves, snoods: http://modestworld.com/free.htmlMy favorite methods from the first link are the Crown, Dutch Crown, and Butterfly. I also like the Jerusalem Twist, except that I tie it with the ties crossed under the hanging scarf instead of over it, so that it simulates the look of long hair hanging down. I found that website afterwards, and it's really useful. I need a good scarf...

Alina Sedai oh! i really need to learn how to tie my tichle so it dosnt fall off! thanks for the websites! ^^ One thing that helps me is to use these guides: Scarves only: http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/tying.pl Scarves, snoods: http://modestworld.com/free.html...but before putting on the scarf, I first put on an under-scarf cap, something like these: http://www.jelbab.com/Accessories.asp#2 http://www.hilalplaza.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=875http://www.hilalplaza.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=89This will hold your hair back so that you won't catch and pull it while tying your scarf. If the underscarf is made of a non-slippery material, it will also help your scarf not to slip. It also will help if you learn exactly how tightly to tie your scarf. Tying it too tightly can make it slip off just as easily as tying it too loosely.

Miss Shaina This is a fantastic topic! I am so glad I checked it out! Divash, you are my hero! Thanks for all the info! She's basically the community hero. biggrin I never thought of putting a skull cap on underneath my scarf, that's a good idea, especially for me, because my bangs get loose often.

You're both so sweet to say so. Really, though, it's just that you ask the questions that I happen to know the answers to. I've got all those websites bookmarked because that's where I buy the majority of my headwear. I will point out, though, that I don't buy their clothing. I'm a firm believer that being frum (observant) doesn't have to mean being frumpy. I'm funky-frum.

Miss Shaina This thread has inspired me to cover my hair, and I love it! Woo Hoo! Aw, that's so cool! But just remember, if you're in the Jewish community and you cover your hair, people will assume that you're married. If you're married, then all is well, of course. But if you're not, it can seriously hinder your ability to find a match, because people will assume you're already taken. If you're not married, always let a little bit of hair show, or just restrain your hair by braiding, barrettes, clips, or just a wide headband.
