"What?!?" Glissa watched as Kirai tossed the stone in the air and shatter it. She felt a sharp pain inside of her when the stone broke. Her eyes followed the red orb around until it vanished. Once it disappeared, she heard a small voice in the back of her head.
Aww... The pretty stone is gone now... Why did he do that...
Glissa then looked into Kirai's eyes.
"Why do I need to stay still?" She glared at him.
That naughty boy broke the stone... He should be punished... Yes... He should... How should we punish the naughty boy?
"I don't know..." Glissa mumbled out loud.
We should hurt him... Hurt him really bad... Hurt him so he won't get up...
"But that would be mean..."
Yes... Very mean... Demons are mean, are we not?
"Yes... We are..." Glissa slowly stepped back from Kirai, a small growl issuing from her lips. She watched Kirai, waiting to see what he would do. Meanwhile, the small voice kept chiming in the back of her head.
Yes... punish the boy... punish him for breaking the stone... punish him... punish him so he'll bleed... punish him so he'll scream... punish him so he'll never get up... punish him so he'll never get up... punish him so he'll never.........

Kirai probably shouldn't have told her squat because he could tell that a fragment of the spirit was now embedded in her subconscious.
'This is BAD.'
Without hesitating, Kirai used all of his speed and energy to jump forward until he was almost in Glissa's face.
His scroll shot up, attempting to plant itself on her forehead. With any luck at all, he'd make it before he had to fight her.

(50-50 chance, random number time! XDD 1-5 misses, 6-10 doesn't, 11-15 does, 16-20 doesnt)

Glissa began to run backwards as soon as she saw Kirai move, but it was too late. The scroll made contact with her forehead and attached securely. Almost immediately Glissa felt this excruciating pain in her head. She latched onto the scroll and tried pulling it off her head with all her strength, but it wouldn't budge. All the time the voice in the back of her head was screaming a horrible tortured scream, and it kept growing louder and louder, until she couldn't stand it. Her knees buckled and she dropped to the sand. How was this possible? She had never felt pain this intense before. Glissa let go of the scroll and instead started clawing at her head. Tears started to roll down her cheeks.

Kirai hated doing this to a new ally..but if he didn't, Glissa would just get worse and eventually would become controlled by the spirit entirely. Kirai pulled at his scroll, and the surface of Glissa's head began to glow red. The tip of the scroll began to pull this red aura from her body, as if it were pulling a second skin from her forehead. When it finaly came off, Kirai tossed it upwards and sliced through it without hesitation.

"Sorry, but it had to be done. you wouldn't have liked the alternatives at all, trust me."

As soon as Kirai destroyed the aura, the screaming began to fade away. It was still quite loud though, and Glissa could barely hear what he said.

"Wha?" Glissa's hands let go of her head finally and drooped down to her sides. The seemingly endless scream was fading, growing fainter. Glissa's mind was ringing still. Images of a destroyed city bathed in red were flashing before her eyes.

"Make it stop... Make it go away..."
Glissa fell sideways into the sand, her eyes staring blankly into the distance.

Kirai scoffed lightly.
"Stand up. You're fine."
When Glissa fell over sideways, Kirai sighed slightly in disappointment.
He reached into his pocket, then pulled out a clear crystal with a symbol floating on the inside. He began to chant in a necromantic tongue, and the symbol in the rune began to glow slightly. He placed the crystal above where Glissa's heart would be, just below her left breast. The symbol began to glow red as an aura began to seep into the crystal, as if a drop of blood was beginning to dissipate in a vial of water. The crystal was draining away the pain and remnants of the removed soul, destroying all fragments that were too fine for his scroll to remove.

Slowly, Glissa's mind was returning to reality. The bloody images faded from her vision, and was replaced by a harsh, yet familiar face. The scream was gone and her head no longer was ringing with sorrow. Slowly she sat up and looked at Kirai.

"Wha... What happened to me?" She looked franticly side to side, scanning the beach. The last thing she could remember was wading out into the water. Some one must have attacked. But Kirai was fine, and there were no bodies in the sand. Something wasn't right...

"Oh, nothing. You got stung by a jellyfish and conked out. For a minute I thought you were dead, until you started growling randomly in your sleep."
Kirai had already pocketed the Hollow Diamond he kept with him, thinking it best that he just keep Glissa's little episode to himself and never talk about it again.
"So are you Ok?"

"A jellyfish? A jellyfish made me pass out?!? What the... How big was it???" Glissa was appalled. How could something as simple as a jellyfish make a demon pass out? She stood up and began dusting herself off.

"I should probably post warning signs. If it made me pass out, it could kill a student. Tho, some of 'em deserve to die... But I'm not gonna get into that."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 15, 2008 3:48 pm

"Oh, it was about..this big. Its was a black man-of-war."
Kirai made a space between his fingers about the size of a fifty cent piece.
"Though, it wasn't a regular jellyfish. It had a demonic symbol on it, so I killed it and took its blood for a symbol."
Kirai was just making it up as he went, and was sounding believable.

"A demonic jellyfish?!? Now I've heard everything... Oh well... Better put up a sign anyways. Better safe than sorry. Bloody students...." Glissa continued to mumble to herself as she stormed back up the beach toward where her boots were.

Kirai laughed at Glissa for a moment, then trodded up the beach after her, moving towards his own boots as well.
"Hey, you probably shouldnt move so quickly, if you got stung by a jellfish strong enough to knock you out, you probably still have venom in your body!"
Kirai caught up to Glissa, reaching into his pocket for yet another stone; this time it was a small coin made of obsidian.

Glissa glanced over at what Kirai pulled out of his pocket.
"What the hell does that do?" She raised her eyebrows in disapproval. Most remedies don't work on her caliber of demon, and more often than not she just heals herself.

It was a load of BS, from the moment he told her about the jellyfish. Why he'd told her such a lie eluded him.
But he had regained his balance; He was thinking logically now. He'd found a way to gain from the scenario.
He handed Glissa the coin.
"Well, it doesnt do much of anything, but it's good for your health to keep it with you. It repels negative karma."
'God, i can't believe I'm saying such stupid s**t to give her a tracking coin...'
It was true; The coin had a small demon insect fossilized inside of it; and this insect was very easy for Kirai to find. One time he even found it 500 miles away.
"I know, It's dumb, but you should keep it anyway."

"Karma huh? Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to just carry it..." Glissa took the coin from Kirai's hand and looked at it for a moment. The dark obsidian was very pretty. Light glinted off the many facets on the coin's surface. She then sucked the coin down the front of her dress, nestled it on the side of her left breast, and then plopped down on the log to pull on her boots. She easily slid the first boot on and zipped it all the way up. While trying to pry her second boot's heel out of the log, Glissa glanced up at Kirai.

"What?"
