Once he had located the last sheet of paper he would need, he stepped through another portal to Reno's apartment as he tried to handle carrying the large book and trying to get his notes in order at the same time.

"s**t ... that's a book?" Books weren't suppose to be that big, then again Reno didn't exactally do a lot of reading either.

Kaleb nodded in response to Reno's comment, and gave Rude a smile. "I-I think I've got it, thank you," he said, struggling a bit more before getting everything sorted and tucked up against the cover of his book in a neat pile. Then he kind of hesitated, not sure if Reno wanted him in his lap again or if he should try to sit beside him on the couch.

"Book's aren't suppose to be that big unless you are going to kill someone with it." He stuffed the last of his sandwich in his mouth and waved for Kaleb to sit where ever, which pretty much meant on Reno's lap, Rude's lap, or the tiny space left on the couch between them as Reno's chairs were covered in laundry.

Kaleb was tiny, so he took his chances and sat in the tiny space between the two Turks. If Reno wanted him in his lap, the redhead would pull him there. "This one isn't that big" he said with a smile. Some of his books were too big for him to lift on his own without using his magic. "You're sure you don't mind me practicing here?" He asked again, the question directed at both Rude and Reno.

Rude shrugged. It wasn't his appartment so it wasn't his call.
Reno caught Kaleb before he could sit down and after shifting himself next to Rude set the blond down. There wasn't a whole lot of space so Kaleb was almost in Reno's lap again, but not quiet.
"Already answered that didn't i?"

Kaleb blushed a bit. "Y-yeah. B-but if it gets too hot and bothers you, just let me know and I'll stop."

Reno looked at Kaleb for a moment before he fell against Rude laughing. "Don't think ya could make it too hot for me Kaleb."

Kaleb was a little confused at Reno's laughter. "O-okay, if you're sure..." he said, and then turned to his notes. One of his loose papers was a list of requirements for his examination, he would have to go through each of those spells in turn and making sure there were no problems with his casting.

He draped one arm around Reno and closed his eyes. His glasses were still back in Reno's room and the light from the room was starting to get to him.
He purred and nuzzled Rude, almost ignoring Kaleb for the moment, before he decided to watch the blond work.

Kaleb let the magical energy flow through him, starting with a small amount for his less demanding shield spells. He went through the various shields one by one, all of which were visible only when he reached out to touch them. Once satisfied with their texture and consistency, he would dispel them and cast the next.

He was rather interested in what Kaleb was doing even if he preferred more hands on ways of doing things. Magic was interesting stuff, as long as you didn't do weird things with it, and it did amuse him that Kaleb did infact get warm as he worked.

Kaleb didn't even notice Reno's attention, he was working his way up to the more advanced spells which required more concentration. One shield wasn't immediately dispelled after inspection, instead Kaleb opened himself up to channel his full energy capacity, and with a soft snap the shield immediately turned a translucent white. That one was his strongest, but the amount of energy he needed for it was exhaustive. As he held it in place his body temperature rose precipitously, his breath came in short pants, and his cheeks flushed with the heat and effort. Ten seconds was his limit for that spell, and he slumped a bit when he let it go.

Reno had been tempted to touch the white barrier but Rude had clamped a hand over Reno's arm to keep him from doing it. His leg tingled from where Kaleb was touching him and the heat had melted into his muscles.
"Tough spell?"
