Rylenn smiled warmly and touched Dante's shoulder almost affectionatly. "It's my life, Professor. If I changed it, I wouldn't be me, now would I...?" He grinned and set the crow where his hand used to be on Dante's shoulder.

"I would love to come to your village, Professor.. Just give me a time and place to be..." He smiled and tilted his head some in respect. "Now.. if you'd please excuse me... I hate to cut the conversation short.. but it's about that time... I'm sure we're supposed to be doing more today than just partying. I hope to see you very very soon, Professor.." He waved a hand before turning and padding off to look for some indication of both his dorm room and something of a class schedule.

He turned back one last time to look at Dante. He paused for a long moment before waving a hand and grinning like a fool. He turned and padded to where he assumed he was supposed to go.

"So Dante," Greg said, putting an arm on the Elfs shoulder. "Can I come too? I would love to meet people who know you so well and who don't get all worried about what I'm going to do when I ask which glasses are yours like your sister does." He said with a little smirk. "Besides, you'll need some protection from the students."

"Thank you, Ma'am, I appreciate it," he answered her but took notice to the expression that laced across her young face. He had no inclination to go on to help him in the least discover what it was that was troubling the woman and he guessed he would never find out. It wasn't his place to ask. Still, he did very much appreciate the offer of help and would certainly go to Irame first if he were to need any assistance with his studies.

Dante watched as Rylenn walked off, a small smile on his face.

Which disappeared the instant Greg opened his mouth. With a fierce scowl, he stomped down on Greg's foot and marched off in the opposite direction once the professor had released him. He would NOT allow that clown to do this to him anymore.

“Of course.” Irame laughed slightly, forcing away what she had been thinking about before. “But you shouldn’t just sit here and talk to a teacher, you should go and talk to some classmates, get to know them, make some friends.” She waved her hand. “You’ll be spending a long time with them so you should get to know them well, and you should make some friends.”

Greg watched as Dante walked off. He smiled after him sadly, and shook his head. “I don’t know how to say those three words….. I’ve said too much, but not enough….” Greg recited to himself quietly among the other louder party goers, then he turned. He forced a smile and called out the name of a face that he remembered, going over to the other person and talking to them happily.

Elijah understood what she was saying and knew that a close friendship would help anyone in a situation like this. A school community was built on trust, espeacally one like this, but he couldn't trust anyone he had yet to meet. Smiling he gave a nod. Maybe in this case he would have to take the first step. "Yeah...umm...well, I'm glad I met you Miss Irame," he said gently, "It was nice talking with you. I guess I'll see you during school." He gave a friendly wave before turning to leave and looking back said, "Bye." Elijah walked away, wondering exactly what to do next or who try and start a conversation with.

((throwing Lorioth and Jav in here, under my control now. I skimmed through everything but if I get things wrong/miscommunicate, let me know! I can take it. I think. xDD))

"I don't think they like meeeee" Professor Javelin wailed, looking around and flinging her arms over the more slight Doctor Lorioth. "They hate me, I know it! Where is the love, the flowers and the adoration? I don't want to teach students who don't think I'm the greatest thing that has ever happened to them. Do you think they'll even come to my classes?"

It was a broad, flamboyant wail accompanied by a couple of exaggerated sniffs, and Lorioth took it-- listening to one extravagant professor seemed easier to deal with then the rest of the students. Besides, he didn't mind so much-- all he had to do was appear sympathetic and keep his mouth shut.

"Now, I'm sure that's not true." patting her with a slightly exasperated smile on his face, he looked around. "Look at all these friendly faces. They're eager to make your acquaintance."

Javelin sniffed. "You stay with me okay? I don't think my heart will be able to take another dismissal."

It was all Lorioth could do to keep his face sympathetic and open, but he smiled, casting a shy glance around the room with a shake of his head. It was better for him, too. It would be easier to pretend to do his duties by Javelin's side, then attempt to do this alone.

As if sensing her companion's thoughts, her smile turned sly. "See? I'm such a wonderful, wonderful wonderful person, helping even you out. You know the others will say something if you hide like the cute mouse you are, micey." Micey? "So I'll take you around and protect you from the evil good looking students."

Her smile turned slightly predatory.

"Unless you'd rather I found Ardanay to protect you? I think he was with someone exceptionally pretty..."

Lorioth balked at the suggestion, and shook his head, turning scarlet as he led the professor gently towards a throng of people. "I'm fine." Besides. It would be humiliating to have the man make fun of him in front of all these new students. Even the old ones.

"You sure?" Javelin sounded quiet disappointed, but brightened up when she saw the group. "HELLO~ there." she cooed. "Welcome welcome welcome~ isn't this a fantastic day made all the better because of us? You're lucky you know, that you have such fantastic teachers." she beamed, clearly indicating that she was one of these said teachers.

Lorioth barely restrained another blush as he looked away. Javelin... maybe he could still make a quick escape.

((Okay.. gonna toss them in so Toa-chan doesn't gnaw on my head XD))

"It seems everyone is getting along as they should.. that's always good." The rather feminine advisor was watching everything near a wall, leaning against it. Opening a fan with a flick of his slim fingers, he idly fanned himself as he watched how Javelin was causing Lorioth to want to run for the nearest mousehole and hide in it. Typical of her rather loud and self-centered nature. Though...

"If you even open your mouth and try to say you're prettier, I'm going to jab out your eyes with my cig." Herei's gaze shifted over to where Shinji was close by him, smoking quietly as you please. It pleased him, of course, to see so many students milling around, but he wasn't overly talkative all the time. Plus, they seemed more entranced by the other more flashy teachers. and that was definitely fine with him.

"Geez! Aren't we grumpy today! Did we wake up on the wrong side of the bed, Master Shinji?" His fan closed with an elegant snap before he playfully jabbed his fellow co-worker with it, teasing him. "You know you wanna say hello to all the other students!"

Shinji only rolled his eyes and took another heavy drag before he dropped the cig and crushed it beneath a boot, a slow curl of smoke escaping his lip. "You're awfully loud today." Slanting him a dark look, he calmly grabbed hs fan and threw it out towards where the groups of people were. "Go play."

"HEY!!" Vastly unhappy with how he was treating his fan, which was something he did treasure, he hurried out to try to get it before anyone stepped on it. A heated glare was thrown in Shinji's direction. He'd make him pay for this... oh yes...

Zan-chan

"Please don't concern yourself with me." He said this with a brightly too-cheerful smile and almost detatched words. Quickly with deft mental strokes he was repairing his facial features and everything about him that he had lost in that moment of panic. The composure came back and the smile seemed less forced and more real, his eyes shone with their emerald gleam and he waved a hand absently.

"Really. I'll be alright... I really should get going however. Do have fun meeting the professors and students. They're all quite interesting." He was fading out as if confused if he truly wanted to go or not. No. No he didn't think he wanted to. He wanted to try to find a confiding friend and Jaden could be a start, but not now. It was too soon. He could trust no one but himself. Turning himself ever so slightly cold he said -a little too quickly- "Perhaps I'll see you around. Good-bye!" And then Nathaniel was gone. It would be the first time he'd actually jogged away to do something less important then answering a command from his parents.

Things were going strange. Not just for him, but for the world... and he wondered how much longer he could sustain himself before it all fell apart. He'd need to come up with some things soon. Could he do it alone? He doubted it these days but as soon as he could access more information... soon as he could... the world should be afraid of his concoctions and ideas.

Jaden smiled brightly, "I hope I see you again!" never at all dissuaded by the other's abrupt manner, the trouble that seemed to lurk just beneath the surface of Nathaniel's persona seemed to beckon the researcher within the odd-eyed boy's soul. But he saw Nathaniel as more than a project...he really did want to know just...what was wrong. Because something most definitely was.

Now that he was adrift...talking to no one, he was even more uncertain...unsure of himself. Clutching a book to his chest, he was wide-eyed...gazing about the room that he hadn't had time to see before his almost-collision with the taller student.

Oooh dear...

Jaden took several awestruck steps forward...there were elves here...right in front of him, and that was almost more than his brain could handle. Oh he'd believed all right, but...oh wow...

'But the idea is so much easier then actually going up to someone and talking,' Elijah thought, now on his own and as he looked around to the still astonishing sight he tried to figure things out and contemplate his next course of actions. 'Come now, all you have to do is say one simple word...come on, you can at least say hello,' he debated with himself and tried to desperatly get over his shyness. Breathing in slowly, he released the air and started to search through the crowd of people and elves for a student like him.

Most people were conversing here and there, talking about various subjects and getting acquanted with those they would be working with or seeing every day for the rest of the school year. Slowly walking forward, Elijah looked about with large eyes, still in a state of awe at the sight of the elven people. This was...amazing. A blur entered the corner of his eyes and he immedatly stopped his walking before he could run into the person and looking forward he gave an embarassed expression. "I'm sorry," he spoke, looking to a young man who was obviously another student. Jaden seemed to be just as bewildered as he. "Umm...hi...I'm Elijah, what's your name?" he asked the young man.

Jaden wasn't about to be very lucky with running into people though ... because Zach had also noticed said elves. Ok ... now, see, that was cool. Forget science, there were elves here. Elves who could do magic, probably.

Swallowing a bit nervously, Zach forgot all about his plans to sneak off and find magical things, staring at the group of elves as he headed toward them. Only to bump into another boy who was heading the same exact direction with much the same look on his face. He yelped slightly and stumbled back a step. "Er ... sorry."

Tycho had successfully melted back into the crowd, and was making his way towards one of the side doors, hoping to get out of there and find someplace safe to sit and let the paranoia die down. His lapse of attention had unsettled him, and Tycho wondered if he'd somehow gone soft since he'd left New Haven.

Tycho sidestepped a group of students, head down, and shoulders slumped so as to avoid their eyes and any invitation to join the group. Once past, his violet eyes flicked over his shoulder to see if anyone was following him, then returned to watching the constantly shifting path of moving bodies.

It had been awhile since anyone had tried to attack him. He hadn't even done anything when that Lady, or Professor Veilwood had grabbed him. Then again, those hadn't been an actual attack on his life. The last time that had happened was in his first year at New Haven, when he'd attempted to pick the wrong pocket, and the very large, very drunk man, had pulled out a gun. Tycho automatically fingered the mostly remembered trace of a scar on his left hand. The bullet had only grazed him, thanks in part to the man's unsteady aim, and Tycho's speed in getting away.

It had been years since then, and Tycho had never been in quite as much danger. Perhaps that was why he'd failed to keep an eye on his surroundings. He was getting used to a lack of danger. Well, at least he could now censure himself, make sure that he knew what was going on around him. Tycho clenched a fist in a silent promise, and then stumbled forward as something smacked him on the back of the head.

He whirled around, eyes wide, and aimed a punch at his attacker, which fluttered limply to the ground. It was... a fan? Tycho stared unbelievingly at the wood and paper construct, realizing that his seconds-old promise had already been broken. He picked it up, noticing that two of the inner folds had been broken, either from where it had hit him, or where he'd punched it, and looked around furtively for the person who'd thrown it. It seemed that the attack had been unintentional, otherwise the person would've chosen to use something a bit more lethal, and that, at least, made Tycho feel a little better.

Still, if someone was randomly tossing fans around, Tycho wasn't going to get hit again. He stuffed the fan into a pocket, and resumed his trek for the door. This time, he made sure that he watched for anything out of the ordinary.

It just seemed the day for people bumping into other people, and no sooner had Elijah introduced himself to the odd-eyed boy then ANOTHER boy ran into him. Well...it seemed that this was just Jaden's way of getting to know people, he decided wryly...and he did suppose there were worse ways, but this, frankly, was embaressing.

"Uhm, hullo...I'm Jaden..." Quickly replying to Elijah with a friendly smile, he glanced over at Zach as well. "And it's ok...I'm not hurt...no harm done..." Raising his hands in a placating sort of motion, he didn't need anyone else acting odd with him just because they'd nearly had a collision of epic proportions.

He smiled shyly at the both of them, "I suppose you guys are just as awestruck as I am, huh?" it was ironic...all his life he'd believed in elves...learned to speak elven...and now that he was here? Well...it was quite another thing.

Just as Elijah was expecting an answer, another studen dropped in unexpectantly and just as awkwardly as Elijah had done so. 'This is certainly interesting,' he thought to himself and watched the pair, wondering if they were alright, but after they shared there "sorry" and "it's alright" he trusted nothing was wrong.

"N-nice to meet you Jaden," he spoke, hearing the boy's name and he glanced to Zach and raised his hand to give a nervous but friendly wave. Nodding he agree, they all did seem to be in an awed trance. "Y-yeah, I guess so. This place is...very new to me, I guess it only makes sense for us to be having these awkward moments," he replied.

Zach nodded, and glanced over at the other boy. "Everyone's kinda ... gravitating toward the elves, huh?" he murmured. "Ah, sorry. I'm Zach." He offered a disarming smile, obviously a friendly person despite his appearance which seemed to hint at a more moody or withdrawn personality.

In reality, he only looked the way he did because he'd been trying to fit in with his "friends" back home. It didn't bother him that he looked like he did now, and he actually rather liked the look. But it didn't mean he had the general attitude that some of them did - which was to be surly and unpleasant all the time. Because that, honestly, wasn't any fun.
