In the box is a little slivery machine creature shaped like a 6-legged spider. It has no eyes. When he opens up the box, it immediately crawls out and wraps itself around his left wrist. It is pleasantly warm, but it tickles a little.
'Claire's bow starts to chime lightly in her ear.

A.C. smiled mysteriously and handed a gift each to Ruby and Cathy. Ruby's was square and wrapped in deep red and black paper with a swirl design on it. Cathy's was a solid burnt orange, and elongated, with one end heavier than the other.

ArynChris A.C. smiled mysteriously and handed a gift each to Ruby and Cathy. Ruby's was square and wrapped in deep red and black paper with a swirl design on it. Cathy's was a solid burnt orange, and elongated, with one end heavier than the other. Ruby jumped up with an excited giggle after recieving the gift. She looked it over carefully, examining the package and appreciating the colors and design. "Gorgeous wrappin's darlin', haven't seen anythin' better." Then she put it against her cheek to listen to it, took a long breath to smell the ribbon, and chewed on the corner for a few seconds. About ten minutes later she finally decided to open it.

Once Ruby was up, he too stood up from the beanbag and began to inspect his gift. "It's nice and all... But what is it?"

((I suppose I'll play around in here a bit until the next Story begins.))
Jaydis walked in slowly, taking account of her suuroundings and the people within before she leaned casually against the farthest wall. Her black eyes scanned each person that she could see, sizing them up. She spoke to no one.

Ruby glanced up at Jaydis as she walked in, still holding the semi-wrapped present in her mouth. She gave her a small wave, mumbled something incoherent past the wrapping paper, and swiping cathy's plate of cookies--because heaven forbid anyone dare broach onto her very special angel cookies--offered one of Cathy's cookies to Jaydis. "Fmmhoookhee?" She asked shaking the dish a tiny bit to make the cookies look more appetising.

Jaydis turned her eyes to Ruby as she waved. She did acknowledge the wave but did not return it. Jaydis had never waved to another in her life, unless she was getting a Bouncer's attention in the Bar where she worked on occasion.
When Ruby bounced up to her, wrapping paper in mouth and dish of cookies, Jaydis watched her carefully. When the cookie tin was shaken, Jaydis slowly rerached out a thin hand and selected a cookie. She simply held the cookie in her fist and nodded to Ruby.

Tsukiyomi Morningstar Jaydis turned her eyes to Ruby as she waved. She did acknowledge the wave but did not return it. Jaydis had never waved to another in her life, unless she was getting a Bouncer's attention in the Bar where she worked on occasion.

Ruby stood there still as a statue, with a grin in her face, a present in her mouth, and the cookies still outheld, refusing to move until Jaydis made some attemtpt to taste the cookie.
