I agree with you about the generic personalitiy, but I'd use examples like Kaname Chidori from FMP, or even Kamiya Kaoru from RK... but Tohru? Or Sakura (assuming from CCS)... I'd say both of them have completely different personalities.

I truly dislike Kagome...

Do you dislike Sango as well? She has the same voice as Kagome. (Both are played by Kelly Sheridan. Well.. In the english series atleast..)

I like both mostly kikyo but kagome is okay but i don't like how every time she sees kikyo she hides like kikyo is gonna kill her that is sooooooo anoying

I know it's silly, but as far as one can take a cartoon character seriously, I hate Kagome, and it has nothing to do with me liking Kikyou. (Although I must admit that Kagome falling for Inuyasha and a good amount of the immature Kagome fans don't help her case.)

- Kagome is immature, even for a 14/15 year old. Inuyasha can be crude, insensitive, and annoying; he also heals very quickly because he's a demon, but she "sits" him too much and for frivolous reasons too. He could say her hair looks bad today, and she'd slam him face first into the ground. It's supposed to be cute/funny.

- That skirt annoys me. This is a nitpick, I'll admit it, but if you're going to be flying around on Kirara, running around in feudal combat, and you carry a backpack, what's wrong with a change of clothes? Hell, Sango does it.

- Kagome has taken Inuyasha's residual love for Kikyou well, all things considered (especially since the woman does have a portion of her/their soul) but I'm tired of her whining about how often Inuyasha goes running after Kikyou. It doesn't help that in the anime, Miroku and Sango agree and call him a cheater. Seriously, it's the first love that he lost tragically. He gave her his mother's make-up for crying out loud, the only one to ever love him. Now that's saying something. No one ever said that they were dating, and if she had any sense, she'd let Joho down gently.

- The constant rescuing. Yes, Kagome has gotten a lot better at fighting, but it's still supposed to be entertaining plot when she gets kidnapped or Kouga comes into the picture. She's just not entertaining to me; she's getting on my nerves.

- I don't see the need for Kagome in the long run. This is just a fun theory, but Kagome is from the future, and in that future, there's no Naraku, and Japan is fine. Couldn't someone argue that Inuyasha and the gang won in the feudal era without Kagome's help?

Kagome, to me, is the stereotypical near Mary Sue. You could definitely say that her childishness and insecurities over Kikyou can be pros, things that keep her from being perfect, and I'd say that's right. At the same time, the character is designed that the whole "sit" routine and seeing Kikyou as a road-block to hers and Inuyasha's non-existent romantic relationship (although you can clearly see something romantic is there,) isn't endearing at all. I can't appreciate a helpless female that repeatedly gets kidnapped and hopes for rescue. (This is why I prefer Sango, although the staying loyal to an off-and-on again cheating, yet loyal at heart monk is getting damn annoying and compromising to her character to me.)

The clincher is her legions of loyal fans, the crazy ones to be absolutely fair. They scream, "Kinky-hoe!" with their bad spelling and stupidity for the woman is a priest and has only ever kissed. Kagome wears a short skirt and is by no means a ho at all. They see Kikyou as a road block to Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship being romantic, when the only thing that's stopping that relationship is Inuyasha and Kagome, themselves. And finally, they give anime fans, Kagome, and girls a bad name, screaming "slut! b***h! ho!" anything to put down female sexuality. They are just. plain. ignorant.

That's why I could never like Kagome.

Kagome is definitely the most annoying anime character. Ever.

At the beginning of the manga, she as OK, but as it progressed on she was starting to "claim" and whine about how Inu wouldn't pay attention to her. The anime made her even worse, especially with the annoying "InuYasha! InuYasha! InuYasha!" thing. stare
