"Oh no, really sir, I'm fine. I don't have any money any way..." Valora said, her voice trailing off.

"No money would be accepted." He said. "Us Fighters have to help eachother, you know" He whistled and a dark grey filly trotted forward. "A gift"

Valora gasped. "Oh, thank you so much sir!" Then Valora's mood darkened. "If you are a fighter, then I must warn you. Knights have destroyed the East Fir tribe. Spread the warning to as many as you can, and be on the look out." Valora looked back over to the filly((I want it to be a girl)) and asked "What is your name?" "Ryver," the dark gray filly replied.

Adrina's uncle nodded. "You bring grave news, but I will carry it to the others" He frowned. "It would be safer if you two stayed with me a few days."
Adrina agreed happily. "I'd love to" She led Salanoir to a neerby pasture and let the mare graze. "But the Knights aren't after me."
Her uncle smiled. "I think I have a reason to keep you."
Adrina didn't question further.

"I think I have a reason to keep you"? What's that about?

Adrina led Valora up to a pretty, well-to-do manor, leaving her uncle to tend to his horses. She would have helped, if not for the unstoppable urge to accually be clean. She stoped a a guest room.
"That can be yours, Valora" She said. "My chambers are down the hall, the tower room. I'll be there if you need me, and a maid should be by shortly if you need any assistance."
Adrina walked to her room and sighed; it was nice to be home. "Marta" She called her maid. "I'm back"
A brown-haired woman in her mid-twenties hurried to the room. "Mistress, you're back."
"I just said so"
"You need a bath; you smell like a horse."
Adrina couldn't agree more.

When Valora went into the room she immediately ran over to window and threw it open. Taking in big breaths of fresh air, Valora began to relax. Being separated from nature always made her twitchy.

An hour later, the dinner bell rang. Adrina left her room, dressed in traveling clothes and nocked on Valora's door. "Supper" She said. "Uncle will want to talk to you, and his cook is wonderful." Even the thought of Cook's food made her hungry.

When Adrina awoke her, Valora was quite ready to give her a reprimand. But when she mentioned food, all ill feelings vanished. "Food!" she cried joyfully, and rushed out of the room.

The table was set formaly, and Adrina sat in the seat to the left of the head spot. Her Uncle, Arden, entered and gave her a look that clearly said, 'see me afterward.' Adrina nodded to show she understood, and her mind raced with the possibilites. When the food came, she hardly noticed what she was eating; it all tasted good after over a month of travel food.

Smelling the food, Valora's mouth began to water. When they were finally allowed to eat, it took all her control to keep herself from bolting her food. Fighter food could be good, but it was nothing compared to this.

There wasn't much talking thrughout the meal. Adrina watched Valora stuff herself and ate more than was ladylike herself. After it was over, Arden beckoned her away. Adrina hoped Valora would be content with the food, and followed her uncle to the kitchen.
"You must stay untill tomorrow night" Arden said bluntly.
"Why" Adrina asked, willing it not something stupid and/or time wasting.
"You're invited to a ball"
So much for that. Adrina told herself. "I hate balls" She said out loud.

Valora forced herself to pause when she saw Adrina walk out of the room with her uncle. Does this have anything to do with "I have a reason to keep you"? I keep wondering what that's about... Swallowing her most recent mouthful of food, Valora sat back in her chair and wiped her mouth on her arm, which earned her a few dirty looks.

"I won't go" Adrina said loudly, loud enough for Valora to hear.
"My brother wishes it" Arden argued.
"I don't care"
Arden looked at her thoughtfuly. "Your friend can go"
"Valora?" Arden nodded. "Then I will ask her."
Adrina slipped into the dining hall. "Valora, do you like balls?"

Valora was rather puzzled. The only balls she had heard of were the ones used in games and the vunerable area in men. Then she remembered it could also mean a formal dance, but she didn't relax any. "If you would want me to accompany you, I will come." I hope I don't make to huge of fool out of myself...
