Where's that bottle of superglue!

EDIT: I think Sibel just died.

(-shrugs- sure why not.)

After her last attack she could see something change in his eyes, they widened and then his outline wavered. She squinted and rubbed her good eye, but it did no good. After a moment he lurched foreward with speed she would have previously thought impossible for any mortal to obtain.

She heard the ring of steel and for a moment he was visible as his blade cut deep into the muscles on her shoulder. Her arm, covering her face protectively, fell to her side. Limp, and useless.

His visage wavered once more as he backed away and then luched foreward once more. Sibel leapt backwards, feeling heady releaf as she heard his sword whistle past, mere inches from her trembling legs.
Her heart was beating in her throat, and despite her enjoyment of the hot pain gnawing at her face and shoulder she knew her body couldn't take much more.

Suddenly he was back, pressing her arm to her side as his claw bit deep into her soft abdomen. She felt omething rupture and almost swallowed her tongue with shock. She was no better than dead now. she could feel its icy kiss against her extremeties. Her heart fluttered within her ribcage.
With ruptured viscera she was promised a long and painful ordeal before she retired into the death gods gentle hands.

She heard the air sing, a chorus like so many sweet angels. For a mere moment her eyes met those of her killers. Eyes that showed no fear, only painful acceptance. She did not see the blow that killed her, but she felt its hot edge rip through her jugular vein, and esophagus.
She fell to the floor with a wet sigh, blood gurgling forth from her ruined throat.

Los laughed.

Auren sighed with relief. That trial was over, but he could feel there were others about to begin. Moving before Laos could, he cast a spell that would bind her soul to the bleeding edge. The clone of Mishizuri had everyone else who had met their deaths souls entwined around it, so why not her too.

He turned to Laos. "Sorry, but I will not allow you to have her. I know what lies in store for her." He then approached Shavas, senses on the edge of breakdown, ANYTHING to let him know that Laos was going to do something horrible to him.

Crouching, he whispered a few words of encouragement, and cast a healing spell, removing most of the trauma done to Shavas. Picking her up, he pointed Bleeding Edge at the demon with Nadeira in its greasy claws. "Let her go, before you wind up like Sibel."

Jadira was smiling widely, her pointed eye teeth showing pearly white against the red of her lips. She sighed, "You have done me a service Auren." The musical tones of her voice cut through the shocked silence of her companions and reverberated throughout the chamber. "I can't say I don't envy you, drenched in that witches blood, and of course, the satisfaction of feeling your blade, and your hand bite into her flesh..." She shivered and stretched luxuriously, unfolding her legs and slowly straightening. Her fall of long blond curls gently swaying as she glided don the stairs, slithering over her bare shoulders like snakes.

Her red eyes brightened as she neared Sibels corpse, lying prostrate on the ground, in a pool of her own blood. She knelt down and, almost passionatly, caressed the sorceress's porcelin cheeks. After a moment her eyes, twin ruby droplets, flashed, she slapped her. Sibel'd head rolled limply. The flare on her cheek was not nearly as satisfying as she had hoped, seeing as the majority of her blood was spilling on the floor. Her face was bone white, her eyes widened widened with shock, her full mouth opened and slack.

Suddenly, Jadira threw back her head and laughed. " Now look whose bleeding sibel!" Then, in a quieter, slyer voice, "I think red becomes you."
She stood once more, blossoms of red smeared across her knees and dripping down her calves. And turned to face Auren, "As thankful as I am to you, I'm afraid I can't allow you to take Shavas. It was damn hard getting her here, and I'll not have my efforts wasted."

(Side Note: I realize Auren is powerful, but I'd highly suggest running. Very fast, and finding the other prisoners.)

Auren looked at Jadeira. "Too bad. Should've thought about that during the fight." Auren gestured once, reached down and tapped Shavas, activating a teleportation spell that would also mask the destination. "I have to take my leave now. I also highly suggest you do NOT pursue me. It'd be such a pity to obliterate the place for however much that will do."

Auren started pulling in the magic for a Hellspell. Backing up slowly, in a defensive posture, sliding towards the door.

((Yes. He's bluffing. Sort of.))

Jadira glanced back towards her father, and unspoken question dancing in her eyes. Laos smiled and nodded slowly, deliberatly, as his eyes met those of Auren Shiro. Absentmindedly, Jadira's hand glided down, her slender fingers aching to wrap around the hilt of a sword she no longer carried. Her fangs, talons, and magic were her only weapons these days.

She barely remmembered the days when she supposedly carried weapons and ruled the kingdom of Esperanza. Not that she inded... Much.
She began to walk slowly towards the man, her smile wry,"My dear Auren, you are indeed a very powerful man. A force to be reckoned with as my friend Sibel learned today. A worthy opponent indeed, but here, in my home, you are not facing mere mortal soldiers. Nor are you facing petty sorceresses who are much too big for theirbreeches. You are facing me, you could unleash the magic I can feel you gathering but it would do you no good, Arcane magic beyond your skills to unravel holds this citadel together along with the power of numerous demon mages." She kicked Sibel out of the way, her pace quickened. " Shavas is still here you know." She mentioned idly, a smile glinting in her crimson eyes, " There is a sheild on this place to prevent magical entrance or exit. The poor dear is lost somewhere deep within the belly of this evil place. Eventually our hoarde will locate her and she will be right back where she started. Only this time, you won't be able to save her. You'll be dead yourself."

Her eyes widened, and cleared of all emotion. Her chin rose until she stared at the ceiling. A blood red haze, edged with gold, rose and began wrapping its tendrils aroung her legs, slowly moving up until it enveloped her entire bode. Then it began to contort, and pulse. Jadira screamed, a surprisingly human scream laced with pure terror. Laos regarded the writhing mass with a knowing gaze. He glanced over at one of his mages.
Jadira's demonic blood was flooding through her defences, awakened by the raw rage pounding through her veins, and smothering all remaining tracees of her human side.

From within the fog, Jadira could feel the changes, like her heart pumped fire instead of blood through her veins. It was pure agony. The darkness that had seeped into the crevaces in her mind appeared once more, overwhelming everything. It filled her head until she thought her skull would burst, slowly the pain began to ebb away, the darkness to subside.
The fog thinned, Jadira, Heir to the demonic throne, fell onto her knees. Her hair draped over her face in a curtain, her skin glistening with a film of sweat....

"At Last!" She hissed through bared fangs.

(Sorry 'bout wait, and for twisting the thing with Shavas, I need her here for the final battle.)

(ummmmm as much as I would love to leave it alone I can't, from what I read concerning the dragons tear. Nadira merely picked it up, and in no thought or spoken word read was a wish made upon it. So there is no need for me to act upon it, however if Nadira were to be the least bit uncareful in her thoughts and a wish were to be made while she carries it. I will act upon that. So be careful what you wish for, or type.)

(Nope, she just picked it up, I believe I was intending dramatic effect. Shavas shall use it in the end)

Dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit DAMMIT Auren cursed in his own head. Jadeira's assention was something else. This was getting uglier by the minute. Nadiera had disappeared, Jadeira was coming closer... What to do... What to do... Dammit, what to do!

Auren had an idea.

He created about a dozen mirror images himself, while he gave all of them the same prescence as his while wiping his own. One couldn't sense him magically or physically now.

Then Auren left the room, to leave the mirror images to go after Jadeira.

The grimy stone walls loomed out of the darkness, flickering torches clogging the damp air with their oily smoke. She craned her head to get a better view of her surroundings and immediatly regretted it, she chocked back a gasp as her stiff muscles protested the sudden movement after being immobile for so long. Her night black robe was in tatters, revealing the bloodied curves of her thighs, her many wounds were no longer fatal, but gave her such pain as to render her motionless, and mildly delirious.

Those two conditions could deliver death as well, by the look and smell of this foul room, she was still within the citadel and since the doors were neither closed nor guarded she had to assume that Laos and his minions were searching.

Biting her lip against the burning pain, she dragged herself to the doorway and pulled the heavy wooden door closed as much as she dared, and as quietly as possible.

She closed her eyes and reached deep inside, prodding her store of power. Thankfully, most of it was still there. She had used very little when fighting Sibel, and that net had caught her early. Her eyes narrowed, Sibel would pay for that later. She layed back and allowed the sparkling black of her magic roll over her prostrate body and ease the hurt. After about ten minutes she was able to move without gasping, and although the pain was still there, she could still run. She snuffed out the torches, and pulled a moldy box over the bloody outline where she had lain.

The door let out a screech that nearly stopped her alaboring heart as she pulled it open. The overpowering scent of blood made her gag, an then she realized the oder was coming from her own bloodsoaked clothing. The stench of rotting flesh however, belonged slowly to the grotesque pig-like demon whuffling on her left hand side. Fortunatly it didn't seem to be aware of her.

Jadira straightened, stretching cable-like muscles as she rose.
Her senses were heightened, she could hear each heartbeat in the room, and could trace each back to its owner. It was unnerving, and empowering at the same time. The points of her sensitive ears quivered.

Laos looked at her expectantly. She knew what he demanded, his intentions for her whispered through her mind as though he had spoken.
She nodded curtly and swiftly turned on her heel. She saw his other commanding officers do the same. The other three headed towards the other wings, and the upper floors. She headed straight for the catacombs beneath her fathers palace. Each step rebounded off the slime walls. A damp, choking stench penetrated her lungs and made her wheeze sickly.

She could hear each movement clearly up to a mile in front of her, her perception was less clear after that, but otherwise her range was approximately two miles. It seemed impossible for her to find a single sorceress, even a mortally injured one in this mass of intertwined tunnels.
Fortunately, Jadira did have the advantage of sight in these dark passageways, Shavas would have to depend on the torched that burnt few, and far between in the catacombs.

She sniffed, and aside from the sickening stench she caught a faint hint of magical residue. She had probably passed through her. Silly woman, she was headed the wrong way, Unless.... Unless she knew of the sub-terranian river that flowed out in the very bottom level. Jadira placed a couple magical wards in the entrance of every tunnel she passed, that would emit a noisy alarm should a human pass this way. After a while she gave up, deciding it was too time consuming, and raced after the trail of magic Shavas had left behind. It smelled cool, and clean like balm. Entirely out of place in this garden of disgusting fumes. She must have performed a healing.

The concentration of magic was higher in this room, Jadira burst through the door with a snarl. The only occupant was a slimy pig demon. The lowest of the low as far as she was concerned. She killed it with a firm kick to its skull. The healing took place in this room. In her fury at missing the elusive little mage she exploded each and every box systematically. She was rewarded when she caught sight of a puddle of blood in the exact center. There was a bloody handprint on the wall, and even her footprints were outlined with the stuff.

The door exploded with a word, and she raced down the hallway her thoughts racing.
She must have tried to escape through the upper passageways first, and then turned tail. Smart of her, but she lost valuable escaping time. I'm
Closer than ever. She must be tired, because she's lost ground... Shavas is bleeding again...
She pressed her hand against the sorceress's own bloody print. She stumbled here.

Jadira was about three miles from the lower levels, with Shavas a good two miles ahead; she could just pick up the sound of her shuffling footsteps. It was difficult; she was barefooted now, her boots discarded in one of the countless chambers lining each hallway. The roar of the river suddenly became audibly. The demoness began to sprint all-out. Shavas was too far ahead, the river too close. She might escape. She raced down a spiraling staircase, and she knew that Shavas was at the foot of it. Racing for her only chance. Jadira's vision bled red, the thrill of the hunt was upon her; she unfolded her wings unthinkingly and cried out as the tips scraped against the narrow walls. She tumbled forward and careened into her prey.

Her heart was pounding in her throat she ran as fast as possible, pushing her body to the breaking point. The darkness was so complete; she couldn't even see the nose in front of her face. The only thing she could see was the river. Closer, closer, she was almost upon it. Something heavy fell upon her with a cry. She closed her eyes, and prepared to die but the blow never came. It was Jadira, and she was breathing heavily, scrabbling around and trying to find Shavas.

The sorceress got onto her knees and crawled desperately toward the sound of running water. Tears began to course down her face as her palms contacted the icy water. She dragged herself into it, but she was too shallow yet to be swept away in the current. She suddenly began to fret about rocks, and hungry cave fish with dagger like teeth. Movement behind her stopped the thoughts in their tracks, an angry demoness could cause a much more painful end than being bashed or bled to death. In the water, her wounds bled more freely, but it also amplified her dwindling store of magic. It was dangerous to act as a conductor for any powerful spells in her weakened state, but if that’s what it came too she would take a chance.

Clawed fingers wrapped around her ankles, she opened her mouth to scream and it filled with water, she gurgled helplessly as she was lifted into the air, and slung over an armored shoulder. Tears flowed freely. "No. Please!" She begged weakly, her voice little more than a whisper.

Jadira hefted the little woman over her shoulder with ease, and winced as her bare skin contacted Shavas's sopping wet garments. Some of it splashed across her face. Her tongue poked out of her mouth and she realized what was on her face was really Shavas's blood. Jadira shivered agreeably, her life force was draining away.

She started up the stairs, proudly bearing her prize when a burning sensation stopped her in her tracks. It started in her shoulder where Shavas was slung and sent waves of agony through her body. The pain amplified and she screamed, dropping the mage like a hot potato, only then did she realize her mistake. She lunged to catch the escaping shavas and caught only a handful of thick cloth, her robes. She had too much of them for Shavs to rip free, it was hopeless, she reeled Shavas in like an eager fisherman.

Shavas felt the alien presence in her mind; at first she tried to push it away, fearing it was the demon Lord trying to claim her mind. The presence soothed her protests, and gently pushed down her desperate attempt at a shield. Another presence appeared, this one seemed to shine with the essence of light and heat, and strangely...Female, The newcomer sent knifelike jolts into the demoness's body. At the same time; the other, quieter, presence somehow shielded her mind from the pain racking through her body. Jadira through her to the ground with a hiss. She hit the sharp stone limply but the pain was blocked off.

Somehow she found the strength to begin stumbling down the flight once more. Suddenly, she felt resistance. Jadira had caught a hold of the loose robe; this was it, the end. A surge of inspiration not her own hit her like a bolt. They directed her. She slipped her arms out of the loose sleeves, and shot down the staircase. Her muscles were still wobbly, but she could move despite it, the water lapped gently at her ankles. Something large and scaly brushed against her thighs as she moved deeper, and she froze with fear tingling up her spine. An urge from the beings, and the sound of Jadira reaching the waters edge forced her to move faster.

The water was up to her chest, and she was shivering uncontrollably when the current finally grabbed a hold of her. It swept her feet out from under her and sent her hurtling towards what she hoped was the exit, and not deeper underground. Magic from the beings made her light as a feather and kept her buoyant in the water, the being of fire bid her farewell. Shavas sent a wave of gratitude after her as she left. Now it was only the male presence. He kept her afloat, and was probably steering her since she never hit a rock, was sucked into a whirlpool, or swept into the shallows.

The darkness was noticeably dimmer, she still couldn't make out the ceiling but she could faintly make out the outline of an exit. The light was blinding, she closed her eyes and screamed. She was at the top of a waterfall. The steady roar filled her ears. She struggled for purchase in the shallow water, but the current was still strong in the thigh high waters, and for all her work she only managed to get flipped onto her stomach and was now about to tumble down headfirst. As her hands swept through the loose gravel at the bottom, she finally found something solid. Instinctively her fingers snapped closed. It was a watermelon sized rock, so jagged that it scraped her palm raw as she struggled to hold tight. Her body was swept in a dizzying arc. Now her legs hung over the drop, her toes wiggling in midair as water pounded into her upper body, and face.

She was scraped, and cut as rocks, and other equally damaging things were pulled past. The being who had made himself scarce lately returned. His thoughts became her own. Conveying feelings of reassurance and bravery. She ignored them and steadfastly held onto her lifeline. Now the feelings were full of annoyance and a tinge of regret, Shavas's eyes narrowed suspiciously. The shields blocking the majority of her pain rose for a split second, but long enough to make her arch her back with pain and release the rock. She was numb as her body went into shock, and limply tumbled over the edge. A pillow of air slowed her fall as she neared the rocky bottom. It was invisible, but it was shaped vaguely like a hand. Her body slipped off the platform and into warm, shallow water.

It was a few moments before the gathered the courage to open her eyes.
If memory served her right, she was in the belly of Esperanza's castle. In the maids bathing quarters. She was ushered into the shallower waters until her head was pillowed against the rough tiling. Sighing with exhaustion she relaxed, and allowed herself to slip into blissful unconsciousness.
