"You have no wagon?" he inquires. He couldn't think of travelling without a wagon. It is...home. "Well, if you'd like you may share mine until you find one. That is," he adds, "If you do not think it improper." His eyes twinkle. Not malevolently, just with youth and good humor. "Jolie and Folle will appreciate another lady."

Tamlin blushed profusely, it had been ages, two years when she left her brothers to be exact, that someone had been so casual with her. She rather enjoyed it. Baptiste would deffinitly get along well with her oldest brother in particular. She grinned at him and responded to him with the same tones he had spoken in.
"I have lived with 3 brothers and a father for the first 17 years of my life, it may be improper, but i believe i can handle myself. and besides, you put me in mind of my eldest brother and you seem to be worthy of trust. so Babtiste Fenwick Kirpatsh, i place myself in your care and thank you for your offer, i look forward to traveling you in the caravan or no."
she stuck out her hand to shake on the new agreement.
"and I did have a wagon, until the incident with the river... I traveled light, with my instruments and daily money on me and Brid carried a small amount of supplies and my performance clothing. so i lost only my bed and rations for in between performances, but still it was enough that i had to stop traveling and earn enough to stock up again."

He smiles and shakes her hand. His hand is smooth and warm, and gently calloused from work with horses and repairing his own wagon when need arises. "My home is yours," he says sincerely. Changing subjects to match her own, he smiles soberly. "It's a grave misfortune when the river takes a wagon. Fortunately," he says, "It didn't take your beautiful mare as well."

"no, Brid is far to smart to be caught up because of a small one person wagon, as soon as i cut her loose, she made for the shore. Father always knew how to pick good horses." Tamlin smiled as she thought fondly of how proud her father was when her gave her Brid.

Baptiste pats Brid's neck fondly and nods. "Horses are frequently too clever to be caught up in human problems such as river crossings," he says wryly. "Your father seems to be a learned horseman, and a caring father as well to give you such a smart, loyal mount."

Tamlin was very glad that no matter what she would be leaving the city soon, and Baptiste looked like he promised a decent traveling companion.
"I have very few belongings so i wont take up much space, perhaps you could show me your wagon and introduce me to your horses."

Elysia Kavanagh She understood snatches. Enough to get a rough idea... something about the Heraph, which she had heard of once or twice before (mostly in stories) not... ... understanding? the gypsy magic.
She licked her lips, trying to formulate her own questions, trying to understand as best she could. She shifted Vanna on her hip. The girl was staring in rapt attention, watching the conversation.
"Recognize? ... .... Accept? That meant? Us here baking- no, no! Um... Trading. Trading is. Path taken, every path... normal path." She blushed bright red, knowing what she was saying was probably nowhere near understandable. She pulled back her hood, hoping that maybe facial expression would help the other woman more. Hopefully she wouldn't be too frightened by her wounds. "Yes, accept! They do not accept your magic. So I wonder why you are here, trying to... er... be named heir? There are many women amongst you. But even so, you cannot be named Peress. In fact, there may be some sort of demonstration." She didn't know if the woman would know that word, but even then, she realized she had not introduced herself. " I'm sorry. My name is Clostho."

Menelie [Haggling face. LOLZ.] Caroline looks at the she-Banya. It is darling. She shakes her head. "Heaven help me," she says. "Before I agree, I've one question. Ro an' I've already got two Banyas--both male. Will we, um...be expectin' any Banya bairns when the wee lass has grown?"Rojiza giggles. She hadn't thought of that. How fun, to have baby Banyas!"You'd need FitzCherries before they'd do that, lovey." Sippa giggled. She was no breeder- but it was clear enough how to solve that ...dilemna.

Gwynna Chirilo "Ah," Gwynna said, not terribly enlightened by the explanation. "Hm." She stood back a moment, subtly feeling the weight of the gold pieces securely tucked away in her belt purse. "How about 55 for the peach," the gypsy offered. She quirked an eyebrow. "57. Look at it- a prime little specimin. Oh yes, how can you say noooo?" She trilled, thrumming her fingers gently atop the crate but not to wake the little beasts.

((You named her after one of the fates? xd Or close to it, anyway xd Not quite exactly))
Lorelei puzzled over this some more. Heir? Peress, she understood. That she knew. Women... named heir... oh!
"Oh, no! No, not try named heir, no. Here by occasion. ... no, no. Accident. Accident. No knowing all excitement here." She smiled sheepishly, then held out her bandaged hand. "My name is Lorelei," she responed, basically paroting back the phrase Clostho had used. "This Vanna," she explained, hefting the girl a little.
Then, speaking normally, "Say hello, dear."
Vanna waved, giggling, snapping out of her daze.

Nusa grinned at Sippa around one drool-covered fist. "Glah!"
After just a few seconds of hesitation, Gwynna stuck out her free hand. "57 it is, then."

Vanna waved, giggling, snapping out of her daze. ((XD YUS. She was almost Clotho, but then I was like, "What's next, Atropos? Nooo... XD" Very few names I plan in advance. Most of them I just try and fit into what sounds like it would fit within a regional name scheme- then I stick with it with others like it. Gypsies have a lot of V names, a certain sound to their name- other areas I have other 'cues' to follow. ...OQBrain is not to be probed. Danger ensues. (Aww, man, I have no probes from the Halloween event...))"Vanna. Lorelei. They're hard to say. But very pretty." Her language was one of guttural growls and purrs- such melodic names (for even their names were infused with their element) were difficult for her lips to form, so unaccustomed were they do doing more then trilling to accomodate the air that rushed by in a growl. "Well, even so, there will be a demonstration if you get close enough to the festival. They might nullify your magic, or denounce it. It's not dangerous," she added quickly, "but they have to do it to be able to qualify.. er... try and say that they are ...the only magic users." She didn't know how much Lorelei understood, but even in her choppy, far-too prettily said replies, she seemed to be making some vital connections in understanding.

Gwynna Chirilo Nusa grinned at Sippa around one drool-covered fist. "Glah!" After just a few seconds of hesitation, Gwynna stuck out her free hand. "57 it is, then." "Done." Sippa smiled, then reached into the crate with an expert hand and wrapped a calming ring around one of the birds- it was almost too soft to seem to be able to hold the bird steady, but the calming effects of the lightly charmed meij ring made the Gold Head almost immovable as she passed the little bird to Gwynna. "It's a girl, by the way. Very young, but sweet." ((You can save the image just to make sure it's kept, then put it in your wagon, please- somewhere on the front page [or linked to] and name it. Yay! Kimie's got a Banya! >3 Torture ensueees...))

Lorelei smiled briefly before moving back to the serious subject at hand. "I no have magic of I. But other muffin- gypsies have magic of them." She giggled a little. "Word close sound." She wasn't sure why, but Clostho's language seemed to equate gypsies and baked goods.
Lorelei pondered a moment. "I past lived here in. Would keep out me? Hm. ... I tell other gypsies, mm?"
Another moment. Vanna shifted in her arms. "Would you dinner need? Food I have."

((What have I gotten myself into!? stressed heart ))
Gwynna shifted Nusa slightly and slipped her hand through layers of scarves to her purse. She passed the couplets over and accepted the banya carefully, clicking her tongue softly.
The little banya queeped and buried her face into Gwynna's red curls.
"Oh, she is a darling," Gwynna said. "Thank you, and it was lovely doing business with you. We'll take very good care of her."
