Yay! An answer I'll know! It's Levicorpus.
No, James' job is never mentioned in the books, and Harry doesn't even know as far as we can tell. All we know is he helped with the Order and that he might've worked in the ministry.

If I may attempt to correct you, Jay...
"General: James Potter was born in 1958 or 1959 to a Wizarding family of some wealth. The early demise of his parents (both died somewhere between 1975 and 1981) and his subsequent inheritance prevented him from needing to work later in life. He was therefore able to devote the short time between his graduation from Hogwarts and his murder by Voldemort to the fight against the Dark Lord."
This was taken from James Potter's Biography on Mugglenet.com...Now, keep in mind that Mugglent HAS been wrong before, but on the whole...they're generally right about such things.

All we know is he helped with the Order and that he might've worked in the ministry. Wonderful! That is completely correct, good job! I didn't think the books told us what James did and my mum thought I was wrong..... she said he was an Auror. Thanks anyways. And I have another question: At exactly what time does the Hogwarts Express leave Kings Cross Station?

Ok, well, you said you wanted a spell question.... so here goes... In the first book the trio learned a (very famous) spell in charms. At some point (in the first or second books) they all used this spell..... What spell was it?
And let me know if you don't understand my question..... good luck....
