There was movement all along the table as space was made for all the small group, food was an assortment, focused mainly around large bowels of hot, filling, beefbased stew. Michael himself chose to sit opposite of Henry and Tomorrow, both placed on either side of the center of the table.
"I hear that you're going to that strange place Henry, you've overshot a little, haven't you?"
"A little, but I didn't want to choose the castle as a resting place in the middle of a magicstorm." The bandages showed up all along his arm as he reached for a platefull of bread, offering first to the leader and to the people surrounding him before taking one himself.
"Wise choice, that place isn't wonderful on the best of days, though it's been blessedly silent of late."
A raised eyebrow on Henry's part. "Oh? Interesting, maybe this will be quieter then I thought, then." Michael suddenly looked a lot darker, unimpressed.
"You shouldn't be searching for things in that place, Henry, I've lost a lot of good, honest men to the lust of the treasure in there. Had to kill a few that decided to come back as well." A gleam of curiosity worked it's way through the common sense, Michael was still young after all. "Now you're proposing to go to Sorrow with a child and one of the Ancients? I can't believe that you of all people would be so foolhardy." A sip of the warm drink, yet the gold eyes never left the blue ones that smiled back.
"Have more faith, Michael. It's incredably important for us to accomplish this, no mere whim of mine to go treasure hunting. Totally an in and out deal, one item, no more, no less."
"So you've always said, Henry, still doesn't stop me from wondering though." A shrug.

"Ancient..." Tomorrow echoed, looking up from his fifth bowl of stew. "Why do you call me that?"
He then looked pointedly to Mere - yet kept talking to Michael. "And while you're at it, you can tell me all about the 'strange place.'"

Juuni had spent most of the conversation between the adults thus far attempting to clamber up onto the seat beside Tomorrow to get at the food on the table. Tumbling down to the floor for a third time Juuni got back to her feet with an annoyed pout, rubbing her sore rump and toddled over to tug on John's leg.
"Up!" she requested, hands held up to the much larger Tribal.

Hogosha No Juunikyuu Juuni had spent most of the conversation between the adults thus far attempting to clamber up onto the seat beside Tomorrow to get at the food on the table. Tumbling down to the floor for a third time Juuni got back to her feet with an annoyed pout, rubbing her sore rump and toddled over to tug on John's leg. " Up!" she requested, hands held up to the much larger Tribal. Looking down to Juuni, Tomorrow smiled slightly - before grabbing the backl of her shirt and lifting her up, like you would if you lifted a kitten by the back of it's neck, and deposited her onto his lap. He'd missed the little girl a lot...and, although he would never admit it, had been extremely concerned about her safety. Now he allowed her full access to his own plate - and the small Everest of food piled onto it. A massive hand would gently tousle her hair and stroke her cheek before patting her leg, as if signifying that it was alright to eat from there. To add some more enjoyment, Tomorrow began to jiggle his knee a little - and the little girl too. There was another reason for this - he was getting impatient for an answer.

Again Michael looked at Henry dissapprovingly, the other man just smiled into his mug and shrugged.
"You're markings when you arrived," said Michael, giving up on trying to sway the dark man. "My sister and I have been the only pair in three generations of us to have them...Ancient blood, is what the elders called it, very dilluted though. Though my sister insists that you are actually...one of them, a pure Ancient...truly, Tribal." A soft grin. "Says she feels it in her bones, and we've learned not to question this instinct of hers." Gold eyes looked to the impatient blue ones ironically. "The myth of temperment, certainly stands up to the test of time..."
"We're going to Sorrows Keep." Said Henry, interrupting knowingly. Michael liked to push his limits at times. "It's dangerous, seriously so. Demons play there, which is why we have a guardian angel." He smiled at this, becoming quiet as whispers trailed all around the table.

Juuni squealed slightly as Tomorrow hefted her onto his lap before rolling her shoulders and gazing wide eyed at the pile of food on John's plate. She purred as he tousled her hair and stroked her cheek before she extended a hand outwards and plucked a large piece of meat from the pile, gnawing on it contently as she swung her legs, the jiggling not impairing her ability to eat at all. Curious ears flickered and her eyes shimmered softly at Henry's comment followed b the whispers though the tiny child remained silent.

"And why was this kept from me till now?" Tomorrow asked, his voice chillingly flat.
Mere was lucky the little girl was in Tomorrow's lap. His temper was building - she was the only thing stopping him from beating the answers he wanted from Henry.
Coincidences flanked John no matter where he went. Conveniant ones at that.
His big hand reached out to grasp the drink a woman had poured for him, and he drank it down in one shot flat. The stuff tasted like his own FireWater - but only like someone had pissed in it. Grimacing, he swallowed it down - he had some decency left to show some manners.
Though that will be going out of the window soon...

"I never kept anything from you, Tomorrow. I told you how dangerous this would be when we started. What do you need to know of the specifics, you aren't the leader of this. Don't tell me you're growing concerned now that you out of an urban environment..."
Henry let that sink in silently.
"And if your concern is for Juunikyuu, you should have thought of that before dragging her along in your fight back in town. Besides, she's shown herself more then capable of taking care of herself, in any situation. I don't honestly know what we would have done without her."
Michael and the rest watched on in amusement, they were no stranger to Henry's "little talks" though it was easier on their souls that someone else was getting it instead of them.
"If you want to end it now, you're more then welcome to, but you'd have to kill me first, else you wouldn't have enough running time before they get you back in a cell. Strangely efficient, that captain of the Shields."

Kaym :: :Her legs finally let loose, allowing her back to slide down the smooth rock. She sat there, content with the distance she had covered in that short period of time. She had already covered the peak of the mountain and was on her way down. She had noticed earlier on, a type of road. At least, she thought it was a road, it looked as if it hadnt been used in a while. And if it has, not much for traffic passed on it.
::She would reach the road in little less then an hour. :: (MEH! That took forever for me to continue cry ) ::It was well past 8pm and the sun had let itself rest for the night. Kaym had been walking, Indeed she find the road. It did turn out that she was correct, the road was dirt and not much life had walked on it in awhile, possibly more then two weeks? :The downhill stretch was long. She could not see any lights from her current position and she was still pretty high up. The elevated fog had turned out to be thin misty clouds. The condensation would thin and then thicken sporadically. :Even after when her pace quickened she still found herself on a long trip. She sat once again. But, this time she found a rock waist high and decided it was a great place to scoup out the general area.
::No more then two minutes later, she stopped. The air was getting more dense and she could hear quiet steps at which were gaining swiftness.

Kaym ::No more then two minutes later, she stopped. The air was getting more dense and she could hear quiet steps at which were gaining swiftness. And suddenly the screen went all blurry as the action music began to pick up, indicating a fight, sort of like in those Final Fantasy games with the random encounters! Well, actually, not really... Night, the time when all the nightmares and horrors of the world came out to plague those who live. When the sun sets and darkness creeps across the land, such is the time where the emotion of fear is most prominent. Footsteps. Who's? His? Someone else's? Who cares? The figure stepped up behind the woman, a casual gait, as can be observed by the rhythm of the footsteps. No words said, just the sound of footsteps creeping up behind her. Mithral Mountains, one of the mountain ranges which seperated the dreaded northernlands where death and evil were abundant in, housed the ruins of Sorrow's Keep. According to legend, the place was haunted by spirits, and probably some demons as well considering the history of the place. And being in such a close proximity, it would be hard not to think of this at night, when the mists covered the ruins and the dead skeletal trees reached out of the miasma like claws from a grave. Anyways, back to the figure. It stepped towards the woman, and unless she had eyes in the back of her head, she wouldnt be able to identify what it was, be it a simple traveler, or a zombie or something. Now if she did turn around, she would see what would appear to be a man, considering the broad width of the shoulders generally seem in males, dressed in a flowing black cloak. This cloak of course, would be tightly wrapped around his body, even sporting a cowl atop of it which hooded most of the features of his face in a heavy veil of shadows. Execpt for the eyes; inverted they were, the sclera and pupil were pitch black, the pupil stark white. If she didnt turn around, maybe too busy surveying the area, or zoning out, a skinny hand would reach out from the folds of the cloak and grasp the woman's shoulder to get her attention. And when she would notice him, he would speak, face splitting into a crooked grin. "Hello my dear..."

The small neko-jin's ears flattened as she shifted in John's lap a little uncomfortably, blinking around the table as if trying to divert her attention from the small scale feud developing between the Tribal and Mere. Eventually she slid off John's lap and under the table where she continued to gnaw at the piece of meat she had.
"When we going?" she finally asked, crawling over to mere and peering up at him.

The footsteps she encountered not but a minute before were indeed, not his. But, the steps had stopped as soon as the man approached her from the bushes.
random people walking from the bushes... I like this place already. She gave herself a warm smile and finally turned her head. "What might you be doing at this hour?" She asked calmly.

"But of course, I am looking for potential victims to kidnap and be used as test subjects for twisted exeriments. Care to join me?"
Decruda said quite simply with a calm smile, with all the grace and etiquette that he could muster in the situation. Well, maybe it was a sick joke or something, or maybe it wasnt, especially with his odd appearance, all dressed in black with the weird eyes.
