There are some verses that seem to indicate baptism as a necessary requirement for salvation. However, since the Bible so clearly tells us that salvation is by faith alone (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5) there must be a different interpretation of those verses. Scripture does not contradict Scripture. In Bible times, a person who converted from one religion to another was often baptized to identify conversion. Baptism was the means of making a decision public. Those who refused to be baptized were saying they did not truly believe. So, in the minds of the apostles, the idea of an un-baptized believer was unheard of. When a person claimed to believe in Christ, yet was ashamed to proclaim his faith in public, it indicated that he did not have true faith.

But still Baptism is Necessary for salvation because it washes away our sins (and if C.C. Original Sin) Jesus did it as an example so we would be Baptised.

I know that I am saved, I mean, with all that God has blessed me with, how He has changed me into a better person, how much work He has done in my life. And to say that I am doomed because I didn't dunk my head in water....

Okay, so far you have not proved why you would NEED water baptism. You have not given any biblical proof to plead your cause, therefore, your ideals about needing water baptism are just a THEORY with no biblical proof.

Why, you ask? 1 Peter 3:20-21 "Baptism does save us." Also, it's the way the Early Church did it. They knew you needed Baptism. They were right. They actually knew Jesus and Paul.

water baptism is a public show that you are a Christian and that you have given your heart to Christ. To say that you are going to hell because you were not baptised is saying that the blood and life sacrifice that Jesus did to you SAVE YOU from hell isnt enough. What more does it take to be saved? Was not the shed blood of Christ enough? In some of the fellow gaians' replies it seems that that is being said.
I point to the evidence in the Bible where the thief asks Christ to save him. Jesus replies this day you will be with me in paradise. I dont recall Jesus saying,"sorry buddy but you have to get off the cross first and be baptised before I can take you."
Our God looks at our hearts. Remember boys and girls good works doesnt get you into heaven. Its the acceptance of Christ into your hearts and the asking of sins to be forgiven. Thats the only way.

1 Peter 3:20-21 those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood. And this is a picture of baptism, which now saves you by the power of Jesus Christ's resurrection. Baptism is not a removal of dirt from your body; it is an appeal to God from(or for) a clean conscience.
Summary Baptism is an appeal to God for a clean conscience... not salvation.

Do you people really think you can go without Baptism. Jesus was baptized to set an exapmle because for us, it is needed. We need to "repent and be baptized." Baptism is remission of sins. It washes them away. Without it only the little children can be saved. It is not public show. Doing it for publicity is wrong to every extent It is being like the Pharisees. It is remission of sin. You need water because you have to go under and be buried like Christ. Like Jesus was. He had all the world's sin on him when he died on the cross, and when he rose he was clean. That is us out of the water. The Spirit won't baptize us unless we go under water. Making the decision to be baptized means your ready to be a Christian and to be clean. It means you have turned to God fully.

It means you have turned to God fully. read my previous post, and if you have, then as you have tried here, please site biblical references other than "Jesus did it" and "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" Does not mean that this is there salvation to be known as baptism. It appears you are doing to baptism, what Catholics do to mary, not agreeing with such a decision is common for a reason. It is to be considered a threat until proven to be of God. Furthurmore, logic would lead me to believe that God does not need to prove himself, and that the truth should certainly be agreed upon by Christians. However it is an unfortunate opposite side of this coin that so many people only claim to be Christians. Thus a confusion of this sort or that may set in.

You do need baptism. I'm Collun's friend and go to his church. He means Jesus did it as in Jesus was baptized. Paul baptized people because they were unclean, he even says that "I now am glad that I only baptized two among you" for they were sinners. He is stating that baptism is not to be taken lightly, an utter and final commitment to God. It cleanses you of all sin and let's you be able to pray to God for forgiveness.

Right, and that does not make it salvation, for good deeds Jesus has done as well, and good deeds will not get you into heaven either. Did you read my post? The one before my last?

Jesus was baptized and was perfect. He didn't need salvation but he got baptized anyways to set an example for us, because we need it. Without baptism, we have sins on us and are dirty, baptism wipes us clean. Only pure people can enter Heaven. You can't be pure if you have sin on you. Baptism takes away that sin.

You write as though you do not understand what I have spoken to be the truth, therefore, I will do two things: 1. I will tell you, you are wrong, and that I have already written why in previous posts 2. I will not debate the topic, as that would be fruitless and may put a wedge between us I would rather have a friend who disagrees with me, than an enemy who disagrees with me. I'd also rather be a friend with someone who disagrees with me than an enemy to someone who agrees with me.
