As I lend agents the tree i herd a sound as I did I new exactly what it was I turned toward the troll it was standing up looking at me over half its skin had been burnt off exposing it its mussels and my sword was still lodged in its side it let out and angry roar and then prepared to charge at me “sh**” I said to myself knowing I had no more straight to stand much less fight

I new that no normal troll could had survived “she must had had magical runes protecting it” I said to myself but seeing the injuries it had taken I knew all of them had been broken “finish it clover” I yelled as I tried to summon the straight to avoiding the trolls next attack

((Sorry, about that. I read it, but somehow forgot.. eek.))

Clover kept her distance from the sorceress. She never trusted anyone with extreme influence over magic. Clover watched as the troll emerged from the enormous slab of earth. A sigh left her lips. This journey was far more taxing than she thought it would be. Thoughts of leaving filled her mind, but then as she watched Epotheros get slammed into the tree she returned to her senses. She hated to see anyone of good nature get hurt.

Clover quickly jumped up to a branch that wasn't being controlled by the elf woman from before. In less than a few seconds she was set with an arrow aimed at the troll's heart. She couldn't tell when to shoot. The magical power in the troll was lessening, but she knew that without a clear shot her arrow wouldn't penetrate even the troll's eye.

Clover nodded to Tramer's words. Guide my arrow, and give it the power to kill this beast, she called upon the wind, and then released the bow string. Wind swirled around the arrow as it coursed through the air. With great force and a bit of magic it shot into the troll's flesh and through its heart. The troll continued moving slightly, mostly swaying about. "Is it dead yet?" Clover asked quietly. She was still a good distance from the troll and the others. She could tell if the troll's life had ended.

Epotheros started to get up during the time Tramer was trying to heal him.

"Save your energy kid, I've had worse than this, just banged my head against the tree pretty hard."

He the made his way over to the troll which was now nothing but a pille of sand since all the magic holding it together was gone. As he did this he craddeled his right arm which he used to do the Flaming Claw of the Dragon Lords. It was burned in several locations, which Epotheros knew why it happened. He was not strong enough to use it yet. If he was strong enough the attack would have completely destroyed the troll in one hit. This is another time his ego got he better of him today. He was lucky that he was strong enough to contain the damage just to his arm. If he was any weaker, it could have been his whole body, or the bodies of his companions.

He bent over an retreived his swords from the pile of sand as well as checking the blade of his katana for chips. Fortunatly there were none. He then mounted his horse and started off towards the town.

"We better get to the town before dark. We can figure every thing out at the inn."
PostPosted: Fri Feb 02, 2007 2:07 pm

As the group entered the gates of the town night was almost apon them. The Inn Epotheros spoke of was more of a castle than any thing else. The place was huge in size. It had enough rooms in it to house 100 people as well as a pub and a pair of hot springs out in the back. The hotsprings themselves were the main attraction. They were said to be able to heal anything which often drew many a person of high status to them. The prices though were not that expensive. The man in charge of the place felt that every one who came to the town should be able to have a chance to spend a day there, so the first night was free. He never really had to worry about the money because people would usually spend the week, which ment they would also use the bar for the week.

"Well this is the place I told you guys about while we were in the forest. We'll stay here for a while untill we are all healed up, because I believe this mission will be a lot more troublesome than I first thought. And Larien, do you think you'll be able to lend us your help. I feel we may need it."

He then reached out to the door nob and opened the large oak door which lead to the lobby of the inn, and walked in so that he could sit down at one of the tables to have a further discussion of the plans.

Sitting down in the chair next to Epotheros Larien sighed at the days events.
"I suppose that I might be able to do that for you Epotheros. But please let me look at your arm, I might be able to sooth and even heal the burns."
Glanceing at his burnt arm she sighed.
"I never thought I would see the day that the Great Epotheros would loose his temper and do something so rash."
Laughing quietly her voice seemed to attract the attention of many other men in the room.

Clover followed the others quietly. Thier party was increasing in number. She thought of how this quest may be too much for her. She didn't enjoy putting forth so much effort, especially for a noble. The sight of the inn eased her body. Ever since that hellhound pinned her to the ground, bruises on her back and legs ached along with the burning of the numerous claw marks that littered her upper arms and shoulders.

Clover tried to ignore the pain, but the truth was that she never had to deal with pain much. It was true that she was skilled in hiding her emotions, but this one was a bit foreign to her. Her occupation enabled her to kill from a distance; she never had to actually engage in close combat. There were times she had killed with her dagger, but those were just humans. A sigh left her mouth as she left Amicus with Alfie outside and entered the inn behind the others. Clover kept to herself at a slight distance from everyone, the group she traveled with and the numerous people crowding the inn.

"These burns are not just normal burns. They are from a magic recoil from me using too much energy ineffectivly during the attack. Even though I have a large amount of magical power, I have a difficult time controlling it effectivly. I was not able to stabelize the attack so I took the brunt of it instead of the monster taking the full force. I was just lucky I was able to control the recoil to just my arm. And for my rash actions, there were several factors that played apart to it."

He then glanced to another part of the room for a few moments.

"The best thing I can do for myself is not heal it with magic, because there is currently a large amount of heat radiating off of it. I will just go put my stuff in Tramer's and my room and go out to the hotsprings to try and cool it off. That is what I had to do the last time this happened and it seemed to work. The hot water will also help with the bruises and scratches I recieved from being thrown against the tree. In the mean time you should go heal Clover and Tramer. They may have gotten a little scuffed up."

With those words he went over to the cheack in desk and reserved two rooms, one for Tramer and himself, the other for Clover and Larien. He then went to his room to put away his armor and weapons before he headed out to the hotsprings to soak his arm.

As he lowered his arm into the hot water a thick cloud of steam billowed up as the arm was submerged into the soothing water. For about 10 minutes the water surrounding his right arm boiled and sent pillars of steam into the air.

"Interesting. The last time I did this it took almost an hour to stop burning. This time it only took ten minutes. It seems I have gotten a bit stronger since the last time I tried it."

He then lowered himself to a more relaxed positon with only his head protruding from the water. The springs were very quiet since Epotheros was alone which allowed him to relax, the pain in his back was also starting to fade away.

"So it seems all I need to work on is the control. If I can control the claw the other four levels should be a breeze."

Epotheros knew that if he was able to maintain and control the Flaming Claw, he would be able to use the other parts of the Blazing Armor of the Dragons with out that much additional training. There are five parts to the armor. The claws were the main offensive aspect. The feet gave the usur an extream amount of speed and agility. The chest plate left the person unharmed by physical attacks, the wings game him flight and full body protection and the helm gave him the ability to control the all at once. In order to find the exact amount of energy to use he needs to train with his other fire spells he has already perfected, since this one is one of the hardest to master.

"Well tomarrow is a new day. I'll figure out what to do tomarrow," he said with a yawn as he relaxed in the pool of hot water while staring up at the stars.

Since the fight I had not said a word to anyone I fallowed the group but I was almost in a daze all I could think about was the sorceress
after dropping off most of my supplies in my room except for my swords which I keep with me at all times I heeded out side of town I went only a small distance from the town but just far engulf away to get some piece and quit as I walked soul fallowed me I then found a small clearing in the forest were I said down to meditate “she must be after the artifact to” I said to myself as I pet soul on the head I tried to meditate but I couldn’t I could not get her out of my head “how is she alive” I thought to myself as I rubbed my face in frustration I then noticed the pain from my ribs I felt around my chest and noticed I had three broken ribs “must had been when I hit the tree” I said somewhat laughing I then put my hand over the my chest “cosar bovon” I wisped as I did I could fell the bones being mended I then continued trying to meditate soul just lied down in front of me watching me closely

As I sat there trying to meditate I keep thinking “what is this artifact”
up to this point I thought the noble was probably just a collector of old relics but the fact that she is after it means that it must be something much more “I should ask eptheros if he knows what were recovering” I thought to myself as I finally was able to clear my mind and go into a deep meditation soul just laid there and watched over me closely

Larien sat in the tree right above Tramer and looked down at him every once in a while. She could sence his discomfort from his broken ribs.
"I can heal you from the inside if you wish to be free of the pain." She called down softly.
She leaned against the tree and waited for an answer. Looking up at the stars she sighed.
I wonder if Epotheros ever forgave me for dissapearing all that time ago.

After about 30 minutes Epotheros started to feel restless and decided to get out of the hot spring. He looked at his arm that 30 minutes before was severly burned, but now it had all but vanished.

"Seems that did the trick."

He then but his clothes back on and headed into the bar area. He scaned the room for a few minutes before finding Clover who was sitting by herself. He took the seat next to her and noticed that her clothing was torn and stained with blood around her shoulders.

"You should go get that taken care of. We'll be off again before you know it and we need to be in top fighting form."

Clover sat in the bar area alone, evaluating everything in her mind. She was constantly doubting her ability to move on and continue the quest. Every time she convinced herself to just leave, her mind would change and she realized that this quest was all she had. Commissions weren't enough. As her mind trailed on she noticed Epotheros approach and sit next to her. Clover sighed in response to Epotheros’ words. Then with little warning she lifted herself out of her seat and replied, “Good idea.” Clover scanned herself, he was right. She did need to clean up. After sitting and thinking for so long she had forgotten all about the pain, but now her arms burned and her body ached.

Clover nodded good-bye to Epotheros and headed to her room. Once there, she laid her bow and quiver along with her dagger on one of the beds. She decided that maybe these so-called healing hot springs maybe a good idea. She roamed to inn until she found them. A woman, no doubt a hostess for the springs greeted her and led her to a vacant spot. Clover slowly engulfed herself in the hot water. She felt eased and no longer noticed the pain from before. Clover decided to relax for awhile. A long journey taunted her future.
