(Roll d20, not d4...)
(Best a 16 def and we can see if your bootlace will case a d2 sub-dual damage!)

The whipping bootlace strikes, making a whipcrack sound as it slices through the air.
"I have you now!"

(You would cause 2 sub damage (none lethal) damage with a 4 on a d4. You still need to roll a d20 to see if you hit.)

*re-rolling as instructed* I was just using 1d4 as it seemed like a tiny weapon, and that's the smallest gaia would allow... although I think whips have a 1d2 ratio or something. sweatdrop

!!Catastrophic Failue... ERROR, ERROR!!
I guess that'd make the lace noose it's self around my own neck, and choke me half to death? (or because it was a 4 out of 4 perhaps a critical) sweatdrop

You fall out of your chair and land on your own bootlace. You get 1 sub-dual damage!
(1d2 is a penny, but you can use a 1d4, 1 and 3 =1 and the 2 and 4 =2)

Because you rolled a 1 on the d20, it just means something bad will happen, what that is is up to the GM, which is why he really can't have a character. sweatdrop

This isn't true, as the GM has multiple characters, NPC bad guys and the like. It could be a most fun task. I think. About the whip, are you sure it's not 1d2? I had one in Neverwinter Nights and I'm pretty sure that was it's damage. gonk I don't understand how it works, but it sounds quite pathetic.

Yes a 1d2 is only causing a min damage of 1 + your strength mod, and max of 2 plus your strength mod.
A better weapon would be the longsword, which is a 1d8. Min of 1 + str and max of 8 + str.

The longsword is what I put on my D&D character anyway, and plan on acquiring a b*****d sword someday. domokun I'd have just given him one but nobody should start off that well equipped... I think we should discuss starter equipment sometime, like before we start a propper game.
