Right after being released Zyphyr flew at Ken and perched on his arm. The Pidgeotto cooed softly, it was a rather pleasant noise compared to his normal squawking. "Hey there. I see you've evolved," Ken said stroking the bird's head.
Utterly lost Mitsu blinked trying to take in what had just happened. "You . . . you know Zyphyr?" she asked a slight squeak in her voice.
"Of course," he replied with a roll of his hazel colored eyes. I use to take care of him when he was a Pidgey. He's Pidgeot's old pal." Pidgeot cooed in agreement. Mitsu exchanged looks between the two bird Pokemon. Zyphyr seemed truly happy for once. He spent the next hour with Ken and his Pidgeot while Mitsu marveled at his other Pokemon. They were all so elegant and amazing. She promised herself that one day she would catch a Swablu and evolve it into the magnificent Altaria that stood before her.
It was late afternoon after the two had spent together with each other's Pokemon. "Why don't we go grab a snack," Ken said a grin finding it's way onto his face, "and then have a battle like old times."
"Stop making us sound so old," Mitsu laughed, "and you're on."
"Taking a challenge just like that, eh. You sure have grown Mitsu, but you know . . . I'll still cream you." She really has changed. She not that shy girl anymore.
After a quick trip to his home Ken came back out with a platter full of fruits, candy, crackers, and everything else you could imagine. Zyphyr fluttered out holding a bag full of water bottles. You really like him don't you Zyphyr? I think I'm jealous. Mitsu chuckled a bit at the thought before downing half the bottle and reached out for a strawberry.

For the most part most of the needles hit Apollo who stumbled a bit at the sharp pains hitting him but didn't stand down. "Apollo I use your Flame Thrower agian!"Rearing up again before smashing his hooves down on the ground, Apollo was a bit of a showoff, he opened his mouth and shot out the same black and white flames. They cut through the the vortex of fire surrounding the Jolteon and made a direct hit.
Upon feeling the flames scorch it agian the Jolteon gave a cry and fell to the ground. The electric pokemon tried to pick itself up again but fell back to the ground.
Seeing that the other pokemon was defeated Apollo let down the flames that surrounded it. Neal seeing that his pokemon could be recalled did just that. "You did a great job Spike." He said truely meaning it. "Well its time for the battle between our new pokemon isn't it?" He said taking out his other pokeball.
Upon hearing this and figuring that he wouldn't be needed anymore Apollo trotted over to where his trainer was again and stood next to him. Meowth seeing that his back was free jumped up onto it. Over the time he had taken a liking to the resting on Apollo's back. "It sure is. This is her first battle so be kind." Dante said as he tossed out Levi's pokeball. Upon being released the small but growing Mudkip jumped around eager for her first battle.
"Haha, well we will see about that. Go Howls!" Neal said as he tossed out his own pokeball to reveal a Poochyena. Howls just growled ready to take on anything that stood in front of it.

Pookie stopped running around as the Magneton was unleashed, and cocked its head, staring at the odd-looking Pokemon. He watched the Steel-type hover in place, seeming to be observing his actions.
"Of course," Nina groaned. "The Pokemon has Levitate, so no Ground-type moves can hit it... Ugh." The psychic was quiet for a moment. Steel types are resistant to Rock-type attacks, but if Pookie used a Rock type move, then the attack would become a little bit more powerful since the move's type matches up with his own type...
"All right, Pookie!" Nina called. "Rock Blast attack, now!" At his trainer's command, Pookie bowed its head down, flinging it forward and shooting three rocks toward Magneton.

Magneton was able to dodge one of the heavy rocks, but the other two crashed into it, sending the Pokemon wheeling backwards a bit in the air. Due to its type resistance, the attack did not do as much damage as it could have -- still, Rhyhorn's attack power was definately something to be reckoned with, and Magneton's three eyes narrowed a bit.
Jasmine furrowed her smooth brow momentarily. "Try a strong Sonicboom, Magneton!" she called out, knowing that her options were limited what with all Electric attacks nulified. It'll be tough, what with both Pokemons' attacks ineffective against each other. But still, Magneton has another option. . . A very small smile tugged at the leader's lips.
Magneton hummed again before releasing two visible waves of compressed air towards the Rhyhorn.

After the filling snack Mitsu stood up and stretched. They had been talking for quite a while now and everything was pretty much caught up. No secrets were kept from Ken and vice versa for Mitsu. "So, how about that battle now?" Mitsu asked casually. "I just might surprise you."
"Well see about that. I haven't lost my touch either. Three on three," Ken said. Not loosing a beat he sent out his Tropius without waiting for her conformation to the rules he applied. "Let's make this a quick one."
"I'll be sure to. Sapphire!" Mitsu said calling forth the blue Houndoom. He gave a sharp howl boosting his stats a bit. "All right! Let's get in there with an Ember!" Sapphire ran forth the fire glowing within his jaws. He reared back his head and spat the flames at Tropius.

"Tsk, tsk. Such a weak attack?" Ken said wagging his finger at her. Tropius easily glided above and evaded the small embers completely. "Tropius use your Razor Leaf!" Tropius slung his head in a sort of half circle twice sending seven sharp leaves headed towards the Fire Pokemon.
"Burn them!" Mitsu commanded. There was no way that Sapphire could dodge all seven. He jumped to the side avoiding the first two them burned the other ones down with his Ember attack. Once he ashes had cleared from his sight Sapphire saw the oncoming Tropius heading straight for him with a well aimed Body Slam.
"Razor Leaf was just a distraction, althought it wouldn't have hurt if they had hit thier mark," Ken commented as the Grass/Flying Pokemon slammed all it's weight into the Houndoom. Mitsu bit her lip, she should have suspected so. "Hang in there Sapphire! Use your Smog attack!"

Pookie ran around in circles frantically, attempting to evade the attack. However, due to the Lock-On, Sonicboom's accuracy was ensured, and the attack eventually caught up with the Rhyhorn and struck him. Even though the Magneton was a higher level than Pookie, the attack hadn't inflicted a great amount of damage. Not sure how to respond to being attack, Pookie cocked its head a little and looked at the magnet. He whipped his tail around several times, mostly out of excitement.
Nina stared at Pookie increduously. Wh... whaaat?! A TAIL WHIP? Are you kidding me?!

Jasmine blinked, watching the Rhyhorn's behavior. How. . . strange. . . She thought, fairly surprised. It almost remined her of an eager puppy that was enthusiastic over just about anything. Nevertheless, Magneton's defense fell; it was just as bewildered, not sure what to make out of the Rhyhorn's glee.
"Magneton, supersonic!" Jasmine commanded after regaining her train of thought. "Nina, Whitney, you should cover your ears," she hastily called out in warning, doing so herself just before the steel, electric Pokemon let out an ear-splitting, metallic screech that resonated sharply in the gym. The leader wasn't sure what confusion would do to the Rhyhorn, but perhaps it could do more damage to itself than Magneton could with its Normal-type attacks. And then, maybe it'd be worse for Magneton instead.

Nina and Whitney heeded Jasmine's warning, but Pookie was less than fortunate; the supersonic waves confused him. Pookie's intelligence was already less than stellar to begin with, and causing it to become in a state of confusion made the Pokemon almost look pathetic. It looked around almost helplessly, not quite sure whether it wanted to attack.
Eventually, the Pokemon smashed its head into the Gym floor several times, before charging at the magnet with a Tackle attack.

"Lets try some new combinations. larvitar, Sand Storm on that tree. Keep it steady and ongoing. Spinarak, you wait for furhter command." Spinarak nodded and jumped back as Larvitar worked up another vortex of sand. The vortex roared through the air and slammed into a tree directly ahead by a few meters. As bits of sand and splinters flew up into the air, Crenu issued his next command. "Spinarak, Night Shade! try and wrap it around the sandstorm and make them flow as one!" Spinarak began to glow purple as a dark shade of energy began to fall over the sandstorm. As Spinarak attempted to wrap the shade around the vortex, all it managed to do was get scattered in every direction." concentrate harder Spinarak, I know you can do it!" Spinarak continued to pour energy into her shade as it wrapped around the vortext until the storm was fully covered. The instability of the attack was evident as shade spiked in random places as if it wanted to break off. Spinarak began to glow brighter and winced from the mental strain as she stabilized the shade. As the night shade sank into the Sand Storm, it now looked much more menacing as a vortex of dirty yellow and black. The ghost infused portion of the sandstorm hit the tree, it exploded with power and bore right through it, a small stream of sand flowing out of the other side. The drilling stopped as Spinarak broke concentration and started breathing hard. The mental strain was to much for her, she needed a little break. "this combination takes to much energy for it to be effective in battle. Guess Spinarak can't handle it yet..." At that moment, Larvitar droped to a knee and started panting as well. Apparently, he was also keeping the sand stable as it mixed with the shade of energy. "You too huh... Tch."

Magneton took the attack head on, three eyes squinting together. Normal type or not, that attack had been pretty rough coming from the Rhyhorn's strength. The magnet hovered a little lower, evidently starting to feel the strain of the fight; there was still quite a bit in it, however, and it listened attentively to Jasmine's command. "Hidden Power," she said quietly, watching the Rhyhorn's thrashing with a hint of sorrow -- she did not like watching this. It had never been pleasant for her to watch a Pokemon hurt itself like that unknowingly (and on a more practical side, although she did not think this just then, she'd have to repair the floor damages later too). Even after these years of watching Magneton's supersonic, she had not yet forgotten empathy and prefered not to ask the mass of magnets to use that particular attack, unless there wasn't very much else.
The Magneton glew with a purple glow -- its Hidden Power was of a Psychic nature. A peculiar, iridescent orb gathered in the middle of the three magnets, gathering for a moment before it shot out in a ray towards the Rhyhorn, much like a Psybeam of sorts.

"Hm?" Mike was distracted by the though of Felsic's soon to be new form. "Oh, they thought it was best that they would take a break and rest it off. Coming so close to death is tiresome work after all." He sighed once more, wishing for that one day, devoid of stress. "Besides, a nice walk and talk to catch up will be just what we need." Opening the door, Mike looked out at the unfamiliar Kanto landscape, water surrounding them on the bridge like walkway. He held the door open for his traveling companion, a smile on his face.

The boy scowled, but shook it off. "It doesn't matter, we'll just take you out with other attacks! Go Ziggy, use Headbutt!" He pointed at Althena, his confidence soaring with each progressing round. The Zigzagoon scratched its claws on the gym floor then darted, in a zigzagging line, towards the young Psyduck.
Keegan frowned; this was the very same attack that had felled Helios during the battle a week or so ago. What happened next, though, was completely unforeseen by either trainer. As the brown-striped Pokemon neared Althena, gaining speed and momentum with each stride, she calmly raised her arms once more, a faint blue tinge highlighting the Zigzagoon. She stopped the attacker in its tracks just as it was about to strike, and with her psychic powers, turned Ziggy's body so that he were facing sharply to the left. She then let him go, the strain of having held him in place for so long showing on her face. Ziggy uttered a helpless yelp as he realized what was about to happen, effectively delivering his Headbutt into one of the electrified walls. He gave himself quite a shock in the process, and now, dazed and weakened, the Zigzagoon staggered around for a moment or two before it finally collapsed in defeat.

The purple fumes traveled to the floating Tropius and inflicted him with the poison status. Finally a break for Mitsu or so it seemed. The massive Pokemon landed on the ground not wanting to strain himself. "Facade!" Ken commanded apparently having a clever trick up his sleeve.
The Fruit Pokemon ran forwards once more. The attack looked rather similar to the Body Slam that he had just preformed. The attack connected as Sapphire made a valiant attempt at dodging the Facade. Standing up slowly Sapphire awaited a command. His legs were shaking now but he wouldn't give up. Couldn't give up. His pride wouldn't allow him to. Mitsu took a deep and calming breath. "Bite," she said calmly although she knew it would be the end.
Sapphire ran forwards his fangs bared and ready to clamp onto his target. Ken quickly issued a Stomp, which was swiftly complied as Sapphire lay fainted under the Tropius's foot. Mitsu recalled the Pokemon mentally praising his effort.

"All right Howls lets start this battle off with your Howl." Neal said with a smirk. The black pooch lifted its head up and gave a loud Howl that echoed through the gym. The stat raising move caused the Poochyena to glow slightly as his attack power was raised.
"Levi lets start this off with your Water Gun attack!" Dante said with a smirk. The little Mudkip jumped forward a bit before opening her mouth and shooting off a burst of water at the dark puppy pokemon.
Before the attack could hit the Poochyena jumped to the side before he started to run towards Levi in a Tackle attack. Levi for her sake kept firing off Water Gun after Water Gun in an attempt to hit the oncoming Poochyena. Unfortunatly that was not enough as the baby Mudkip was sent flying as the attack landed.
Levi gave a little cry as when she hit the ground and tried to push herself up. After a moment she managed it and gave a little glare at the puppy who had hit her. With out waiting for a comand the small pokemon curled up in a ball and froze herself over before starting to roll. Upon seeing the attack Dante was supprised, he knew that Mudkips did not learn that attack as they leveled up. Figuring that it must be an egg move he grinned slightly knowing that it would come in handy later if she ever went up again'st any Grass pokemon.
