Toph could be Katara's bridesmaid. =DHe'd be so energetic and happy. He could help Zuko with getting out butterflies in his stomach. Toph would make a great bridesmaid, though she may make Katara more nervous if she points out the whole "thousands of people are watching them" thing. XD
xD That's be amusing. Though, she would probably make Katara feel better by pointing out Zuko's nervousness. Yeah, Aang's the type of person to not hold grudges. I'd love to see nervous Zuko at the alter. xD That's true. Zuko would probley be ten times more nervous.

RockyRoadSmith rachaella22 One thing I'm curious about is what kind of wedding customs does the firenation have? I mean, we know a little bit about watertribe traditions, but what about the other nations? Hmm... I'm not sure... I can't wait to find out, though! ^^ Me neither. XD Its like sitting on pins and needles waiting for it to finally happen. ^^

I think they'd follow most of the customs, but in the event one or the other couldn't do a certain task (like firebend a giant heart or something) they'd likely make it up as they went along.

I don't think aang would take it too well, nor Mai, Sokka mget kinda "Hey I'm gonna kill ya!...just kidding, but seriously..." TyLee wouldn't care and Uncle would just be fantasticly happy with the idea. Hakkoda eel that way too, but I can see the older generation having small problems, who knows, maybe even Ursa would be against it?

Somewhere neutral, like Ba Sing Se, that way thing might actualy run smoothly for those kids ^_^'

Fire nation for most of the time with frequent trips to Water tribe.

I think Zuko'd propose with a necklace, but it would be a Fire Nation wedding, seeing as she'll be the new Fire Lady. Maybe a few water tribe customs tossed in here and there.

Sokka would throw a fit first, then realize he'd be brother-in-law with one of his best guy friends, so he'd be fine with it.
Hakoda would approve, because Zuko would ask him first.
Aang would throw a hissy fit.
Suki would help Katara plan.
Toph would tease Zuko to no end about how she saw it coming.

Fire Nation, for sure. The Royale Palace, I think.

I wish their going against Zutara was well written. Dx Kataang and Maiko felt so thrown in at the end. Like it was an after-thought or something.

1,They would probably do a bit of both.
2.Well I am sure Aang would be jealous, but happy for them. Sokka would probably would be shocked, and make some stupid joke to embarrass Katara and anger Zuko. Toph wouldn't care. Hakoda, would be like any other father and be happy for his daughter. Same goes for Iroh.
3.Hmm.... the fire nation most likely.
4.Kids, yes. I'd say two or three.

The theme at the end of the finale was peace and the combination of nations and universal brotherhood or whatever you want to call it. ~Aang would cry but that okay, Ursa, if Brian would have let her come back, would have been proud, Sokka would have just made jokes, Toph might have been a little jealous wink , the dad would be happy, Suki would be all lovey dovey with Sokka because of her future plans ~They could have it in the crystal caves of Ba Sing Se where they first began to understand and care for one another. ~Fire Nation becasue Zuko would have to rule his nation although I'm sure he and Katara would travel to other nations to see friends and of course Katara could always go off on her own. She's not the prize hand bag that Bryke made her out to be in the finale ~Zuko has to have an heir but all politics aside Katara seems like the sort who would love to have kids(constantly mothers Aang and rest of Gaang) and Zuko also seems like the father type, compelled to be a better father than his own was, not something that will be hard to accomplish. I'd say a couple of kids but not to many. Maybe 2 because that seems to be the sibling order for both of them. Older brother younger younger sister. smile And I'm pretty sure they'll all be kick but benders, the girls being as pretty as their mother and the boys being as hot as their father. xd

For some reason, I like the idea of Fire Nation having a sort branding custom with marriage. Like, the bride and groom have a ring burned onto their finger as a symbol of their commitment and willingness to make sacrifices/endure pain for the sake of their lover. I dunno why, but I really like that idea.
Not sure if I mentioned it before. ^.^;;

How many? 1. a mixture, but probably closer to fire nation traditions since it would be katara marrying into his family, and she would be the one gaining a higher status out of it. 2. i don't think the shock would be as bad as we might've expected earlier in the series - zuko and sokka are pretty much BFFs at this point, so i think sokka would be happy to know katara's landed a good guy who will be able to take care of her. aang would commit suicide.3. fire nation (see #1). 4. i think they'd spend most of the time in the fire nation but have a summer home at the south pole. cause summers in the fire nation are miserably hot. XD 5. sure, but not too many. 2 at most, i think, given the problems the royal family has had with multiple children fighting to ascend the throne.

Upon further reflection, I don't think they'd be able to even have a traditional wedding. They may indeed be forced into elopement. Partly because Aang would do all he could to Frack it Up! at least in my mind. Though Katara's family ended up getting along with him pretty well by the end.
Also, If they didn't elope, they'd probably mix traditions, but I doubt they'd go shinto style.
Shinto is Japanese and the area of avatar world that's japanese is Earth kingdom. The air nomads kind took tibet and water tribes took well, polyneisia and inuit culture. In my head, Fire kingdom has always been India or Thailand, so There probably wouldn't be any sake drinking. Wow, toook a long time to get to that huh?

Wow, toook a long time to get to that huh? actually, none of the avatar nations are based primarily on japanese culture. the earth kingdom is based on late imperial china (ming/qing dynasties) and the fire nation is heavily influenced by chinese culture as well, though not necessarily from a specific dynasty. there are a few japanese elements tossed in here and there: kyoshi island, most obviously, and the kabuki masks worn during fire days festivals. but no one country is intended to represent japan.
