She didn't know who those two people were. Elmani grabbed her and they ran outside. Rheana tensed, ready to teleport as she stared into the gaping hole they would disappear into. Suddenly, time stopped as uncontrolled magic exploded from inside the mansion.

They ran from the two mages. Elmani used her magic to open a teleportation gap. Something touched her mind, and, reacting instinctively, she seized it. The person loosened her grasp on her magic, and all four of them were thrown into the gap.

Marki felt himself being swallowed in a vortex without time, without substance. So this is waht it feels like... Fear...

Rita was terrified. What had she done? What had she done? She had lost control yet again. She was blinded by light as time rushed past her. She couldn't feel anything. Where are we going now? she wondered.

She had no clue where they were. Rheana couldn't feel her body. There was...nothingness. And yet, where was all that light coming from? They were too bright, they hurt her eyes. She squeezed them shut, praying for a safe landing.

Her eyes weren't blinded. She was used to this. Elmani scanned the gaps, searching for the right one. "There," she said, her voice strangely disembodied.
Rheana opened her eyes. "Where?" she asked, confused.
"You can't see them, but we're going through that gap," Elmani replied, taking on her old soothing tone.
"Oh. But where are they going?" Rheana asked.
"Who?"
"The others."
"We'll leave them to their fate," Elmani said with a dangerous smile.
"No!" Rheana cried, but her words fell on deaf ears. Elmani was already preparing to go through. Rheana desperately reached out and felt something latch onto her consciousness. Elmani shrieked with anger, and Rheana cried out in pain. The other two were lost, but there was nothing she could do. They were already through the gap.

Shade rose out from the ground and laugh maniacally at the smell of life. His senses were as acute than any creature alive. But he was special. He was a shade; the most powerful form of evil. Not only did he have the pitiful human senses, but he had 3 other senses: The senses of light, darkness, and magic, of spirit and spell. He gliding along the ground thinking and planning his conquest of the world.
Shade suddenly felt a pulse of strong evil disturbing the atmosphere. He raised his head and floated toward the source. Pictures started flashing through his mind. A woman taking over the mind of a young woman, another woman with an undead knight also forced along in a portal, the first pair entering a vortex tunnel leaving the second pair behind. Shade suddenly stopped and rage pulsed through him. The name Lokran had been mentioned. He immediately transported himself to the vortex of time and sought the pair that was trapped.

Rita closed her eyes bitterly as tears trickled down her cheeks. She had failed. They were trapped. "So stupid," she cursed herself. She had thought that girl would save them. But the other woman had stopped that. Why? she thought. Why?
"How are we ever going to get out?" she whispered.

Shade saw the undead knight and the young mage. He drifted over, grabbed both by the arm and pulled upward until the were on earth again.

Marki swiveled his eye around, "Rita, you can open your eyes now," he said, "This shade just pulled us out." He pointed at Shade.

Rita scrambled up from the ground, her eyes filled with fear. She took a few steps back and almost tripped. "Shade," she whispered, "who do you work for?"

Rheana and Elmani were thrown into a clearing. For a few minutes, there was silence. But then there came the sound of footsteps.
"Elmani," someone said, emerging from the shadows. "This is she?"
"Yes," Elmani croaked.
Rheana started to get up from the ground, when Elmani's hand grabbed her wrist. "No!" Elmani hissed fiercely. "Stay down!"
The person chuckled, then said, "That's all right. Get up, so I can look at you."
Rheana obeyed, keeping her eyes on the ground.
The person placed a cold finger under her chin and forced Rheana to look up. The man was strikingly handsome, perhaps in his mid 20s, and yet his face had a hint of cruelty in it. "I am Loktran," he said, smiling at her. Rheana nodded mutely. "And what is your name?" he asked.
"R-Rheana," she said, voice barely audible.
"Speak up, girl," Elmani hissed from beside her.
"Rheana," she said clearly, and she pushed Loktran's hand away from her. "I would rather you not touch me," she said. "It's very uncomfortable."
Loktran's eyes widened, then he started to chuckle. "Very well," he said. "Playing hard to get, I see."
"Neither am I your plaything," Rheana said. "You should know that."
"Temper," Loktran said. "Yes, plenty of it. And you seem very powerful. Very well, I shall respect your wishes."

"Who I work for is none of your importance but just to correct that, I don't work for anyone! I either work with or others work for me," his eyes glared with evil. He turned toward Marki and demanded," how did you know I was a shade? Although I can not be touched, I still have the power to grab objects. My powers are beyond those of anyone else's and am no living matter. I am the air you breathe, the ground you walk, the wind you feel, and a figment of your imagination"
"Any way that is of no importance! Now, tell me about Loktran or else!" he demanded again towards Rita.

I am no kind. You shall not find another one of me on this planet. No two shades can live together. Tell me about Loktran me dear, and I will take mercy on you? I can see all your heart's desires and you frustration for yo become more skilled. Now tell me about Loktran!
